  1. Nowt wrong with these babies. Quality and class.
  2. Could have done with that before I reversed into some railings at Chorley Hospital yesterday. Mind you, the Primera I had, did have rear view camera's, never hit anything with that.
  3. To me, with that list of candidates, it feels like Hughes left years ago.
  4. none Ozz. I was in a waiting room though. Me mate was having Physio at Ormskirk hospital after having a new knee fitted.
  5. He had drunk 10 pints of lager and 5 bottles of Lager that night.
  6. I was reading an edition of Lancashire Life yesterday. It was last years edition, but there was an article about Craig Short in it. He talked about his 6 yrs at Blackburn and said they were the 6 best years of his life. He also recalled living on a boat in the Lakes and driving down to Brockhall for training, then returning afterwards. He never liked golfing like most other players and always loved sailing. He's now [or was last year] running a sailing school at Windermere. He's also taking a coaching badge as back up, in case he ever feels the need to go back into football.
  7. Not one player from a team outside the top four? Not surprising really, bet he's not been down to Ewood for years.
  8. You think Andy Taylor is a better right back than Steven Reid? [cue, - he couldn't be worse].
  9. Taylor is a left back.
  10. 190 posts on the Andy Taylor topic and this is your second one. Was the first one as interesting?
  11. Thanks Eddie. He can't prove that argument, nor can anyone disprove it. You would have thought though, that at least one of the young lads, having left ewood while still in their teens - and had the benefit of exposure to another clubs coaching/first team, would have made it back to the Prem - wouldn't you? It hasn't happened in the last ten years at least.
  12. We all know rover6's point Eddie. He can't unfortunately back up anything he says with names of academy players that rovers have released, that have gone on to become Prem players elsewhere. Not one.
  13. Yes Stu. Right again.
  14. Whenever I saw Kevin Pezzoni play, he didn't strike me as being one that was destined to make it. Yes he was slow, but he wasn't that clever as a footballer either. I saw many, many youngsters with more promise than Pezzoni fall by the wayside. What would I know though, I only saw him play.
  15. Where all your arguments fall down Rover6, is that you apply that logic to all the academy lads. Why pick Andy Taylor out now, - because he's just won the Tranmere Rovers young player of the year. - Not POTY, because he isn't even Tranmere Rovers best player, - but young POTY! Not exactly compulsive evidence of him being good enough to play at Premier league level. The real truth that you ignore, is that Andy Taylor isn't good enough to play against the best teams in the land. One more point, you say that he might have been a better player if he'd been given a few appearances for rovers first team. Well he's getting first team football at Tranmere, so has he improved enough to get a transfer into a Prem club? Obviously not, why not?
  16. or this Rover6
  17. Accidental then, is it?
  18. IIRC, the academy was seperated from the rest of the Ewood set-up a couple of seasons ago. The idea being that when managers are changed, it doesn't have a detrimental effect on the academy. This is meant to bring more stability to the youth system.
  19. Is Andy Taylor good enough for the first team?
  20. Rover6, one more go from me - when you say he deserved squad experience, do you mean he should have played first team football? If yes, it's because someone else like the "reasonable" Darren Fletcher made it at Old Trafford. Someone BTW, who has more talent in his right toe than Andy Taylor has overall.
  21. Oh not again. What do you mean when you say he deserved squad experience? Do you mean he was, or would have been good enough for the first team? Because if he wasn't, he shouldn't be in the squad. - and please don't reply with "neither was so and so".
  22. It wasn't criticism of Treacy, it was an observation. Would you disagree with those observations. As for Mokoena, you wont find any comments on here saying what a good footballer he is. Some people think he occassionally does a good job in the last 25 mins or so, when we need to defend a lead. Trouble is, that you use Mokoena as a benchmark football wise, to judge another players ability. That's absolutely crackers.
  23. I guess that's based on the "because it hasn't happened yet" theory.
  24. No contract offer yet. Apparently he would like another season.
