  1. If they are they shouldn't be at the club. We need to get a decent keeper on loan in January.
  2. A quote from Brad Friedel before the 2002 League Cup final.
  3. Lose to the Millers and we'll feel the hot breath of Sheff Wed snapping at our heels. If JDT doesn't start to change things (other than personnel) when needed during a game, I'm afraid we're going down.
  4. At least JDT has shaken things up a bit. Let's hope it works.
  5. Neil Warnock would keep us up with this squad if he came in. Why? Because he knows what it takes to get a squad of players playing to their best ability.
  6. Jim, I think we are going down. I remember 1966 when we had really good players. Everyone kept saying,"too good to go down". Ha! If JDT doesn't change his tactics it's League 1 next season.
  7. "Cash strapped", hey? So much for Venky's promise to uphold Jack's legacy
  8. All Prem clubs complaining of the same thing. Far too many injuries.
  9. Bring it on. One other thing. I'm beginning to criticise JDT. Regardless of a small squad and no money to sign strikers, he hasn't got a clue as to change or manage a game or personnel for that matter. When players are knackered, get them off the pitch and give some teenagers a chance with fresh legs. Reorganise the defence. Reorganise the formation. Change the way we play. Swap wingers etc. etc. Unfortunately JDT doesn't seem to be able to do this. I still blame owners and Waggot for a lot but JDT is coming across as rather incompetent, game after game.
  10. I was just thinking that we old codgers keep reminiscing about things from long ago and I wonder what the younger fans think. I know what I would have thought if social media had existed in the early 1960s and people had been on there raving about Harry Healless and Sid Puddefoot etc. Then some old fogey comes on and says. "Ah, but did you see Eddie Latheron" blah de blah. I would have loved it.
  11. Nothing new for poor old Rovers. Ken Furphy went to Sheff Utd taking Tony Field. Earlier Johnny Carey went to Everton and took Roy Vernon. Such is football. It was just the nastiness of Westwood and the money that bugged me.
  12. You're not as old as me, Dee Cee. I remember their chairman, Lord Westwood. who was also on the committee of the Football League. We had some problem with Glen Keeley coming to us and them stealing our manager, Gordon Lee. Bad blood between the clubs and I, for one, will never forget it. Much prefer the black cats.
  13. I wouldn't bother. Buy a Burnley shirt with the name "Waggot" on the back.
  14. I thought they could do better than that. Oh well. Higher up the league for us.
  15. On Tuesday12th Dec I bought a £10 pass to watch the Bristol City game. I watched the first half on a small screen. It would not go to full screen. At half time I looked for other information on the site. After half time I could not get back to the match, faffing around. Eventually I managed to rejoin it just after Scotty had scored. I complained bitterly and explained I use Safari browser. Their reply told me to use another browser. I refuse to do so. Why can't they sort out their site to make it compatible with Safari? I have no issues with other sites when using it. Shocking from Rovers. They really are turning me away from the club.
  16. Can't find Finneran in the youth squads on Rovers' site.
  17. I note that one of your posters is 22A. That was the LMS region shed in Bristol in my early days of train spotting. It was changed to 82E Bristol (Barrow Road). One of the 9 jubilees I never saw was shedded there, 45690 Leander. Say hello to him from me. He must be a similar age.............bloody old.
  18. I said not many would agree. But he has taken over a team in dire straits. I thought he did an excellent job at Bristol City.
  19. I know lots on this board will disagree with me but, if JDT were to leave us, I would want Lee Johnson from Fleetwood Town. I have always liked the way his teams have played and I like the way he talks about football. I think he could do a good job for us under the circumstances. Having said that, I forgot for a moment that our owners couldn't care less. Down to Earth with a bang!
