  1. I experienced the policing last night on the walk to the ground, and under the circumstances OVERALL I feel they did a good job under provocation from both sides. Steb Come on stop lying I saw you jumping up and down on the PC's hat with your NASA cap on and nicking his truncheon
  2. Although I didn't see too much wrong with what the Police did last night maybe we should listen to what some of the Celtic fans are saying here -remember what the Sheff Weds fans where saying last season. There are always different points of views on these matters and I didn't see anything major with the Police last night unlike the useless 'power brained' stewards. What I can't understand is what people where expecting last night - just 15 Celtic fans to turn up and sit down and have a cup of coffee?? We are talking about a massive club here with some passionate fans and every club has its own element of trouble makers which will increase dependant on the occasion amount of people etc -over drinking exhuberance maybe by some but to tarnish all with the same brush? Steven no offence but I think you need to get a grip of what being a football fan is about. I for one don't want to be told what do in how I get to a match or what I can't do once I am there within reason. I went to Glasgow and Sofia with my mates and we did not go with official travel (never do to away games). Had a great time in both Cities drinking all day with the locals and opposition fans always do. Drinking on the streets - yes possibly stop Corporate Celebration - have rules (why are away boxes behind the Blackburn end anyway?) If the boot had been on the other foot last night and I know what I would have been doing if we had won All fans taunt each other thats what it is all about. Last night was a massive game for both clubs and Celtic came out on top. Maybe the cordons should have been further away from the ground but all I saw last night was what you normally see at alot of high profile matches
  3. Absolutely Revidge but I will go with Anti Euro to exempt Craig Short from this. Yet again the players and GS go mouthing off in the media and cock it all up again - Fulham anybody? What's all this @#/? about staying in the Premier League malarkey - some people are living in dream world thinking we are going to be on the top six if we carry on like we are, relegation more like - if we can't take a game like last night seriously then we have got big big problems. If we are good enough we will stay in the Premier League regardless of how many games we play or whoever we play. Last night was an embarrassment and we deserved everything we got. Sorry but the apathy that GS seemed to be showing going into this competition transpired itself last night into the players. The annoying thing was we where not beaten by a good team, but by a team that WANTED to win - which to me is what it is all about. ABSOLUTELY BLOODY AWFUL!!
  4. Not just that Wide-Bhoy it puts people on edge which could make them act differently to anybody from what they normally would eg suspicion rather than welcome which in turn can resort to resentment. Hope you have a good day like our goodselves did in Glasgow -except for the result of course
  5. SteB Woodlands Preston new road -think its changed its name now Where the Rovers players used to hang out - Ally Dawson ring any bells?
  6. Not worried as I am a season Ticket Holder Can't see JW though just a picture of a football
  7. SteB Text us where open later on - u have the number Ta
  8. Revidge I know, however mine has got a bloody great white streak through the midle of it and looks forged - anybody else's similar?
  9. So does anybody know if/what pubs are going to be closed? Are us ROVERS fans going to have to drink out of town while the Celtic Fans receive all the hospitality and get their own Marquee/Pubs etc? There where no problems in Glasgow so why all the fuss - in fact quite enjoyed drinking with the Celtic Fans
  10. Pabby I got the same reply but on the phone But they did say if you send something in writing you will probably get what you need if there are any left by then
  11. Big Kenny I will take you up on that offer - I had a tremendous breakfast in Glasgow on Friday morning and wish I had bought so more now. Take it you have a ticket?
  12. Here! Here! TD Inc - and my feet are still bloody killing me. What cracks me up about ROVERS fans is the panic that seems to kick in before we go anywhere for any significant game -Cardiff/Sofia/Glasgow etc. People tend to listen to the scaremongers instead of finding out for themselves. Yes Glasgow does have its rough parts like any other major City but so does Blackburn and surrounding areas. I must admit that I was quite impressed with old 'Glasgee' and the people we met. Was not long ago that good old Accy was mentioned in the The Telegraph/Observer (can't just remember which) as being the busiest town in the country on a Sunday - yet to people outside of Accrington(Bollton/Burnley/Blackburn/Burnley/Wigan/Rossendale) the roughest. Never once did I feel threatened in Glasgow - overpowering and a sight to be seen in the pubs beforehand but something not to be missed - just a shame about the lack of atmosphere from the Celtic fans inside of the ground or maybe that was just because we played that well. I wan't some potato scones NOW!!
  13. Not bad call there Cmonthehoops But you could pair any two of the four up front and have a world class team Take it you'll be there tomorrow , see ya there. GOD - How excited am I, just can't wait!!
  14. I just hope its not like Sofia and we go 3-0 up and end up drawing (or losing) but I wouldn't mind us scoring 3!! See ya in Glasgae
  15. SMc_Celtic So Celtic fans do pick their matches? This is the point I was trying to make. It is common knowledge that Celtic would sell out for both games but because the Club bundled it with your Cup tickets, was there some 'meaning behind this'? ie was there an larger allocation on offer to the ROVERS or are we as fans just looking for something that I believe the ROVERS re our allocation and I have no beef with Celtic over it as I believe you should accommodate the home fans first regardless, however I can say that as I have a ticket. I have missed out on tickets for ROVERS games previously when I think I thought I was more entitled than some who got tickets eg Liverpool - however that is life - and no doubt there are probably people who deserve a Celtic away ticket more than me who haven't got one. The thing with 'us' ROVERS fans which is difficult for the club also, is that we are a very strange bunch to understand so when things of this nature comes up there are always complaints re ticketing. Some games you would expect to sell out don't and some where interest you think would be small do - weird!! its no wonder the club gets confused. Most of the time though once all the hoo hah has boiled down the club seem to have got it right. Just one question what allocation to Rangers get and what do they give your lot for the game at Ibrox? Hope you enjoyed yourself last night better result than last time!!
  16. Same here GAV and I'm sure there are quite a few others who missed Liverpool also. I too have got a ticket I think? (still can't get hold of my mate though so think I need to check with the Club) As I have said many times before on this MB which ever way the club use to sort tickets they are always going to upset some people and that will continue. The season we won the Championship I ended up going in the Everton end as I could not get a ticket even though I had most away stubs from that season. The last away game in Div1 at Gillingham I thought I was going to miss because I missed the QPR game when they gave out the vouchers (which was not very well publicised at all), luckily a lad I know actually had some spare. The annoying thing about this was, when the fixture list came out at the beginning of the Season I earmarked this game thinking that this could be the game for promotion and checked out the allocation for away fans knowing that their was building work going on at the ground, there was the possibility that as Gillingham had just come up they might be in a relegation battle and I knew the away allocation was not that big anyway. As such I also booked accommodation and asked the Club if I could apply (also for Burnley and Preston) or at least put my name down for some tickets - to which I got a big NO. As such when the Gillingham game came about I was a bit miffed when I heard about the voucher situation and was trying to get tickets for the home end, luckily I got sorted with tickets, but only after alot of asking. So all sorts of situations tend to happen but I did get over it in the end. The situation with regards to the away tickets for Celtic from my point of view is understandable, as I have said on a earlier post, Celtic have massive support and are just trying to accommodate their own fans. I believe the ROVERS, however, the problem here is the rumour is coming from the Celtic Fans - and why did Celtic bundle this game with the Inv Cally if they thought they would sell all the tickets - are not all Celtic games sold out anyway? As the saying goes 'there is no smoke without fire' so it is understandable why fans are asking. Anyway I think a lot of people have now accepted the situation with regard to the away tickets, but the club have made a big Faux Pas on the home tickets. As said before and by other people on this board, the club keep coming out that they cannot compete with the 'bigger clubs' unless our home crowds increase and they keep coming out with the schemes to get more people on. This would have been the ideal situation to do this and also possibly give us a slight advantage with the backing of the crowd. In defence of the club though, as you and Tris and SteB rightly state our crowds of late home and away have not done anything to justify why they have not made the correct decision here. but I think it goes to show how out of step the club are with the fans. My annoyance on this situation is there are a lot of fans who have not been to a game for years who think they have a right to a ticket. The club have a DB which they have stated on numerous occasions they will use which I think this is what they should have done in this situation - but don't appear to be using. I know its a case of after the horse has bolted, but as a lot of fans realise, something now needs to be sorted. I have said it before and will say it again - especially to the the posters who are on the Fans Forum - what happens in these meetings? - let it be known because this is where topics of this nature should be sorted.
  17. SMc_Celtic I don't doubt your word Depending on whether its an overnight stay (not sure yet - here's hoping) I aim to get in a quite a few pubs and just carry of from the excellent time we had in Sofia
  18. I can't wait SMc_Celtic!!
  19. For those with tickets here's a taster http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk/images_parkhead2.html http://www.eurostadiums.com/countries.php?co=scotland Click on Celtic - Looks like we might be in the area to the left on the third picture down on the second link -there's a pole there - if anybody can confirm
  20. One thing that I don't think people will have thought about is the next round or the one after that.... Just suppose we beat Celtic which I think we can and go through The suppposed Big Guns from the Champions League drop into the competition and although we wouldn't be able to draw another English team until the next round, there is every possibility that the ticket situation could arise again. Now if this does happen the interesting thing will be how they allocate tickets then? Can't exactly use the Celtic ticket scenario. I know this is possibly unlikely, as I don't think there is any other tie left for us that could interest every man and his dog - unless of course we progress and Liverpool drop in.
  21. Beat me to it Tris. :'> Chaps Me thinks Liverpool on Boxing Day
  22. Steb stop worrying me I think you will have got your ticket Speaking to the Ticket office on Saturday they said we where guarranteed them as long as we handed them in on Saturday with voucher P. We put ours in x5 and they asked us if we wanted them posted or if we wanted to collect. We opted for the collection even had to leave telephone number name of who was collecting and date of collection - one of the lads is going down Friday, so I do hope you are wrong and have been mis-informed Now if there has been a cock up the ticket office better start preparing for some major backlash and I mean major.
  23. Did anybody else hand in their applications on Saturday? (besides you SteB)
  24. Steb So do I as he sits in front of us on the same row as you (I think) and not far from you - can't wait for tomorrow You beat me to that - it wasn't long ago that there was a thread on here about supporting other teams also(of which Celtic seemed to have a large majority) and what I consider a load of bo##ux. I asked the question then of who they will support if we ever played each other to which I got told was irrelevant as it probably wouldn't happen, so I ask again - now you hypocrites who are you going to support? Tris I don't think anybody wants them to go on open sale - the club has said if you have record of buying tickets before 8 October you will be ok - however they have underestimated the amount of interest in this game by going full out and giving Celtic all the Darwen End, and that is what has annoyed people.
  25. ha ha TD Inc -could be But then again they got rumour you would be getting a ticket with those extra large collars of yours.
