I honestly believe it’s down to him not being aggressive enough in his pursuit of good defenders. There are good options out there but he is being willingly neglectful. We have secured good attacking players yet we are extremely short at the back and to top it off, he is sending players out on loan! if this bites us in the arse, I will be glad to see him sacked!

I refuse to get over excited during any transfer window since that year we signed Etuhu and Murphy. Thought we were onto a winner with those two and look how that turned out. Wigan may well have signed some dross but equally they may have bought some gems. I remain hopeful as always but I will wait until January/February before I get too carried away. Still need a couple of additions before the window closes and I have heard from someone who is chatty with people at the club that we are interested in others. But, as we have seen already, it is extremely difficult to sign anyone.

Yes I heard the same about 12 months ago. It’s been on the cards for a long time. When Dunny worked at Rovers, I heard all sorts of tidbits. Not so much now.

I heard before the beginning of this last season that TM and MV were not big fans of Raya and saw he had many areas which were lacking. They have wanted a more experienced keeper for at least this entire season and selling Raya was always on the cards. I heard this this over a year ago but when nothing materialised, I assumed things had changed.

I’m happy with the way today has ended. It would have been nice to have a big name come in but that would have been my heart ruling my head.
