Not sure about Johnson if we have 3 CBs Kaminski Nyambe Ayala Lenihan Wharton Pickering Buckley Travis Davenport Brereton Gallagher (if fit) If 4-3-3 then Kaminski Nyambe Ayala Lenihan or Wharton Pickering Buckley Travis Davenport Gallagher/Khadra Dolan Brereton -

I took it to mean we shouldn't underestimate them, which we shouldn't. He said we need to be aggressive and get on the front foot Don't think there is anything worth picking apart in those comments -

Well I think we should all be optimistic at home to Pboro. Really I was just making the point that playing a back 3, 5 whatever we want to call it, isn't automatically in and of itself something to be worried about -

Not always. It has been used to get us back into games and even at scores tied. It's just another option. I wouldn't be so down on it personally -

I wouldn't say they are really poor. Have come out the wrong side of a few tight games. Having 3 CBs gives more flexibility for the wingbacks to attack. It's not not as simple as saying by playing 3CBs we are or should be less attacking -

Whats the issue? Its pretty much 3-5-2 when attacking -

Massive oversimplification of how formations work. You can play great attacking football with 5-3-2 -

Well, 18 months and I don't think it's realistic that he can stay if we want to sell and someone else wants to buy -
No, I think we are on same theme. I'm just not sure it was that much "extra" seeing as we were in for Freeman at around 4.5 million. I think as usual we just missed out on players near the end of the window and the Brereton deal fell our way. Lucky it did now We could have been paying either deal off in installments , so I don't think there is much of a story to it
-
I do wonder about this stuff in relation to Brereton being a Balaji pet project. I can't help but feel it it gives Balaji credit for being more in touch with that club and football in general than he is. I reckon we had close to the money as it was reported we were in for Freeman at around 4.5 million. The Brereton deal could have been structured in a similar way, like 1.5 million paid off per year or something like that. I would put it in the category of panic buy , that we weren't actually in a panic for.

As always, tough to call with us. I'm going to go 2-1 2-0 up at half time, after missing a few chances. They score 60 min and its uncomfortable til the end -

If we get offered 25 million for him, you would think financially it could be the most we get for him. He is a huge player for us though -

The Ogbene one seems to be more that whoever wrote the article links him to us, as in we should look at him -
It sounds odd, but it's just a contract mechanism to maybe avoid tax or something like that. You manage in the PL you get £40,000, you manage the league below you get £20,000. It's basically just a salary drop. You can't really compare football contracts to any other profession

Obviously i'm not saying he's as good as CR7, but I would imagine similar to CR7 opposition managers are saying don't let him shoot from anywhere in and around the box, because he seems to be able to find the net with a wide range of finishes now

Duffy had a disaster the last 12 months before this season. He looked like he could end up dropping out of top level football, but he apparently got really fit before pre-season and has come back fighting. I wonder is it injuries that have stopped Ayala playing PL. He certainly looks good enough to me. Actually had a quick look there, the one season he was there he played 14 games, so ya, must have gotten injured.
