  1. FFS 🤣 I think Stuart must watch a different Blackburn Rovers As for Williams, how do you not grasp that player take time to get up to speed after missing games? World class players even. No offence Stuart but your views strike as being from someone who has never actually sport themselves
  2. Of course 🙄 I mean Mowbray is clearly the one to blame for happened Wharton. Williams too. Mowbray should never have let Rovers sign him before becoming manager. Ridiculous from Mowbray.
  3. Nonsense. You are after going off on a wild and pointless tangent from what posters were discussing. If you don't understand what posters are discussing, just sit it out. I will leave it at that
  4. Watched the highlights again. I will add the first shot it shows Armstrong taking to the list of one's he should have passed, Gallagher made a great run. The keeper made the shot look better by somehow fumbling it. Their goal, ya Douglas, Ayala and Williams not good. Johnson maybe too. Douglas probably the main culprit and Williams for not getting closer.
  5. You are tying yourself in knots. I don't actually know what you are trying to say. What has this got to do with Armstrong being overly greedy?
  6. Obviously I would blame the ref if he denied us 3 clear penalties. Who in their right mind wouldn't? See above for examples where he should have passed. Do you wantch the games actually? I have no idea what you bringing Mowbray up for in this context
  7. Also why do people keep saying Bristol had these amazing chances? We were well on top. O'Dowdas chance was harder then at least 2 Armstrong had. The one where he did the awful first touch and then when he ran straight into the keeper trying to go round him. I would actually add the chance where he nearly hit the corner flag with the left foot shot, just after their defender slid in. Roll that to Gallagher and it's a far easier chance. Another then where he shot straight into a crowd of defenders instead of playing it on again for Elliott who was completely free. Loves a shot into a crowd of defenders so he does. Luckily it worked against Millwall , although that was bouncing so was a bit of elevation on it to start with
  8. He wasn't even considering passing when he picked the ball up. He was going to shoot, no matter what. You wouldn't see Shearer do that and he would have had a far better chance to score! Gallagher and Elliott should have torn him a new one. Some of the lads from the 94/95 certainly would have. It was outrageous. As you say, he can always be greedy, but now he has taken to taking on shots that are next to impossible, with better options available.
  9. Don't care about what other teams or the ref do. Armstrongs greed is something that shouldn't happen to the level it did last night. It's not it's, buts and maybes to say he should have been less greedy and passed to players in better positions. It's fact, he should have.
  10. I don't recall ever seeing such a selfish display to be honest. Does anyone else?
  11. Some fair points, but Armstrong scores or passes one of his many chances last night and we are in the play off places
  12. Ayala is a proper defender. He has been injured, but can you criticize him for that? Whenever he has played he has looked to me like the best center half we have had in a long time and I include Lenihan in that. Even allowing for the ring rust.
  13. The glass ceiling is an imaginary construct that has been labelled on here. We were unlucky last night. I wouldn't say we looked like the players were aware of a glass ceiling. Holtby was poor and Rothwell only showed flashes. Douglas wasteful from set pieces. Armstrong, we have discussed. I believe we will come good this season and have a real rattle at staying in the play off places
  14. We are better defensively though? Apart from Bournmouth and Watford we have generally lost by tight/fine margins. I wouldn't say we are leaking like a sieve We have conceded 4 more goals than the top 2. Both Reading and Stoke who are ahead of us have conceded more goals.
  15. I'm calling it right now. We are beating these Saturday and throwing down a marker. 3-1
  16. Called it the minute they appointed O'Neill. Wildly exceeded expectations wherever he has managed and they have a decent squad
  17. 4 years ago? He played for them in the 17/18 season. Then played almost 30 games for Leeds in the 18/19 season. Then had some injuries, but still featured 17 times for Leeds the season they went up.
  18. Ayala has been good. Much better than Mulgrew defensively. Trybull better than Evans as well. Kaminski is class. Douglas isn't playing great, but that's football-it's not an exact science how quickly players play into form
  19. He barely played and cost peanuts. Came from the Liverpool academy (like Travis) and was worth a gamble. I would certainly have many, many on the list of "inexplicable" signings before him!
  20. He isn't immune to criticism. This team are creating bag loads of chances for him. Last night was a disgrace. Some of the shots he took on you wouldn't see the best players in the world doing it once or twice a game, let alone how many times he did. His teammates are fuming I would say. Put himself before the team BIG STYLE, so I would certainly level blame at him. His goals coring record prior to that, or as you call it "credit in the bank" is irrelevant. He was more to blame for us not scoring last night than anyone else. First goal and we win that game and break through your "glass ceiling". We used to beat the top teams and perform badly against teams we should beat. That to me was raising our game for certain games, but not for others. Now we seem capable of dispatching teams lower down the league and there are fine margins between all the teams in contention for the play-offs. We came out the wrong side last night, but plenty to be positive about.
  21. Douglas hasn't gotten going, but his pedigree at this level speaks for itself. I wouldn't describe him as a "poor signing", just one that hasn't gotten going yet. He hadn't played much when we signed him.
  22. At one stage we were probably the worst hit. Especially when we had players self-isolating, which I suppose was unprecedented. At the moment, there are certainly teams hit worse than us. Bristol being 1 and Norwich another. So it's not an excuse for these games.
  23. We definitely missed Brereton. He gets us up the pitch and wins frees. Hopefully Douglas finds his range with them soon
  24. I am surprised Trybull didn't start. I wonder if Lenihan was fit, would Johnson have played? It was as if he was playing cos he is next in line as captain.
  25. All I have read this morning is you and others say you are sick of people blaming injuries. I haven't read anyone blame injuries for losing this game. Maybe I missed it
