  1. I think fans have started to heal. There was even an acknowledgement a few months back of it being 6 years since his sacking. I think it was the 1st time people could talk about it in a somewhat light hearted way. I know that mind sound over the top, but his reign was like an inescapable nightmare. Obviously ,it's only football and there are far more important things in life, but football is a huge part of peoples lives and that was a dark time. I stopped watching match of the day after a few games under Keans "management" and I haven't gone back watching it since. I used to hate watching us and dread checking the scores if I didn't. We have the right man at the club now though and that's great to see. On your 1st paragraph, sounds like an easy out for the owner. Keane is completely unpredictable, him spending money could either go very well or very badly. There is no middle ground with him. I would be fairly sure McCarthy would have spent it far more practically and motivated whomever he bought far more effectively.
  2. Looking at his recent jobs, I would say desperate
  3. I think, for once, you are downplaying how bad things were! It was far, far worse than borderline neglect. Good post though
  4. Can I just ask, what does Evans hope to achieve there without investment? If he gave McCarthy £10 million I bet he would have had a fair stab at the play offs.
  5. Agreed. What Kean did here was bordering on criminal, it seems the main beef iftc1963 had with McCarthy was that his team didn't have many shots on goal at home in a couple of games. He still got them to 12th in the league though all the same.... I read about some of the chants they directed at McCarthy. Very, very nasty stuff. Worse than what Kean got here even though that is hard to believe
  6. I think you are downplaying and leaving out some of the abuse McCarthy got and overplaying his reaction. Also, in no way can you compare the McCarthy and Kean situations or how the fans of both clubs were portrayed. Kean destroyed an established Premier league team, McCarthy had you punching above your paygrade, whether you care to acknowledge that or not. You have ended up with a very similar style of manager in Lambert to be honest. Albeit one with arguably a worse managerial record.
  7. Yes, that is definitely the beginning and end of the entire plan. I think it's a fair enough comment. He's a 19 forward, I wouldn't say organising the front line of defence is his main strength. It sounds like he will need to learn though, which is good. On having a poor transfer record, can't be having that. He has got us to where we are with around, on average, 5 of his signings in the starting 11. Only 3 glaring fails stand out and he has already moved 2 of them on. I would say the rest have either been a success or the just is still out
  8. He will have his work cut out. Every game is tough and if they keep losing, the Norwich connections will definitely be brought up
  9. I don't see anyway McCarthy will go back there. I can see them appointing someone who they will also end up sacking. They are doomed!
  10. Do we? I don't know why he played Dack upfront and not Brereton after Graham went off. Enlighten me
  11. No ,not good at all, but when you have the president of the country saying "well, it's bad what they did, but we do loads of business with them" It's clear that money is the bottom line. Apparently making more money takes precedent over doing the right thing by a murdered and dismembered human being.
  12. 100% agree https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr7oUg1trVo
  13. Ya, but that doesn't explain why he won't play Brereton upfront.
  14. Ya, that's what we were talking about in the last few posts
  15. Ipswich was a bad move all round. I wonder is Big Mick sitting somewhere smugly having a little grin to himself.
  16. Wouldn't bet against him ending up back at Shrewsbury
  17. He would have been alright. Himself, Roy Keane and Zidane would have been a decent spine to the team.
  18. Ya, when I said he would be heel I was kind of doing so tongue in cheek. I hope he comes back and fans cut him some slack. As you say though, will be a tough road. Morons. Need a firm clip around the head. Is that whats happening? They removed mentions of it from TV and from online, they must have been weighing it up. I am not surprised really. Money is now more important than doing the right thing. They should have nipped it in the bud straight away when they said women wouldn't be allowed wrestle. That was worth taking a stand on. Shur aren't the yanks selling billions worth of weapons to them, the way the WWE look at it, why should we miss out. When it comes to big business, I would be more surprised if they did the right thing to be honest.
  19. Shocking alright. What I found annoying was some idiot fans responded completely inappropriately. One idiot shouted "you still suck" after he said he had leukemia. Then some cheering when he said he was leaving. Are they so thick they can't actually tell what is a shoot and what is a work when it comes to cancer? There has been a great show of support by professional wrestlers. I read he could be out for 3 years. Hopefully that is all. Knowing WWE they will probably do something ridiculous like turn him heel when he comes back
  20. That link is to 2 sentences. I have seen some garbage posted on here, but that takes the biscuit. Seriously, did you write that or something? Makes Nixon look like Hemingway
  21. They have an outstanding squad for this level. I would say the best in the division. I think them getting stonked by Derby is not ideal for us, but having said that ,I think Mowbray may have the measure of Moore tactically and will be well motivated to get one over on them.
  22. For once the LT are upfront about regurgitating content!
  23. Depends on the season, sometimes teams in the play offs have conceded that many, sometimes the teams in relegation have. Obviously the fact they scored 88 helped a lot. Even Wolves didn't score than many last year (82)
  24. Which years are you referring to? What was the goals against stats and how does this prove that Mowbarys teams always defend poorly?
