  1. I knew it would go against the grain saying what I did Sparks, but I do believe that the way Grealish plays the game slows things down too much.
  2. As much as Grealish is an excellent footballer, I’m not convinced that his game is suited to top international football. As a striker wanting the early ball, you could get pretty frustrated IMO. what an easy win that was for Belgium tonight. That says it all really.
  3. Died aged 72.
  4. Gosh. What a terrible game. Rovers defended like warriors in their own area, apart from that nothing.
  5. Yep. Hopefully they’ll get even more bored and give up. Fancy a draw then.
  6. No and I wouldn’t bet on him doing. He’s absolutely hopeless on crosses.
  7. We’ll learn a lot more about Pears tonight.
  8. Another rovers line up that’s full of gaping holes. I’ll be amazed if we don’t concede two at least. 1-0 rovers.
  9. It’s just a feeling, just something says he didn’t look right, didn’t look confident. As you say it’s hard to point out any mistakes he made, but for some reason he looked like a young academy keeper thrown in too soon. best I can do.
  10. You have to give Reading some credit though. For their centre half to hit the back of Douglas’s heel from 80 yards away is an incredible skill.
  11. Holtbys the last player I’d have taken off. Gallagher was always going to weaken us.
  12. Why did he take Holtby off - was he injured? Looked our best player to me.
  13. Never has an away team done so little and score so many.
  14. Hope that pitch is holding up. It’s not stopped raining for about a month.
  15. If you watch their first goal, when the cross came in we had two defenders marking nobody and the unmarked Watford player had all the freedom he needed to score. That’s ball watching meaning they had no idea what was happening behind them. Basic footballing discipline. Mowbrays problem is that we are sometimes too hung ho, but if we approach the game with a little more caution we can’t keep the opposition out. You would think as a defender he could sort that out. Big Sam could.
  16. I agree with a lot of those comments, but what we did display last night was not having a clue how to win the game. Within 17 mins of kick off we had basically lost the three points. All the above is great. It’s the way top sides play from the KO. - moving the ball quickly, good player movement, accurate passing, ball retention etc. Great to watch. The top sides though usually have world class defenders at the back and can still retain their discipline. Their players don’t tend to get dragged out of position. Rovers though don’t have that. The back four as a unit are just - IMO - slow to assess the dangers of the breakaway get caught ball watching when crosses come in and to be fair to them don’t always get the cover from the midfielders who have wandered upfield without looking behind them. Decent sides will see all this, sit back and hit us on the break knowing they can cause us problems. For me, while we play good football at times, we are very naive with the game plan. Oh and the back four are so fragile defensively.
  17. Watford’s strikers wouldn’t mind playing against us every game. That tells you the problem. That back four is fragile.
  18. So frustrating. Played excellent football for most of the game, but bottom line is Watford didn’t have to do anything to score three goals. You have to be a super team to overcome that.
  19. Some of our general play is good. It’s just on the break we’re always vulnerable
