  1. Has it? I don't remember ever hearing it was more of an issue than most managers experience. The year he won the Championship West broms goal difference was +33 , conceding only 55 and scoring 88. What are you basing your point on?
  2. Chaddy must have been on pretending to be a tractor boy to bump that up to 18%
  3. Ya, it's a confidence thing, although we do it a lot. Turn back in, when players are in good forward positions. I wonder is it an instruction from Mowbray?
  4. Hardly! I would say it was 4th most celebrated at best, behind ; Brereton, Armstrong and Davenport(young exciting players for fees, as opposed to a loan). Personally I was more excited about Reed. He has more first team experience than Palmer. Palmer is a funny one, I would imagine there is an issue with is work rate defensively than is keeping him out of the team. Can't imagine Chelsea are too happy. I wonder, at some point, will we see him in Dacks role and Dack upfront? I wouldn't be a big fan of that now. The under 23 tournament we were in last year was handy to try stuff out, the games are coming thick and fast now and all matter, doesn't allow any room for experimentation. If we had that cup, we could even try Brereton upfront with Palmer behind. I think Mowbray will pull a Bolton on this and surprise us with his team selection. Raya Bennett Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Rodwell Evans Palmer Dack Rothwell Graham
  5. Ya, that too. The free where he kicked it out really rankled me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we were 2-1 down at this point. He tried to steal a few yards and the ref caught him, so he brought it back. Next thing his kick went straight out. It was a monumental momentum killer and you could just see the players around going flat after it. His face told a story too.
  6. Be great if we had a 28 year old Kevin Davies now. Would fit in with our style of play very well!
  7. Self fulfilling prophesy is when someone doubts themselves and then they end up bombing. I take the point that similar could happen though ,as it seems some fans have their minds made up about the guy and unless he scores 20 goals this season they will say he was a failure. Players pick up on that. Especially young players.
  8. I remember the one Raya kicked over the touchline. A real momentum killer. He clearly suffers from nerves or confidence issues at times. Your keeper should not be kicking frees or goal kicks out of play too often. It's basic stuff.
  9. The results in the championship this evening are mental
  10. Less time sitting, more time to rest properly, stretch. I remember last season after we had a few long away trips back to back, a couple of players had hamstring issues. An hour or 2 travelling is fine, 6 hours on a bus is excessive, even the day before.
  11. Still think they should have flown
  12. Quotes from Mowbray after the game last night. Why, oh why doesn't he mention Brereton with Dack and Armstrong? Danny was a concern, whether we were going to bring him or not. It took us six hours to get here and then there was a lot of waiting about,” Mowbray added. “Danny is an important player for us and it’s important to have him on the pitch than not but also not to flog him. “We have other options. “I think Dack can play that position, Armstrong can. “I don’t think Danny would have done anything to stop the first goal or done anything about the left winger cutting inside for the second and slide a ball through.
  13. When Graham went off, I thought Brereton was one of our better attackers too, but that's not saying much!
  14. They have FIFA on the coach?? Nice
  15. I thought after the tide turned in their favour Smallwood was one of our better players. He was the only one I noticed repeatedly stick a foot in and break up their attacks. He didn't do much with the ball, but neither did anyone else really
  16. How did Davenport get on?
  17. Hopefully they did travel on the Monday, would have been a bad call to have done it Tuesday
  18. How do you know they went Monday? I am pretty sure I read comments from Mowbray where he said they were going Tuesday, it would take 5 and a half hours so they would leave early and relax there for a while.
  19. I don't think he is doing extremely badly or anything, I would say average. The price tag brings more attention on him. From what I have seen of him with the ball at his feet, he has more about him than Samuel or Nuttall. The price tag seems to be leading some to exaggerate how "poorly" he is playing.
  20. Ya, I agree. Even going the evening before and staying in a hotel would be better you would imagine. I presume Swansea don't drive to every away game 5 hours sitting on a bus is not good for athletes before a game
  21. I'm not blaming it for the performance, but I don't think sitting on a bus for 5 hours plus is ideal preparation for a game. With the game Saturday away too as you mention, I think they should have made yesterday's trip as easy as possible.
  22. I read yesterday Mowbray said the bus to Swansea would take 5 hours. That is a long time sitting. Is there no way the squad could have flown there? I'm sure some teams fly there. Is it a money issue?
  23. Missed Lenihans physical presence too. I made the point we had two classy ball playing centre half's on, but hopefully not too classy. They were a bit. Roberts, James and Celina are nice footballers, but none of our defenders got close. Someone needed to clatter into them fairly and make them think twice about what they were doing. They were allowed to run rampant really.
