  1. As is always the case, the proof will be in what we see with our own eyes. No signings in yet.
  2. If he has a 4 year contract with no release clause the only way out (if the club won't sell) is to sulk and down tools. As we have seen happen with players many times.
  3. Ya, if that is in his contract. I'm not sure the intricacies of how it does be broken down between a player getting a cut and there being a release clause. Probably wouldn't come into it though as if he scored 30 goals as it would be a PL team who came in, so they would be offering ridiculous wages and a signing on fee. I doubt he would be dragging his feet about the fee.
  4. If him and his agent want one in a negotiation, there has to be middle ground. If he doesn't have one, he could score 30 goals and then sulk because we didn't accept €15 million. Jesus I would say we got a great price for Jones.
  5. Not if it is set at the correct point for both the club and as a motivator for the player eg £18 million
  6. A fair release clause in a 4 year deal for AA would be £18 million imo. That's what Ollie Watkins is apparently and Armstrong isn't at that level yet, but should aspire to be. Everybody happy then
  7. So you know the player and it's not Armstrong? I'm getting confused. Has to be Dack so. Worth a gamble, but obviously we should say no.
  8. Isn't that what ours roughly is? Perfect.
  9. Harsh to say someone was the worst cos they broke their leg, disappointing though
  10. Can't help but think it would be good for us as we are kind of mid table on wages, peg the likes of Leeds etc back a bit
  11. Christ. Good luck to any "bigger" championship clubs who go down squaring that one.
  12. I hope it's not a case of no signings til Mowbray evaluates the squad in pre-season. He should really know at this stage. If that is what is coming out, I won't be taking it as a good sign. I will be calling BS.
  13. We would have had to let our whole squad go. What was our wage bill there, was 8 million or was it 12?
  14. Hughton can be very selective about where he goes. I am sure the club would really have to show him they are serious about automatic promotion, let alone making the top 6. As for McCarthy, ya, not a sexy choice but gets the job done and meets or exceeds expectations wherever he goes. I don't actually get why some fans are critical of his style (ignorance perhaps?) because he plays different ways depending on the players at his disposal. Case in point 1, look at Ipswich after he left. There are just a lot of basket case owners in the Championship too. I reckon he would do well at Sheffield wednesday for example, but I think he will probably end up at Barnsley. Who knows what way the season will pan out though. Jesus Wigan could do a lot worse if they could persuade him to drop down to League 1.
  15. Sometimes I look at him and think I would prefer Tinker
  16. That was actually an insult on many levels. One of Uniteds best full-backs in the last 30 years.
  17. He played so well that season it was actually tragic in many ways Won me €300 one game. 2 or more goals at Old Trafford at €5 @ 60/1. Wrapped up by half-time.
  18. I would be disappointed to see Armstrong or Dack leave for £10 million to be honest
  19. Controversial question. Did Kean make any good signings? Rhodes is one that comes to mind. Anyone else? Dann I suppose.
  20. Ya, who knows if they aren't right up there they may feel the pressure to pull the plug and get say Hughton in. They seem to have sensible owners anyway. That must be nice.
  21. Ah he's better than that I would say. Stood out in very good Man city youth teams. Granted it's always hard to judge the step up. 24 now, so he would want to be going back over in the next year or two max I would think.
