  1. Sounds like he has had enough if this tweet by the chief football writer for the East Anglian Times is anything to go by. Hopefully Ipswich supporters get their champagne football on a tap room budget next season, I'll be putting a dollar or two on them getting relegated BREAKING: Mick McCarthy has quit #itfc - Speaks for 3mins about game then says on reaction to Cotter sub: 'That was disgraceful reaction but listen I won't have to listen to it again because that's my last game, I'm out of here'. Bangs desk with hands and marches out press room https://twitter.com/Stuart_Watson/status/983811521196126209
  2. Following this evening's victory over Barnsley, Mick McCarthy has left Ipswich Town Football Club with immediate effect. #itfc https://twitter.com/Official_ITFC/status/983811368993292288
  3. Was the company linked to the mining industry? Just wondering how it survived prior to Thatcher when the Labour party closed more mines than Thatcher ever did
  4. During my apprenticeship in the early 80's "wallop them walls" referred to painting with Crown emulsion , term was still used when we switched to another brand. Always puzzled me until I asked one of the older decorators what wallop referred to.
  5. Looks like Holt is trolling the EFL , another victory another McDonalds https://twitter.com/AndyhHolt/status/982670298934923264 and https://twitter.com/AndyhHolt/status/982674066728476674
  6. The farce of a lawsuit did not help (10 million $ judgement against Commodore) but with initial sales in the UK and Europe and it accounting for (from memory) approx 40% of all cd system based sales the Christmas after launch the base was there for it to push on. True to farce Commodore International management even with stock elsewhere they messed up the supply chain on components so could not meet demand from Europe /Canada. The biggest mistake imo was not developing ,announcing and releasing the A1200 add on with the akiko chip at the same time as the cd32 launch , which would have probably doubled the number of cd32 users, and given software developers a push to get behind the system. Just a pity Commodore UK pulled out of the bidding after the Com Int bankruptcy sale. Must admit was still using my modified 1200 as a main comp well into 2002,
  7. "I think you're only missing the Atari Jaguar, the Neo Geo and the one Commodore made then you'll have all of them" The Amiga CD32, great bit of kit although probably a year late, mind you even if it was a year earlier I am sure the big bods at Commodore would have still screwed it up somehow. Although the CD32 lack of success was probably due to it not being able to be sold in the US
  8. I think that depends on how much FIFA bag in sponsorship income for VAR replays, it will have nothing whatsoever to do with if it is a disaster from a game point of view. Will be interesting to see if there are any guarantees written into the contracts for VAR sponsors. "Sterling falls in the box with no Belgian player within a metre of him, was he tripped or did he slip on the wet surface, whilst we review the VAR for the eighth time in this game, Don't let your car slip on wet surfaces use bridgestone wet winter tyres the official sponsor of WC2018 England v Belgium VAR"
  9. Just been to Bunnings (DIY store) this morning and seen this promoting new stock
  10. Not as loud as those bloody EA sports ads when you forget to turn the volume down at the end of the first half !
  11. If it is anything like goal line technology , it has to be approved by FIFA who collect a nice licencing fee for each system installed, obviously money is not the reason that FIFA are in favour of VAR . Call me cynical but I expect it to interrupt games a lot during the world cup $$$$$$ Le Floc’h also revealed that Fifa were in discussions with potential sponsors for the VAR system, adding: “We are talking to various technological companies who are very interested with what we are doing on the technology side of things.” VAR usage at the World Cup is likely to lead to delays in games in Russia as different angles are reviewed, potentially allowing Fifa to brand the segment on the global broadcast feed. http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/fifa-in-talks-with-potential-sponsors-after-confirming-var-for-2018-world
  12. Would not commit yourself too early chaddy what about if the below came about. I think VAR could work if you had 10 Cameras feeding 10 review screens and be set up like this REVIEW COACH** MONITOR MONITOR MONITOR MONITOR * MONITOR * MONITIOR MONITOR*** MONITOR MONITOR MONITOR *these two monitors for show as they are not real monitors for these positions ** Review coach sounds more foreign and sexy than review manager, of course he would report to the Director of Reviews *** This monitor could play a number 10 roll and be pushed up a bit more If we had to replace any of the monitors I would like to see us bring in Eizo (if money was no object) Asus, HP, Ben Q , Acer, Dell etc (got a list of other monitor signings I would like to sign , pm me if interested). Been watching monitors for 40 + years so quite an expert
  13. Probably not in the Celeb category, but just announced Mark E Smith (The Fall) has died. Always looked forward to a new Fall album as John Peel once said about them , The Fall, always different, always the same
  14. And the changes are already being made , particularly like this one Credit: https://twitter.com/realsuedeshoes/status/956204359322398721
  15. You forget the element of the arrogant referee who is never wrong, a prime example last night in the Perth Glory v Melchester City game, dubious penalty given after a player fell over in the box, prime for referal to VAR, did not happen, in the system that is currently running in the A league the person viewing the VAR can not ask the referee to review it, but can only bring it to the refs attention if an incident involves a penalty that as not been given. The incident was replayed on the big screen from three different angles whilst the players were arguing with the ref, personally did not think it was a penalty (80/20)*, a couple of glory players away from the initial incident , remonstrations were watching the big screen replays ran over to the ref straight away gesturing to the ref to look at the replays . The referee last night has form for odd decisions. Mind you A league refereeing seems on par with League 1 if not slightly worse. As mentioned in posts above an expensive waste of time , wonder if FiFA are on a % like the goal line technology Can see it being used in the future as a good excuse for advertising for tv companies even two 30 second ads in a big game can rake in the cash, whilst the VAR is reviewing the decision *Only seen it at the game and left my specs in the car so could be wrong
  16. It has not gone down to well with supporters in the A League and they are still getting decisions wrong even after reviews, The upside to it is that with the time it is taking to make a decision, you can go queue up and get a coffee and visit the toilet without missing any of the action or in the case of Perth Glory games its a nice respite from the boredom Plenty of links from a google search regarding VAR in the A league this season available.
  17. Obliviously a secret Manure or Liverpool supporter otherwise he would have named his fashion label/shops blue or dead
  18. Had this happen a couple of times, but found that if you refresh the page a couple of times it starts the stream (on chrome) then you go full screen
  19. Looks like it started the other week, the ifraud follow customer service said it is not technically possible for both the audio and video streams to come from the same account at the same time (although it was before they flipped a switch ) Looking around other clubs forums etc it seems I follow are blaming the clubs for the lack of commentary on the video and the clubs blaming ifollow, EFL keeping stum and taking their cut Of course no response directly from the EFL on their ifollow email address who are proving to be as much use as their mates at the FA Integrity committee Shame really the concept is good and if everything worked as promised at the beginning worth the money. Not seen or heard of any work arounds yet
  20. Both teams at times trying to play decent football, we are falling to bits when when we get it in the box (apart from a couple of early chances) , Dack is running the game for us. Personally think we are unlucky to be behind, but Peterborough look half decent
  21. Just replayed it definitely not Raya at fault, btw are ifollow blocking you from running commentary as well as video at the same time?
  22. If anybody is in Perth for the test match at the WACA, and fancies going to watch Perth Glory v Wellington Pheonix on Sat 16th 7.00pm KO (WA Time) , got two vouchers with my PG season ticket that can be exchanged for FREE Match tickets on day of match.
