  1. Classic Mowbrayism “The only concern at the moment is Tosin. He has picked up a little knock. “We’ll see whether he trains on Thursday and that’s a concern. “Lenihan is another concern and if both Tosin and Lenihan miss the weekend then we are really thin.
  2. Just dawned on me, did Bennett tweet saying it was an honour to be made captain of the team? I don't think he did. Is that odd or is it just me? A lot of things seem to be strange over the last while.
  3. I'm edging closer to Mowbray out by the day. So much unecessery shite in the last couple of months. Its like the transfer window has removed what positives Mowbray had. We look like a team who have lost faith in the manager Not good
  4. Or motivate them to come out all guns blazing
  5. There really isn't! Especially not nowadays. Full backs are meant to do so much. Hard to imagine with our full-backs, but generally with good teams, this is the case. There is absolutely no reason why a good full-back couldn't play left-back and vice versa
  6. Gallagher and Brereton cost £11 million, yet I bet you any money Graham will end up playing striker with the 2 lads being used off the bench to the wing. We will have a loanee and 2 converted full-backs playing centre back. A midfielder right-back. There are good players who are fluid and can play in different roles. With our current team it is happening due to an unbalanced spending of the transfer budget or blind loyalty from the manager to lads who aren't performing and have publicly come out saying it's not their fault that the manager picks them in said positions! In my opinion it's over complicating things where there is no need.
  7. I don't think there is a huge difference between right back and right wing back to be honest
  8. Bennett isn't a right back though. That's the issue. Hence why he gets found out there time and time again. No doubt fans disagree with managers decisions and thats one thing, but then there is playing players out of position, which is another thing entirely.
  9. Ya, I watched that at lunch. He is a humble lad and I just wonder is the fact that he will just shut up and say nothing a reason why he is easy to leave out?
  10. Is it though? Mowbray was talking about promotion after what was it, 4 windows? Are we any closer to that now? I think we had a better chance last year with the momentum from winning regularly in League 1. When you look at next summer, we have 4-5 out of contract and 3 loans who will probably be starters to replace. Add Graham, Johnson and Downing to that all a year older and we have a huge building job to be done. This summer made the job even bigger. All smacks of the lack of any plan , or naivety in the workings of the transfer market on Mowbrays behalf. So between the out of contract players, the loans and older players deteriorating, I don't know how we will go about sorting this
  11. Is it the same price as usual? Games like this should be half-price
  12. So Bennett started at RB and Nyambe at RCB, is that what you mean?
  13. Bennett was at the end of last season though as well wasn't he?
  14. Get Nyambe out of there and don't be giving Mowbray ideas
  15. In Nyambes case that is purely because he wants Bennett at right-back and loaned 3 other centre-halves out. I don't believe it was in any way a plan that he has been thinking about for too long. So basically Nyambe goes from 1st choice right-back to 4th choice CB under Mowbray. All so Bennett can be shoe horned in out of position. Where else would you see it??
  16. I think the main frustration for me is we spent £5 million on Gallagher who will probably end up out of position and ineffective on the wing when Graham comes back in to get the best out of Dack. I think Mowbray is slow to react in the window. I like the Downing and Johnson signings , but how did we not sign a plan B when the Bauer deal fell through early in the window? Also, I wouldn't agree with the line about Walton being a positive because we turned a profit. Ok, that money went towards Gallagher, but I come back to the question , did we need him? Surely we could have spent the Brereton money better. Mowbray doesn't even start Berereton upfront. It's all starting to look a bit mad to me. We are lucky that we somehow managed to get to the top of the queue to sign Cunningham However think about next summer, between loans returning and players out of contract , we are going to be looking at signings what, 8-9 players? Does anyone think that is going to go well?
  17. If one part of Mowbarys legacy is overseeing both Raya and Nyambe leave, it won't reflect well on him. Particularly if Brereton and Gallagher never get going and he continues to hamper Rothwells progress. I think he has spectacularly messed things up over the last few months. I had high hopes for this season.
  18. Doesn't sound like its up in the air going off Mowbrays quotes. Seems like Bennett grabbed the arm band and mowbary was like "ya sure, why not"
  19. I will just add though, it was the most underwhelming reveal by Mowbray. Not a mention of Bennetts strengths, just basically it's because he is a senior player. That's it. Even the first sentence alone is ridiculous, "I think" , "while charlie is away",. What do you mean you think?? Where is Charlie, away on his holidays for the weekend? Man is losing it,. “I think at the moment Elliott Bennett will be club captain while Charlie is away,” Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph. “I think he slips in to that role very comfortably, very easily. “As I’ve said before I like to have a leadership team with the senior players when there are issues that we need to deal with, football issues or club issues or player issues. “I generally talk to a few of them rather than just one. “Elliott has been part of that group and I have no problem with him leading the team on the pitch and he’s someone that I can talk to as part of a group of senior players.”
  20. There is absolutely no way people should boo Bennett. I completely disagree with the choice , but booing would be nasty and totally counterproductive
  21. At least with Lenihan there is a lad who has been at the club since 15, shows proper leadership on the field. No, not for Tony though. Stubborn man. You know, it might just have got him to stay if a bid comes in next summer. But no, apparently fist pumping is an important skill in Mowbrays eyes. Really, really poor choice.
  22. I think this shows Mowbray is a stubborn man. He will stick with players out of position or shoehorned in until it gets him the sack. I remember not so long ago he was saying Lenihan could be a future captain. Obviously not whilst he needs to have Bennett right back. The worst thing is all those stupid decisions Mowbray now seems to be making will just lead to the fans turning on the players, because as we have seen, Mowbray doesn't take blame himself for his formations or tactics. He has fucked Brereton up. Rothwell on the same route. Bennett definitely and he will probably do the same to Gallagher by playing him on the wing. Not happy at all.
  23. It's piss poor in my opinion. He shouldn't even be starting right back as Nyambe is the better full-back. Lenihan was undoubtedly the stand out candidate. Awful decision by Mowbray, not surprising though. Up there with Coyle making Lowe captain for me.
