PNE’s game plan has to be to defend the 1-0 for next 40 mins. We need the second one, please don’t drop the pace rovers.

I was going to post that that was brilliant, but I won’t do because it’s certain to bring the hoodoo on us.

So what do I personally want tonight? Easy, a win. Would I take a draw now? No, absolutely not. Can’t think of any reason whatsoever why any roverite would do that. what do I not want to see? I don’t want to see North End do what too many sides have done, not just this season but for too many seasons now - taking points while doing next to nothing to merit them. I don’t want to see rovers throwing players forwards while leaving big gaps at the back and the back four continually exposed. I want North End, if they do come away with points, to have had their hardest game for a long time. I want them to earn whatever they get, not just take whatever we give them. That really isn’t too much to expect IMO.

North end aren’t like us, they are well organised defensively and don’t play a game as openly as we do, so can’t see us scoring too many here. For once, we need to put a clean sheet top of the game plan, but has Mowbray got that in him?

Go back to 4-4-2. Make the back four and midfield four solid, with stopping the opposition a priority to all of them. Heck that should be any average teams plan. When you are continually exposing the defence it’s as much as you can do. Go back to basics. We are currently trying to be Barcelona and it’s not working.

I have a hatred towards North End. If you knew how their fans go on about how much bigger a club they are and how they have thousands more fans than us, you guys might feel different.

I knew it would go against the grain saying what I did Sparks, but I do believe that the way Grealish plays the game slows things down too much.

As much as Grealish is an excellent footballer, I’m not convinced that his game is suited to top international football. As a striker wanting the early ball, you could get pretty frustrated IMO. what an easy win that was for Belgium tonight. That says it all really.
