Absolute LOL Plenty of "in the knows" here who in reality "know F all"! RichardOakley, best you sit this next round out
-
When hes walking his dogs, or when he's having a dig at Liverpool.
-
To say it "isn't an achievement" is ignorant. It's an achievement for those who get capped by San Marino or Gibraltar. What's your biggest achievement? You left out McGrath, Finnan , Houghton , Whelan, Lawrenson etc etc
-
I don't rate Williams personally, but that is a ridiculously ignorant statement. Pretty much the entire squad plays in the Premier League. Plus plenty of players over the last 30 plus years would have made the England team, easily.
-
100%. They would barely have to move house. It seems so logical.
-
He's very young I suppose, but there is nothing in that story I would imagine. That source should have been banned from here after the nonsense they posted about Travis.
-
Where have you watched him play? I hadn't heard of him much to be honest
-
God almighty, that is pretty adamant by Sharpes standards.
-
Eh? Stoke were PL far more recently than us and have plenty of talented players. I will name 7 off the top of my head that would make our starting 11, 3 of whom are center halves ; Butland, Baath, Vokes, Afobe, Indi, Allen, Chester EDIT- Looking at their team now, I could actually keep naming players, but I won't
-
Lenihan isn't perfect either , but at least there is scope for improvement

Joe Rothwell - A myth or a prospect?

Ya and it's like he panics when he gets in the position to really hurt a team, in particular when he has more time. He over thinks it -
Tosin had his strengths too, but ya Bauer would have been a good signing. Seems Neil just sold Preston to him more than Mowbray sold Rovers.
-
Ya because had clearly gone to pot the season before
-
I forgot he even started that game. He was shite though and dropped after that though I think? Then there was that mysterious run of events that led to him being spirited out of the club. Had we signed Tosin by game 1? Probably not. I just got the feeling Mulgrew was after being told he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter this season, captain or not.

I think it's summed up by his lack of end product being his undoing. More often than not he picks the wrong option, a lot of the time after doing the hard part. -

How could we have forgotten that crucial game -
Debatable about Bauer, hardly set the world alight I honestly don't know where you have pulled your theory in the last line from. Mulgrew was clearly out of contention and down the pecking order and Adarabioyo did not play 1 game near midfield at senior level, let alone for us. Whatever Mowbrays faults I am close to 100% sure he played Adarabayo exactly where he planned to and where he has consistently said he would from the moment we signed him.
-
Well, he kind of did last season! Not on Whites level, but a good one.
-
Whilst we are plodding along in mid-table every season we just won't be appealing to the real top level loans that are available, plus our scouting needs to improve. If you asked pre-season who got the better player, us or Leeds (Tosin v White) I am sure most would have said us. The fact one is now being mentioned as a 30 million player, whereas the other could plausibly be back on loan in the Championship next season, has to come down to the management they have been under in the last season.
-
I just hope the nucleus of this squad doesn't break up before being utilsied properly. Those 2 centrally, perfect. Evans and Travis, perfect. You get a good keeper, a good centre half and 2 proper wingers. Play 4-4-2 even. Press hard and get the ball forward quickly. I really think that would work for us. Johnson, Downing, Brereton , Holtbyand Gallagher all fine as subs, good options.
-
That article is silly. Why did we have those 2 as our transfer targets if our budget was less than their clubs would accept?I'm confused
-
Ya but apparently more than 10 clubs are interested now, so could be a bidding war.
-
Well I certainly didn't enjoy watching a lot of what I saw last year, particularly since the re-start! It's hardly like we are playing this beautifully expansive style and just just missing out. We are in a bit of no mans land. I don't think we have the players to play the way Mowbray talks about us playing. I reckon we would be better playing a style closer to Burnley. Pressing hard and fast and hitting teams on the counter. Also focusing on getting good at set-pieces. I am not knocking his intentions, but you need to find the players to play that way.
-
I would also take results above all else to be honest.

Same as I said in the post after you. So frustrating. I suppose we have to give Mowbray the benefit of the doubt having seen him in pre-season and it not being immediate back to back games, but it frustrated me a lot. He is clearly a real confidence player and Mowbray definitely hasn't been good for that with some of his comments, but i suppose that's football and he needs to toughen up. He could be better under a different manager, but the jury is still out. Even those games where he was flying were essentially dead rubbers. Can he do it when the chips are down? I wouldn't bet on him at the moment.
