  1. I would imagine reading you are being linked to a team who have made the Champions league fairly regularly in recent years is good for your confidence. I don't think it has to be true. As someone posted the other day, Spurs have Eriksen, Ali, Son , Lamela and Lucas Moura who can all play where Dack plays. I can't see them forking out £20 million plus for him.
  2. Ya, he signed with Adidas too. Putting a lot on social media about it. Hopefully we see the best of him on Saturday. Have a feeling we might.
  3. Papers link good players to teams, that's how it is and always will be. They were linking him with Cardiff last season. The Spurs link is a good one I feel. Firstly I don't believe it, secondly it will encourage him and give him confidence that a big club are interested in him. Lastly, it will inflate his value for when/if we do sell him.
  4. I notice Richie Towell is starting for them. He was the outstanding player in the League of Ireland when he went to Brighton. This is his first full season on loan at Rotherham. Things haven't worked out for him as he planned, but starting in the Championship is still good I suppose. He is a tidy player, good flair on the ball, but not the quickest. Good shot on him, so need to watch that.
  5. Just read there , of Rotherhams 13 goals scored this season , 6 have been set pieces and another 4 have been penalties. So I think we know what the lads are working on in training this week, set pieces and not giving away penalties!
  6. How do the plymouth herald have the inside track on this?
  7. If they formed an effective double act we could call them Palmstrong.... Or maybe not :p
  8. Can't see QPR selling him to us after their upturn in form. I am sure Tony has a trick or two up his sleeve
  9. Bell is an enigma to me. He wasn't the player I expected at all. Have we just not seen the best of him? He hardly got in the League 1 team of the year playing as he has for us
  10. I can't see Bennett being dropped. Mowbray will fit him in somewhere I reckon. I hope Rodwell, Rothwell and Palmer all start. It's games like this where we should take the shackles off and let the lads on the fringes stake a claim to start. If Mowbray goes for the safe and predictable line-up I see a tricky afternoon. This is exactly the type of game where we don't perform. I hate saying that, but I've seen it time and time again. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a draw. Hopefully I'm miles off and this is the beginning of a new confident rovers comfortable with being favourites and able to dispatch a bottom half team at home, with minimum fuss.
  11. I think he is buying young players who potentially can play in the Premier league; Davenport, Brereton, Armstrong, Dack etc Rodwell has played there and I think Lenihan will certainly play there at some point. If Evans keeps playing as he is this season, I could see him doing a job there too. Reed the same. As a squad we are a fair bit away from where we need to be yet. A few old players need replacing. Anyway, we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves
  12. The silver lining of Evans being out Saturday means we should get to see Reedy in the centre!
  13. I think there are positive signs about their partnership alright. Lenihan is only 24 and Williams not much older at 25. They could be our 2 centre halves for many years to come, once Mulgrew steps aside. It's hard to know how many seasons Mulgrew has left in him.
  14. I can, but I need to use a VPN. I think I picked the states as location the time it cost me €12.
  15. With Leeds and QPR, now we are the ones scoring late goals! That wasn't something we were great at, but it shows this team are hungry to win.
  16. Whats that, 3 injuries so far this season? We need to keep away, he will just end up letting us down. He gets going, next thing another injury. Tough on the lad.
  17. Oh god, I have a feeling its going to be one of those games. This is one where I would love if Mowbray took the initiative and did start Palmer or Rothwell out there. Maybe Rodwell with Reed in the middle too. Chances are it will be a conservative line up though and a 1-0 or 2-1 and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they scored first. We never make it easy like.
  18. Evans is out for Saturday, 5 yellows. Surely means Reed to the middle and Bennett to right mid, Nyambe back into the team.
  19. I think that this year could be our best bet to get into the play offs, at least. There looks to be no standout teams, let alone 2 who will definitely make the automatic places. We have carried over our doggedness and never give up approach from last year, and the team appear to be tighter than ever. Then you have guys like Evans, Graham and Lenihan having great seasons. We have strenght in depth too. If we get a striker and centre half in January, we could be in for a very exciting end to the season.
  20. He is a signing for the future, which Mowbray has mentioned many, many times. Now we can debate whether the money should have been spent elsewhere all day, but I wouldn't criticise Brerton for not coming in and starting straight away. Its great that we don't have to be relying on a 19 year old signed for the future. The thing with a lot of fans these days is a complete lack of patience. I thought he had looked good in his last two cameos. Some nice touches and he's got a specific way of dribbling which I think will draw fouls, as happened yesterday for the penalty.
  21. Good to have a game like that to ease him in. Shouldn't be bombarded against Rotherham either. Just needs to keep the concentration. Raya is great at that
  22. We would have lost to them if we played them early in the season, but as it went on I thought we were the better team. Ah they got two very fluke goals at Ewood, I don't remember them playing that well Hopefully we get one over them later this month
  23. Ya, I think the fact that they were in League 1 a couple of seasons before stood to them. They hit the ground running from game 1,whereas our slow start ultimately cost us 1st place. We played them off the park in the first half at Ewood. They fluked back into it. Over the two games I didn't see much in them to be honest.
