Reid on staying with Rovers From his Icons site: I'm delighted to announce that I have signed a new four year contract with Blackburn Rovers. I'm on holiday in Dubai at the moment, so the signing went through after a series of faxes, but now that it's all done and dusted I am really happy and looking forward to the rest of my break! There was speculation linking me with a possible move but it was always my preferred option and intention to stay at Blackburn. I love it up here and have just had the best season of my career so it would have been both risky and difficult to leave and start again elsewhere. I had a good chat with my girlfriend and we both decided that we liked it here. Last season, was the happiest I've ever been since I became a professional. I enjoyed the best year of my career and also the team itself proved that we can challenge for trophies and for European places too. The club is going places. The fact that I am highly thought of too helped make me decide that there was no real reason for me to leave. Mark Hughes recently signed a long term contract, and that is another reason why I was happy to commit myself. The gaffer and his backroom staff are different class and I really enjoy working with them. I have a lot of belief that they will help the team build on last season's success and take us even further forward over the next couple of years. It took me a while to settle at Blackburn, but I finally feel at home now and it's been reflected in my play. I hope and expect the good times to get even better from now on! I couldn't be happier at signing this contract with Blackburn.

This thing with Sweden is a joke! Anyway, first half i thought we were really good. Coles goal was best of the WC so far and Lampard should have made it 2 right at the end of the half. We didn't give Sweden a sniff at goal and we were battering them TBH. Second half, again we were poo!! To be fair though, apart from set pieces, Sweden never looked like scoring(dont think they will be good enough to beat Germany) . Put we should be able to sort those out by Sunday as in open play we defended well. Hargreaves played well too!! Thought Lampard and especially Beckham were woeful. Joe Cole was the best player on the pitch by a mile.

I thought Emerton was typical Emerton tbh. He did nothing effective when attacking. But he looked very good as a defender. Maybe we've found a new right back! We could play a back four of : Emerton, Neill, Nelsen, Gray

Lampards been poor in both games for England IMO. It was Gerrard who was MOM in the first game Btw LeChuck. Ashley Cole was woeful today, along with Owen, Carragher and Joe Cole second half. Terry Venables made good points after the game about bringing in a holding player.But we tried that aginst Paraguay and it failed badly. Only way it would work would be to drop Beckham and play the diamond in midfield with Joe Cole behind the front two. Although even though for the sake off the team, he wont drop Beckham. EDIT: Although, at least from now on we dont have to face teams like T&T who wont let us play football. And even though it wasnt great tonight, on another day we could have easily won 3 or 4 nil with the amount of chances we missed.eg, Crouch, Lampard x3, and Owen all missing easy chances
