Leeds United vs Blackburn Rovers (3-2) - Match Review

Blackburn Rovers make it back to back defeats as they lose in a 5 goal thriller against top of the table Leeds United. Leeds took the lead through a big fat own goal by Derrick Williams. Β Rovers looked 2nd best throughout the first half as Leeds had plenty of chances to extend that lead. Rovers got back into the match shortly into the 2nd half after we were awarded a penalty which Cpt Fantastic scored to level the scorline at 1-1. Rovers then took the lead deep into the latter stages of the match, when Rothwell was brought down in a promising area. Β Mulgrew converted a beautiful free kick to give Rovers an unexpected lead. The lead didn't last long, as Kemar Roofe leveled the game once more, less than a minute later, and Roofe again stole all 3 points with the winner in injury time. Pissed off!! Leeds United: Peacock-Farrell, Ayling (c) (Shackleton, 69), Douglas, Forshaw, Roofe, Alioski, Jansson, Hernandez, Harrison (Clarke, 60), Phillips, Klich. Unused substitutes: Huffer, Baker, Davis, Halme, Gotts. Goal: Williams OG, 33, Roofe, 90, 90. Booked: Douglas, 76, Lenihan, 85, Phillips, 89 Rovers: Raya, Nyambe (Reed, 62), Lenihan, Mulgrew (c), Williams, Bell, Evans, Rodwell (Smallwood, 69), Armstrong (Rothwell, 75), Dack, Graham. Blackburn Rovers vs Norwich City (0-1) - Match Review

Blackburn Rovers ended their home form in 2018 with a defeat to high flyers Norwich City. Β The Canaries left it late to score the one and only goal which came on the 81st minute thanks to top scorer Teemu Puuki. Rovers kept Norwich at bay for the majority of the match, and looked destined for a point, however we ultimately ended the match with 10 men as Harrison Reed picked up an injury late on after all subs were used. Doesn't get much easier for Rovers as we take on Leeds United and Sheffield United to end the calendar year. In this video we take a look at the match stats, hear from opposition supporter Harvey Monk on his thoughts, plus what did the gaffa Tony Mowbray have to say? Rovers: Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew (c) (Williams, 46), Bell, Smallwood, Evans (Palmer, 59), Reed, Dack, Armstrong (Brereton, 73), Graham. Substitutes: Leutwiler, Rodwell, Rothwell, Downing. Blackburn Rovers vs Birmingham City (2-2) - Match Review

Blackburn Rovers let slip a two goal lead against Birmingham City to draw 2-2 at Ewood Park. Rovers looked comfortably in control of the match taking the lead via a Danny Graham header courtesy of a Harrison Reed free kick. Rovers doubled their lead thanks to a tight angled strike by substitute Adam Armstrong to give Rovers a two goal cushion. Birmingham chipped back into the game via a penalty after David Raya made a hash of a catch, the goal scored by Gardner (not sure which one). Β And finally Che Adams scored the leveler for Birmingham. Both chances had opportunities to win it, but ultimately it ended in a draw. In this video we take a look at the match statistics, see what the fans had to say and get words of wisdom from the gaffa. Middlesbrough vs Blackburn Rovers (1-1) - Match Review

Blackburn Rovers failed to take advantage of 10 man Middlesbrough, and had to settle for a point at the Riverside. Β 1-1 was the final score with Mo Besic the man sent off for a shirt pull on Bradley Dack. Captain Charlie Mulgrew scored from the resulting free kick to give Rovers the lead, however Blackburn were denied all 3 points, after Britt Assombalonga long range striker gave Middlesbrough a share of the points. In this video we take a look at the match statistics, hear what Tony Mowbray had to say as well as Middlesbrough supporter John Gaunt. Blackburn Rovers vs Sheffield Wednesday (4-2) - Match Review

Blackburn Rovers bounce back after two rough away performances with a comfortable win at Ewood Park against Sheffield Wednesday. Rovers winning 4-2 in the end thanks to goals from Bradley Dack and a hattrick by Danny Graham. Ex Rover made things interesting with a wonderstrike to make it 2-1, and an own goal by David Raya gave Wednesday hope, but Rovers added a 4th to take home a much needed 3 points. Key members of the squad stood up and were counted today, including Craig Conway and Paul Downing. In this video we hear from the Gaffa Tony Mowbray, plus reaction from the fans and match analysis. Wigan Athletic vs Blackburn Rovers (3-1) - Match Review

Another shambolic performance form Blackburn Rovers as we are beaten by Wigan Athletic 3-1 at the DW Stadium. No real response from Rovers following their defeat on the weekend against Preston, as Rovers lacked ideas and any attacking urgency. Problems at the back gave Wigan opportunities to score and they took full advantage. The only conciliation for Rovers was a late own goal which gave them a small lifeline, that was later taken away. Β Not great, we need a win fast! Wigan Athletic: Walton, Morsy (c), Kipre, Burn, Evans, James, Naismith, Byrne, Roberts (Connolly, 79), Powell (Windass, 22), Vaughan (McManaman, 79) . Blackburn Rovers vs Queens Park Rangers (1-0) - Match Review - 2018/19

Blackburn Rovers picked up a valuable win at Ewood Park against a resurgent Queens Park Rangers. The only goal of the game came from the spot after Ben Brereton was fouled and with Charlie Mulgrew out of action the responsibility was placed on the shoulders of Bradley Dack to score which he did. Besides that the game offered little opportunities for either side, QPR will feel a little hard done by as they were so close to sealing an valueable away point. Next up for Rovers another home match this time against Rotherham United. Β As for QPR they head back to Loftus Road for Brentford. In this video we get words from the gaffa (and fireworks), plus some match analysis. Rovers: Leutwiler, Bennett (c), Lenihan, Williams, Bell, Evans, Smallwood (Palmer, 63), Reed, Dack, Armstrong (Brereton, 80), Graham (Rothwell, 74). Unused substitutes: Fisher, Nyambe, Rodwell, Conway. Booked: Reed, 18, Smallwood, 33, Evans, 55, Brereton, 90 QPR: Lumley, Bidwell, Freeman, Eze (Smith, 76), Scowan (Chair, 86), Luongo, Rangel (Furlong, 86), Wszolek, Wells, Lynch, Leistner (c).
