  1. While I would agree that Dunns career underwhelmed from the expectations around him circa 2001, you could argue "legendary" status due to the fact he played a key role with the club during our most successful times since winning the Premier league. He played in the Souness team, the Hughes team and under Allardyce. Overall he played 9 seasons for us in the Premier league, that's a good return. Injuries and a poor move to Birmingham did hold him back. Personally I would categorize him below "legendary status". In my opinion that is reserved for the following players from the Premier league era, 1992 on-wards. Hendry Moran Flowers Shearer Sutton Sherwood Hughes Duff Tugay Nelsen Honorable mentions- Wilcox, Ripley, Samba, Bentley, Atkins, McCarthy, Santa Cruz and Dunn Potential honorable mentions- Mulgrew and Dack I am regretting starting this list now cos I want to keep adding players. I will just step away from the list
  2. Ya, I agree that signing Reed needs to be the number 1 priority in January. Whatever about the Brereton transfer (and I hope someday we can discuss a potential transfer without referencing Brereton!) I would suspect that Southampton will want big bucks for Reed. I think we could be looking at a transfer record breaking deal
  3. Why? It would be pointless 5 million, at a minimum and before clauses, would represent a great deal for us.
  4. This would make zero sense. What if Dack got injured? We haven't leveraged the Brereton deal off a future fee for Dack. Oh god, are some really starting the "we have nothing to spend" line. Did we not have enough of that during the summer? Ultimately we had plenty to spend. Mowbray is saying we still have money, so why do people just ignore that and revert to the boring old line that we won't spend anything
  5. I am pretty sure you are the one who is being over sensitive. Ian was asking a genuine question.
  6. Icke has rowed back on the whole "lizard people" spiel. He must have been tuned into the wrong frequency.
  7. It will be smallwood and Evans in the middle with Armstrong, Dack and Bennett in front of them. Although now that I think of it, will he really leave Reed out? Mmm, he does have a selection dilemma alright. Palmer, Rothwell and Rodwell will all be pushing hard to start too. We have options
  8. Good shouts, I liked what I saw of Joao. I do remember that Mowbray had an issue with him and Emnes time keeping though..
  9. A quality centre half and striker to add some depth to the squad. I would be happy if we spent all the budget on them.
  10. The way things are now Mowbray would definetly get the money to spend. He is our great leader and he has venkys wrapped around his big Northern finger ?
  11. There is no evidence he has a release clause, let alone one for 15 million. That would make zero sense. As long as he keeps delivering, let's enjoy it. To be honest I think there is still more to come and he is putting himself out there now so he better deliver!
  12. Just read his tweet there. He called the performance a shit show. I checked the result then and they had drawn 1-1 with Bradford, who are bottom of the table. He obviously hadn't heard that Bradford had signed Paul "Cafu" Caddis
  13. Ya, it would drive me mental if he was the rovers owner. If he tweeted about 1% of what he does a season that would be OK, but he is constantly on it nattering away. Must have an enormous ego. I remember after we bet them at Ewood he tweeted about Taylor, the centre half who used to play for Newcastle. I think Taylor, anyway the tweet was like something a fan would say down the pub. Really cutting. Talk about hanging a lad out to dry
  14. I'd say the Charlton fans were gutted watching him last season, let alone this one. Imagine when he leaves us for 20 million plus. Oh that will have to hurt
  15. In fairness he has 10 goals from midfield so far this season. That makes him a pretty big deal at this level
  16. I would go with that team Be surprised if Bennett and Smallwood don't start though Mowbray has a tricky job deciding when we have everyone fit
  17. That could be good for us if we are still interested in signing him Ya, ye look like ye could be a real force at upcoming tournaments. A huge amount of good young players coming through. Fair play.
