  1. Well, Nelsen is back with Khiz dropping to the bench, and, Kuqi starting and Bentley taking Bretts place on the right
  2. Spuds guy at work just mentioned that Defoe and Davids are being rested :-) Lets just hope its true
  3. They would have closed down most public channels so theres more capacity for the emergency services. Does anyone work for virgin mobile??
  4. Don't worry, i'll be there. Only £15 for a return from Gloucester to Cardiff Central. I'll have some of that thank you very much. Bringing another Rover and unfortunately a gooner with me but he's promised he won't cheer. I told him i'll chuck him in the hooligan enclosure if he does
  5. Have a look at a map and you'll notice there's a ****ing big river estuary slap bang between Bristol and Cardiff. The tunnel the trains go through is 4 1/2 miles long. It took thousands of men nearly 15 years and 76 million bricks to build it (opened in 1886). They didn't build a spare one. Comedy genius, you're wasted in your current role Sod government cutbacks......... Bloody I K Brunel I blame - Pioneer of engineering, my arse What sort of clown wouldn't account for things such as these
  6. I would just like to say that pretty much everyone(except phil l i think) has overlooked Flitty. Did you notice how much ground he actually covered yesterday?! He just seemed to be popping up everywhere and trying to break things up every time Everton thought they might get a bit of time on the ball. Reid - I agree was probably man of the match. Showed good touches, power, pace and good driving runs forward. Pre-match I was unconvinced with Mokoena starting. I would have been more inclined to start with Flitty between the defense and midfield and leave Emerton in the starting line-up with the others. Moko has made me a little nervous on more than one occasion. It seems to be his eagerness rather than his ability that has had me questioning him lately. Although I still thought, at times, he was a little rash, i'm glad he proved me wrong and had a great game simply getting in the way everytime Everton pumped the ball or attempted to run forward with it. How good is that guy in the air too?? Our 2 centre halfs - nothing more to say really. They were just as impressive as they have been since Nelsen has arrived and played in the centre. I think some of you still gave Lucas a bit of an unecessary bashing aswell. I thought he was good. Put in lots of effort and looked good getting forward (albeit, not that far up the pitch). Everyone else I think played well enough and it was just great to see us play with pride, passion and belief. Last word to Steady though. For all his effort and desire to do well, he really didn't look up to it when he first came on. As someone else mentioned, I could see him being replaced half way through the second half if he hadn't have picked up his game. A little pep talk from Sparky and Marky at half-time made all the difference i'm sure. Good running and good control throughout the 2nd half saw him rewarded with a great goal and hopefully get him on a little surge. Come on Jon, lets make it double figures for the season All in all, very pleased at seeing a performance like that after the way we played Tuesday. Come on Rovers, Onwards and Upwards!!!!!
  7. There are many options open to him visa-wise, now that he is in the UK... he wont go... Why doesn't he just marry an english bird. With his unquestionable looks, his burly frame and chiselled jaw line, i;m sure he could find......... ohhh..... ok , ok Even with his questionable looks, it's not like there won't be a woman out there who would say no to, perhaps, £10k to wed him to grant him citizenship. I'm no cynic
  8. I can survive not being in BBE if only i can get 2 together anywhere in the ground. Surely last row of JW must have some! Dan You can get one in front of the other in BBE half of Riverside as I have just changed them seats and we are now in BBE lower. (Still one in front of the other but would just rather be in BB end) Get on the blower pal
  9. The original rush has obviously died down now. Phoned up for my ticket yesterday morning and was on hold for an hour and half. Found another Gloucester based Rover who wants to come so I phoned again this morning to get one for him. Only had to hold for about 20 minutes. Reportedly, there are no longer any substantial queues at Ewood so anyone who wants a ticket has no excuse for not getting one - get your ass down to Ewood and queue for 1o minutes or give them a bell and wait for a maximum of half hour and collect your ticket on Tuesday. Easy!! Fairplay to the Ticket Office for managing to get my mates ticket immediately in front of me, but one thing that has ###### me off is the fact I was told yesterday that BBE lower was sold out and I couldn't have one for the upper because I was only ordering one ticket. I now find out today that people are still buying tickets in BBE lower. What the F is going on there???? If I ring them again tomorrow, what are the chances of changing seats so we can sit in the BBE? Anyone know?
  10. Lee - How far back does the clubs database for buying tickets go? Any ideas? I haven't bought a ticket myself since the year we came back up. I always get someone else to pop down the ticket office for me. Can I do a bit of name dropping if they get funny? ".......well Lee Grooby said......"
  11. They're busy at the moment. I had to call back 3 times before I actually got in the queue but it only took me about 25 mins to get through after that.
  12. Ok, we'll start playing our strikers there. See how we fair then
  13. What a Cock!!!! lack of premiership experience hasn't been too detrimental to Carvalho, Fereira, Gallas, Tiago, etc at Chelsea. Henry, Pires, Ljungberg for Arsenal. ...and the tens upon tens more players around the premier league who had no premiership experience. Think about what you're saying Who doesn't learn
  14. That must be one helluva big coach!! Maybe it's the new air"bus" A380(??) that they're hiring. My understanding is that it's making it's maiden voyage today and i've heard its a pretty big bus. It's even got restaurants, bars and casinos on board. So i suppose as long as it's not too wide for the motorways, they'll be using it to get 'up north'.
  15. Barney, I can't make it so you can have the front seat and let the other 2 fight it out Christmas has completely done my wallet in and still 2 weeks til payday At least Bolton was worth it Chelsea at home might be possible. You and Andy will have to keep me up to date on if and when you're going.
  16. Thats the linesmans job anyway. Might aswell just go back to the other idea of having 2 linesmen per line
  17. The former I agree with, the latter... bite your tongue. It might not be your flavour, but it's unfair to compare it with Gridiron. But the commercialisation (nice Bushism) of it is sending it down the same route. Cheerleaders between halves.......... and there'll soon be 4 halves just like NFL......... (well not 4 halves, but you know what I mean) ?? 20 mins per 1/4 seperated by 30 minute intermissions Whatever next........... bellydancers, fire eaters and sword swallowers (of the truly entertaining variety ) as half time entertainment ???? No thanks Sorry, maybe I should have pointed it out more clearly that this is the path RL is taking, or at least appears to be. Dont you agree?!
  18. Both good arguments , but dont you think the game would be slowed down drastically and all momentum and flow taken out of the game at crucial points?? Yeah fair enough, with cricket and tennis its fine as it doesnt disrupt the flow of the game, but i'm dead against it in games where tempo can be key. Cricket - Its that slow a game, you could paint a wall between balls so a quick diversion to the big screen for a run out decision is no major deal. No disruption. Tennis - Now they have probably got it right. A simple buzz triggered by light sensors in the ball crossing / not crossing 'the line' and the umpires decision is made with no interruption. I think this advancement is as much as is needed to be introduced into football at the moment, and reportedly, the principal is to be used in the league cup final with sensors in the ball and goalposts & crossbars. A buzz or bleep to confirm when the ball has crossed the line is sufficient. We don't want the beautiful game turning into the farce of a game known as American Football or Rugby League.
  19. what??? i thought it said has northern rover got a fat. Umm, yeah he's got a bit why p.s who the dont use that word again are you??
  20. Whoever he is, no-one can disagree with the above statement. Matteo Out!!! Oh ######, am I roverdrake in disguise
  21. I think too many people are missing the point here. Yes, unquestionably, the standards of today are way and above the standard being played when Forrest was around but the point that people like Den are trying to make is that Forrest was the very best of his generation and was shrouded in regular and comparitive (to nowadays) glory. Maybe Forrest did work full time down the pits and then enjoy a few jars after his game on the saturday, but that was the culture back then. Whats to say if he was around now he would be doing the same. No he wouldn't 'cos he simply would not be taken on by any teams whilst living that kind of lifestyle. He would have adapted to modern regimes. (Well actually he wouldn't have needed to because the professional environment would be one which he was schooled in in the first place) He himself would have improved as the game improved and modernised itself, regardless of whether it was 20 years, 50 years or 100+ years ago. The fact of the matter is, he was the best player of his era and if he was still around now, with the technology, diet, facilties, training and methods of modern day football, he would still be the best NOW!! EDIT: Ooops, forgot to add, just in case you hadn't already gathered - Forrest everytime over the over-paid and over-rated Sherwood.
  22. Matteo!!!!!! are you joking SS? If i ever see the man in a Rovers shirt again it will be far, far too soon. He is an absolute useless disgrace to football. His performances have been far worse than any of the rest of our defence for the last 2 seasons. Including Amo I actually truly believe that he is the worst defender I have ever seen at Ewood. Ranking alongside, or maybe even worse than Darren Peacock and Patrick Valery. He should be demoted to the reserves immediately and maybe he'll get the picture and (Please don't use that word again) off somewhere else. (Thats what I did with him on FM)
  23. Den, why would it be nice??? Wouldn't it be even better to have a number of players that we were simply unable to seperate? Don't you think having 2 clear winners shows that maybe we haven't had that many "greats"? I would rather have 8 different players all challenging for the mantle of 'Rovers Greatest ...'. At least this really would show the sort of talent we have had at Ewood and should be priveleged (as Rovers fans) to be associated with.
