  1. It's not a U-turn, I like Nyambe a lot, but I think he has a lot to learn and I wonder if he has the skills, coaching or not ,to be a really good full back at the top level of this division even. I hope he does. I think playing the position should definitely make players better. The issue Mowbray brings is he is uninspiring, de-motivating and simply doesn't demand the best. Plus his tactics are often wrong. So he makes it harder for players. There is some individual responsibility on the players for their progression though. Nice, lucky you. No beer for me this weekend, but will have a couple for the United Liverpool game today.
  2. I don't think playing for him must be very inspiring, but I think a professional who has played his position for years can't blame the manager if they regress. Nyambe doesn't have the tricks to beat players, allowing him to make good attacking space, plus his crossing/passing in the final third is poor. Mowbray gave Travis his chance. Injuries the issue there I would say. That's fairly clear. Lenihan. Has he regressed or was he always kind of like this? Mowbray made him captain. Rothwell regressed? Very debatable. Is it not that he is just inconsistent? We signed him from Oxford, so it was a step up. I would say the players he has impeded are Brereton and Gallagher. Brereton for not playing him, although debatable he deserved to play, but that whole signing was strange. Gallagher , well if he has screwed anyone ,it's him. Mowbray is a problem at this stage, but I don't think we have a team of world beaters just waiting to break through when he leaves. Unfortunately
  3. He's a clown. He could come out next week and saying he isn't playing X or y player because they are out of contract. No logic or planning to it. I reckon he has told some of them that as soon as he gets the greenlight to continue, he will get them new deals.
  4. A good place to start the bidding. Really need another PL club to come in too. If we can get close to 30 it would be pretty good
  5. It's his shooting in the box. Compare and contrast with Jordan Rhodes, for example. For a professional he really loves a poorly struck pea shooter shot.
  6. Huge disappointment for me. Neat and tidy on the ball but lacks a drive to win you need in the championship. Pretty much epitomises Mowbrays philosophy. Even when he played well he lacked end product. No loss really. Now hopefully a few more follow him out the door. Manager first please.
  7. Just shows with Bell. Bursting a gut now that he is looking for a deal. Seen it with players many times. I bet if he got a deal he would revert to type immediately. I have such a feeling that Brereton is going to revert too when crowds return. That's taking into account that I find him frustrating as is. Lacks end product, but signs are positive that he is improving so let's see. Hope I'm wrong about the crowds
  8. He left mentally and pretty much physically months ago
  9. Integrity when it comes to team selection is for losers who need/want excuses. Managers in the play offs don't care
  10. Looks like all the teams in the play offs are resting players. Integrity eh
  11. The club still haven't shared the starting 11 to Instagram. Has the social media guy gone on his holidays?
  12. Your point is getting pretty convoluted so. If you don't think a centre half needs to be able to head it, I don't know what else I can say. They obviously do need to be able to do it. Like the better full backs need to consistently bring something to the team in attack. Hopefully these 4 famous assists are just the start for Nyambe so. From what I have seen from watching him with my eyes, he can be wasteful in the opposition half
  13. I don't do either. I like him a lot. I think there is the flip side to what you say though, where some over rate him. I would certainly keep him. If it's Buckley you are referring to there, I think he gets plenty of stick, far more than Nyambe
  14. He isn't good enough in the air for centre half. You can't reach that
  15. Is that right? I stand corrected if so. It feels like he hasn't had 4 in his career before this season.
  16. Calm down man, you're getting a bit aggressive I feel. Is everything ok? He's a good defender, hasn't shown enough going forward to be a top championship full back Your comment about 70% of full backs doing their job and only a handful being good enough for the top clubs is "bollox". There are far better and more well rounded full backs at clubs in this division, let alone further up accross all clubs in the premier League. Also your comment about him being a centre half is also unadulterated bollox ,because he is pretty weak in the air.
  17. It isn't. It's in line with his general offensive play. Assists practically non existent too. He's a good defender, but over hyped on here and excused with claims that it's Mowbrays fault he hasn't improved. The modern full back role has changed and he is missing a lot of the stuff necessary to be a top championship one
  18. He has never been good at it though. I agree the system isn't set up for it, but I'm not sure he has that attacking side in him. He hasn't even scored 1 goal yet
  19. Shouldn't still be here so
  20. I knew his name, just didn't chance spelling it. Completely irrelevant to my point anyway you absolute pedand. I think you've done too many rounds boring the arse off us arguing in the weeds with chaddy. The standard of your points has really deteriorated. I bet I have actually seen more of him than you have. Ireland have played Gibraltar about 4 times in the last couple of years Lenihan might not even be here, Ayala might be injured again so a couple of dead rubbers for them too isn't going to accomplish anything. Far more valuable experience for a youngster such as ANNESLEY
  21. Bit of a stretch to say Brereton regressed. Travis, well injuries haven't helped. They have been coached all the way up along and are playing championship football. They shouldn't be regressing.
  22. How does it make more sense to play him over Annesley? We know what Ayala can do if fit. That won't change by playing a few games this season. If anything that would be token gesture. Its debatable who is ahead of Annesley, because those who might be are on loan and will be looked at during pre-season, same as him. He is here long enough now that they either give him a chance, or release him. Appearances for him now would be far more valuable than for Ayala.
  23. People are making excuses for Nyambe. Blaming the coaching. If he was good enough to play at a higher level, he would have shown that by now regardless of who was coaching him. A coach shouldn't have to show him how to cross or pass a ball in the final third at this stage if his career
  24. Or even the young lad from Gibraltar I just don't get the point of Ayala playing now. If he's fit next season, great.
  25. He would buy midfielders or strikers to go on the wing
