Yep, more excuses then. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned a bigger budget down. Literally lowering expectations to his level
-
It's called doing it cheaper, but to be fair I don't think we were getting great value from him and a few of the others who were released. In theory with the right manager and the young players we have , we could do alright , especially if there was clever investment.

The most boring end to a season. EVER?
Bigdoggsteel replied to Banzai's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I will take boring over relegation and unfortunately thats where we are at excitement wise -
No, I think it looks like a guy who is not setting any expectations next season. I bet he would take 15th right now if offered it. Tells you everything you need to know.
-
Good post and especially this point. Imagine a manager getting away with such downgrading. Again,if he was going, he wouldn't be saying that. He would still be giving it a big one.
-
Still doesn't make sense. If someone "ITK" is saying stuff is happening behind the scenes , I mean , even in venkys land it's very clear cut what needs to happen. I don't get why he would be going about his business as it, Mowbray I mean. Not digging at you,but in general I think any rational person would assume he is going ,or should be gone, so it's an easy and logical to say. However it's doesn't seem to be how things are playing out in reality. I still wouldn't be surprised if he was sacked though, obviously.
-
Get those excuses in early. Anyone left in any denial that he is staying? And Mowbray said: “I hope the supporters understand where the football club is in the history of the football club at this moment. “It isn’t Blackburn Rovers of 1995 competing and fighting at the top of the Premier League. “While the money has ran away in the Premier League, it’s created a divide to the teams that haven’t been enjoying the Premier League and it becomes more difficult to get out of this division and all we’re trying to do is compete. “For a lot of this season we did compete. Everyone will have their own reasons of why we fell away. “In February we lost nearly all of our games after three wins and a draw in January and moving forward all I ask of the team is they compete and give their very best.

He hasn't been moved around that much recently. I think Rothwell, cos he can do great stuff , is one a lot of excuses are made for. Yes, of course Mowbray complicates him by doing things like dropping him when playing well and that doesn't help As AA has shown though. Players at some point need to take personal responsibility for their performances. Obviously I have issues with some aspects of his game, but he's going Premier league and theres no sign of that happening for anyone else anytime soon. If Rothwell scored goals like he can even every 3-4 games, he probably would be too. The thing is he does it what, one in 7 or 8?
-
Is Rothwell consistent though. Even when fit. I don't think so
-
No ,fair enough. Just wondering. Hopefully. Difficult to see him replacing AA though, but really one of him or Gallagehr need to
-
If you do something , anything, can you elaborate on why it's taking so long?
-
Based off what exactly? He has played his best stuff on the left and his shooting is shite
-
Mowbray isn't able to sign wide players. He either plays people out of position or signs players he doesn't rate or trust. Of the two I would prefer Gallagher centrally,if only because Brereton is better wide
-
Who was the defender again? cos ya you wouldn't often see Brereton do that
-
I don't think he's had to blag anything. I don't think there was a conversation. It's just continue as usual. Ya, though when he is talking about meeting the potemtial new HOR to see if there is a connection, it's fairly conclusive. ITKs please assemble 😂 and take your scoldings Ah no, it's pretty depressing to be fair
-
Indeed. At least they did sack him before the end of the season though. What position were we in then actually?
-
At this stage it's bad either way, they have dragged it out to the point where another manager hasn't had the end of the season to take a look, so a new appointment will already be playing catch up. Or they just aren't sacking him. Like it's hardly option C and they have the Barnsley manager lined up. We can dream though
-
Some bizzare stuff, but this would be beyond the pale. I think that all the signs point to nobody knows what's happening, at best.
-
Nobody is stopping anyone posting what they want, so can we stop saying thats a things that's happening?
-
No,me neither, but it's a mental state of affairs The way Mowbray is talking though. Is he that deluded? Surely if the ITKs here heard it, he has heard it? If it's as conclusive as they say. I'm not trying to be snide by saying that
-
Ya keep sharing ,but don't act like a child if some people question the validity of that. The manager doesn't realise he has been sacked ,so it's a bit odd. Someone should really tell him he has already been sacked. Cos he definitely doesn't know. In fact he thinks the exact opposite. Crazy club
-
A couple of vague things from a long time ago plus "not as big things". Cool. Conclusive evidence. You have predicted far ,far more that hasn't happened. Say what you want. It's a free country/message board. Not sure why you are getting so defensive anyway if you believe your source. Bit odd that. I didnt mean it in a snide way, apologies as it may have come accross like that. The fact you are on the edges of "I told you so" already about your info though, tells me a story. Anyway, I hope you're right
-
I get sick of them when it's something this serious! Some saying them here will be on giving it the "I told you so" if/when he is sacked, but it seems to me that no one knows more than anyone else. Obviously and logically he should be gone. So it's not that difficult a prediction to make or rumour to start
-
How many things have you predicted that didn't happen? Even a broken clock is right twice a day
-
Wishful thinking I reckon. The "coincidences" are tentative at best, plus he is getting to renew contracts ,for example Johnson. Brokhall has nothing to do with anything, just that the public rejected it and there is no evidence India have changed communication at all. Rumours on message boards are all they are. We all know he should be gone, so it's easy to say he will be. However the fact he is still here now alone shows that this is not a normally run club.
