  1. Nobody said we were after him, just that it would have been a logical move for us to make.
  2. If Mowbray wants the Downing deal done(which he does) and now that can't be done, there is something definitely afoot and not in a good way. Easiest deal of all time to get done. I'm starting to get a bit worried to be honest. Missing out on Marshall seems poor now. Living near by probably and ends up having to up sticks and move to Derby. This after we release numerous players in theory freeing up wages. So if that's the case, why can't the simple Downing deal get done at least? Mmmm........ I don't usually go this route, but if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck...or possibly a chicken in this case, well ye know the rest.
  3. Ya but is Marshall a nice/good lad though and can he fist pump? You need to consider these things.
  4. Indeed, but what a legend he could have made himself. I am sure he thinks about it from time to time.
  5. Well I don't get to watch many Rovers game live, so being able to watch every game on Ifollow is a revelation. I have a VPN and could mess around, but wasn't always possible to get it to work. Used to get over at least once a season in my 20s (3 one season ) , but in my 30s about once every 2-3 seasons. I have an Ireland season ticket, I live about 3km from the stadium, so go and watch them a bit , for my sins. Haven't had much to cheer about with either team in the last number of years, so honestly, I prefer watching at home with a beer. If what I was watching was easier on the eye, I would be more excited about going. The games on ifollow post lockdown did look weird, like training games, but maybe that was just because we were shi*e. I'm sure Leeds, WBA, Fulham and even Brentford fans enjoyed it. I like the 2 guys that do the commentary on Ifollow, so it was good having them still doing it. I mean it does take from the experience of any sport not having a crowd, even wrestling, if you can call that a sport. The fake crowd noise was ok, til it hit me that it was fake. I think a solid 5,000 being allowed into Ewood and spread out would make it more enjoyable to watch. I just hope the option for Ifollow continues for the season!
  6. Heartbreaking. Especially looking back where we are now. What an opportunity and what a team we had then. Deserved to push on and achieve something magical.
  7. Fa cup semi-final v Chelsea, so I could get behind the goal and shout at Pedersen to keep his eye on the f******g ball in the build up to the header he missed.
  8. I'm excited cos I will get to watch all of our games on Ifollow. I'm not excited by how the window is going. Mowbray clearly wants Downing back, if that deal can't be done, it should raise concerns. On paper the easiest deal of all time, but ya, Ifollow..yeah.
  9. Extreme, but more like he would have had to play out of position , although it seems he can play anywhere, but Mowbray surely would have tested that to the limit. Of course this would be after he has told the media that he needs to watch Corry Evans and learn how to play midfield and Elliot Bennett so he knows how to do a good fist pump and play right-back. Would he have gotten a move to Dortmund? Unlikely, although he looks a real talent.
  10. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12051723/jude-bellingham-and-jadon-sancho-impress-in-youthful-borussia-dortmund-pre-season Bellingham straight in for Dortmund. 17 years old. What are the bets he starts their first game? Yet Mowbray thinks Lewis Holtby needs weeks to settle , a former German international. He really is a moron about certain things.
  11. Sorry, I read that you wrote "there" instead of "here". Men can't multitask Ya, I would too.
  12. Will be interesting to see. Big lad, but quick with it and looks to have a finish in him. Only 19 though, so time will tell if he can do it this season. Suits him that they were relegated anyway. More chance of him playing. Similar height to Brereton, but when I look at the 2 of them, Idah is definitely more athletic. Plus more likely to score goals you would have to say....
  13. Kids playing too much Playstation Ah no, I think it's more difficult for Irish players to break through in England with so many other nationalities now involved and being scouted under age. Parrott, Connoly and Obafemi are exciting strikers at various stages of breaking into Premier league clubs and Idah for Norwich looks promising. Malumby who was on loan at Milwall last season also looks decent. Going to be hard to find another Keane or Duff though, that's for sure. The LOI is striving to improve, so that might encourage some to stay, but it's always going to be difficult though as beyond a loyal group of supporters , most clubs struggle to generate income. By and large we all exclusively support English clubs. Heard the other day Byrne is on around €5000 a week with Shamrock rovers though, which isn't bad. I was surprised to hear he was on that much. Perhaps the salary caps at League 1 and 2 level might encourage more to stay. For all the players who go over to England for trials, only a tiny percentage make it.
  14. I doubt there is that level of propaganda going on between Sharpe and the club. If it was the case, why would he have been so definitive the other day nothing was happening? People are elevating the level of Sharpes importance way too high.
  15. Ah he's a good lad, I have no doubt he is tipping away and will probably come back as fit as most.
  16. Who cares where we do pre-season, as long as it involves hard work. As for Chaddy all of a sudden being the voice of reason when it comes to the vaccine. There's a 180!
  17. Scored 11 last season and has hit 20 in a season at this level. I would be happy enough with our center forward scoring 11. Combined with Dack, Armstrong and hopefully some others chipping in. Martin is a solid and experienced Championship striker. On a free, as another option, I would be happy with him. Spend the budget on a GK and center half.
  18. Who knows? Signings or no signings, doesn't stop people posting. Hopefully we sign someone next week, but it's really about the quality for me. So will judge when the window closes.
  19. Ah ,you just pick the season where he scored the least. When you looked at his career history, I'm sure you saw the seasons where he scored more, many more. So ya, wind ya neck in and admit when you're wrong "He doesn't score goals" ya, except when he does.
  20. I think it's best to take any links on here with an enormous pinch of salt. Too easy to pluck players names from thin air and then claim we didn't get it done if it doesn't happen, not that the link was just made up. Whats the betting our first signing is someone who hasn't been mentioned on here?
  21. Are you sure he doesn't play in goals and "is worth a punt" Absolute LOL Please step away from the transfer thread, you have been outed!
  22. So the scouts on BRFCS think you need 12 goals for your goals to start being counted ? or maybe he googled and found the wrong Chris Martin.
