[Archived] reviews for boro' games.

Rovers team news!! Nelsens back in starting 11, but no Bellamy. And Kuqi FINALLY gets a start for his recent good form. Zura (wish it was Todd) and Emerton drop to bench. And its a shame Pedersen's fit. Would have liked to see Peter have a game, and Pedersen's been average this season. -

Boro 1-2 Rovers AET Southgate (21) Dickov (44) Bently(112) Att: 10,011 see everyone who's not going on the chat room tonight!! -
I actually disagree with most of your points there. Dickov caused all sorts of trouble, but had no natural stirke partner to help him out in some great positions Bently did ok (out of position) and made some good runs Emerton actually had the beating of the left back most of the game, but no one ever passed to him when he was behind the Fulham midfield And Savage was our best player by a mile. He stoped so many Fulham attacks and looked 10 times more creative than Tugay did.

Back from the game, and certainly Rovers could have easily took something. First 30mins were pretty boring then Emerton(who did actually play quite well) missed a sitter. You wont believe how easy it was untill you see it. Any other player- and it would have gone in, but Emo just cant head. I thought Savage and Dickov were our best players today, while Lucas Neill and Gray were pretty poor. Tugay also had his invisible friend with him sometimes too!! On another day, Rovers would have won 3-2 IMO. Also, that linesman!!!!!? whoops I missed off the "g" USELESS!!!! But credit to the Rovers fans(must have been close to 2,000 of us) who were all behind every single player till the very end which i feel made the players never give up. Which is a reason why with this team, wont go down for quite sometime. Ratings: Friedel 7 made a good save from a Fulham player at 0-0 Neill- 5.5- Very poor first half as he kept trying to be too clever and lost the ball soo many times Todd- 6- Alright Zura-7- looked very cool on the ball and played some good passes from the back Gray-6- Got caught out of position many times, and but some ###### in the box with his crosses Emerton-7- Looked a threat for most of the game. Players still not passing to him at the right times IMO Tugay-6- tried to be too clever Savage- 8- Was great today. Nver gave up and won so many balls it was untrue. Also played a few very good passes going forward Pedersen-6- Did nothing during the game, but his set pieces were back to his best Dickov-8- Very good second half, caused Fulhams defence all sorts of problems. If only Bellamy was up front with him Bentley-6- A few good runs, but thats all really.Doesnt look like a striker to me! p.s PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE= Start Kuqi Mr.Hughes. Whats this rubbish about him not being good enough to start. Maybe if he did, we would be going behind in games so often.

I ordered my tickets via phone on Wednesday at 5pm. So i was expecting them to arrive today- but they aint!! Im guessing because its X-Mass, it may be a little late. What happenes if they dont arrive tomorrow? (and no i wont be able to pick em up from Rovers ticket office) Do i have to get some kind of reference number or something?
-
No, but the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool would
-
And even if you dont get tickets. Fulham have a neutral section which is fantastic to sit in! Aslong as your sitting with a few rovers fans around ya.

Well Sav had every right to have a go at Brad. And letting in 9 goals in 4 games suggests why. -

well said John. How underrated is Paul Dickov. He was one of the main reasons why we stayed up last season and has scored some vital goals for us this. He's also always got the bottle to take a pen for us and never gives up. No he's not a natural goalscorer (although his second was a great finish), but he's also got decent skill with the ball which goes unnoticed a lot of the time. All this for just 150k 1 PAUL DICKOV! THERES ONLY 1 PAUL DICKOV! -

I was just about to say. He's hardly been in sparkling form in recent weeks

We lost- because we were down to 10 men, simple. Bloody hell, we lost 1 game. We aint Chelsea, I'd have thought we'd all be use to losing by now. I mean, we've pobably lost more than we have won in the last 10 years. And for people to say that we are suddenly a crap team because we lost a game, really makes me mad. So we failed to take our chances? big deal! Against Charlton in the league, we had 4 chances and scored 4 goals yet after that we are a fantastic side aiming for Europe. West Ham next and for people to say if we lose that we'll be in relegation trouble is totall ######!! I mean, we lost 3-0 at home to Newcastle one day, then 6 days later we beat Man Yoo 2-1 away!! get real people. -

More like playing away against a World Class team who we have no right of getting anything from, and then playing against a team who finished 4th with 10 men for over an hour -

first time I've heard of a team playing well, going down?!! Surely you are aware of the reasons why we did lose these two games? -
I was thinking more of a 'renting' firm. Moving from city to city as she does. And some of those places she talks about are famous for that kind of thing

I was at the game yesterday. And he was no worse than the rest of our players- Gray,Nelsen,Todd,Zura,Reid,Emerton,Pedersen and Bently were all totall @#/? last night. Even the introduction of Thompson made no difference at all.(untill he scored his goal of course ) It was only untill Shefki Kuqi came on did we look any different. So stop talking out your arse Waggy. Maybe you dont like Savage (because you believe what the media tell you) so no need to try and convert others who have just as 'good' football knowledge as you that Savage is a bad player -
even more obvious answer- DEAN SAUNDERS
-
just got back. bloody brilliant!!!!!!! Dont know why we didnt play 442 from the start- kuqi totally changed the game. dur dur da dur SHEFKI KUQI!!! Also, good to see a decent sized Rovers support, must have bee at least 800 and we got to sit anywhere in the lower section of our end
-
what type of firm is this Jan?
-
And some Rovers fans on here fall for this type of media. tut tut

Just watched the game on football first. And i must say, we were so unlucky we played Arsenal when every time they shot-they scored. That wont happen every game for them. Arsenal had 3 chances(well, 2 as Van Persie's goal was just amazing) and scored all 3. Rovers had 6 or 7 half chances that on another day, could have easily gone in. (such as the last time we beat Arsenal at Highbury). I felt every Rovers player played well, especially Bellamy,Reid,Sav,Pedersen(apart from his corners) and Thommo was great in the last 15mins.

seemed a very harsh result. But im sure plenty of positives to take from the game.

[Archived] Our Loaned Players In Action
greggyk replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Well, they might not have at the moment, but they did spend £800,000 on one player this summer. And Im sure they've spent double that overall on quite a number of players.
