  1. I don't think protests inside/outside the ground are futile. Wednesday fans have shown this season, you can make clear your backing for the team and your disgust for the ownership. The yellow card protest, turning their backs in the 10th minute etc - yes, the club can try to dismiss it as just a few angry supporters but it keeps the pressure on them. We all saw how uncomfortable the Pasha Out banner made them and they felt need to finally come out of the shadows. One clear message, change the format of protest each time: Venky's time to go. Support the team, not the regime.
  2. The 'current model' being bleed the club dry of all assets, cut costs and reinvest nothing. Absolutely shameful.
  3. As flagged in the September hearing, what Pasha and Waggott are saying to fans/media is the total opposite from what Venky's are arguing in court. They say no impediment to funding, lawyers say there is an "immense financial burden". Elliott Jackson needs to call that out as at the moment he's taking the club's word for it that the bond is no issue for Venky's despite all evidence to the contrary.
  4. I don't feel like this has been properly flagged, particularly in recent interviews with Suhail, Waggott etc when claiming that there's no issue with Venky's funding the club. But let me know if I'm wrong In the court judgement from September 2024: So there it is in black and white, that Venky's consider it an "immense financial burden" to send funds to the club while Pasha/Waggott claims there is no impediment. They request that the ED close the investigation and end the need for providing the bank guarantees. There's been no update since then as the case has been relisted and relisted. Has that ever been put to Pasha/Waggott in interviews or fans forum? I can see no mention of this order in the Lancashire Telegraph etc.
  5. The order from yesterday's hearing hasn't been published yet. 5 August was the listing date from the 25 March hearing. But then there was the 'surprise' hearing on 24 April that listed the next hearing as 8 May. Not getting too excited but the fact that hearings are now taking place a few weeks after each other is some progress on the 2/3 month wait there previously was.
  6. I mentioned Small back in January. That would have been the time to do that deal, but we brought in Ribiero instead. Unless plan is to ship Pickering out then don't think there's much to this one.
  7. A mad stat that. 3 of those 6 went up automatically, 1 in playoffs, us missing out in 7th and then Stevenage down in 14th.
  8. I think the reality with the Championship now is that you will always have 3 or 4 teams near the top that have almost Prem-level squads and budgets. Next year, you'll also have Birmingham and to a lesser extent, Wrexham in that mix. From 6th/7th to 24th, you'll have teams with broadly similar budgets and problems off the pitch. How those teams finish is a lottery. Fans of Watford, QPR, Oxford, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, Hull City, Swansea, and Stoke will all be having the same worries as us. You can count Millwall, Derby and Bristol City in that too if their managers get poached or walk. You're one bad/good run away from the relegation and playoff places in this league. Keep the core of this squad and new contracts for Brittain, Hyam, Trav and Tronstad then I feel confident we'll end up towards the top half. Let them go or have them poached in January then it'll be another tense final day for us.
  9. A young John Fleck, Waggott will be all over it!
  10. For all of the mistakes that happened on his watch (and I suspect he was being deliberately undermined by Suhail etc), it's clear Broughton is infinitely more competent than Gestede. He was Head of Academy at Bodo/Glimt - and was part of the reason they've been punching above their weight for the last 5/6 years. When he was here, he's probably been the most visible and transparent communicator the club has had in Venky's time. He convinced JDT to join, understood the need to tie players down to protect their value and was part of implementing a playing philosophy that would support young players into the first team. He also fronted up when mistakes were made - even when I think he was sold down the river by the club (McGuire). If we had properly funded and supported Broughton and JDT, I've no doubt that we would be in the play off picture regularly and eventually make the step up. Gestede is just thankful he has a job at this level. He'll continue to pay lip service to his employers because he knows like Steve Kean that once this party is over, no club at any proper level will touch him. I guarantee in 10 years time he'll be running some no mark football academy in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia or Brunei.
  11. Brilliant that the PASHA OUT sign is visible in the highlights posted on the official Rovers channel. Wonder if we'll see Gueye's chance at the end cut out and the highlights re-uploaded? 🤣
  12. Bonkers appointment. 10 months ago Karthik Hariharan was doing an internship at QPR (assisting a recruitment analyst) and studying for a Masters. A few months later he's Head of Data Science and Football Insights at Rovers.
  13. No mention about any money. Just that he's planning to "transform" the squad in the summer and that the games this season are just a trial to see who he'll keep in the squad. Honestly, it's just pure tosh.
  14. 1. What's the desired end game. Venky's selling the club and the removal of the club's senior leadership (CEO, COO and HOF) 2. What's the compromise position. I'd accept Venky's retaining a minority stake in BRFC, but selling the majority, removing the current senior leadership and handing over control of all football matters to new investor. 3. What's your general thoughts on our approach to date. Excellent, inclusive and not telling fans what they should or shouldn't be doing. Drawn the senior leadership out and got them panicking. 4. What's your thoughts on the Exec interviews yesterday. They are absolutely rattled and have no idea how to respond. They haven't learnt from their mistakes 15 years ago during the Kean era and they deserve absolutely everything coming to them. 5. Do you want to get more involved. Happy to help in any way I can.
  15. The Trust need to recognise and call out that the club are not acting in good faith. They are being strung along and held up by the Board as examples of engagement with fans. No point engaging with Waggott as he doesn't have any power. They need to put out a statement backing the right to protest and explicitly call for Venky's/Suhail's removal.
  16. I miss the days of someone on here giving a live commentary of a Delhi courtroom for 6 hours only to realise the Venky's case was listed in another court.
  17. 150th anniversary and they've done nothing to mark it. Offer the first 1000 season tickets at £150 or run a draw to get a £150 season ticket and offer a small discount to anyone who signs up but not successful.
  18. If I was a Derby fan, I'd be most worried about the "winnable" home games under Eustace. The games where we should have being shown some initiative last season were the ones we struggled most in - Plymouth, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry.
  19. The length of the contract is the thing that stood out to me too. Bizarre that he got offered a longer deal than Kargbo, particularly given his history for not sticking around too long.
  20. If you're Gary O'Neil, you're 100% waiting around for the Boro job. A former club with a board that is willing to invest and some consistent ambition of being at top end of Championship and trying to get back to Premier League. I suspect he's probably had some conversations with Boro and told to hang tight.
  21. If you've heard Big Sam speak recently, he's obviously not the character he was.
  22. Also keeping Derby up is a harder task than keeping us up last season. After 31 games last season, we were on 37 pts and stayed up by skin of our teeth. Derby are on 29. If Eustace goes it speaks volumes of Waggott/Suhail and how club is being run.
  23. You'd hope this would be a wake up call to Waggott/Suhail, but sure they'll only see it as chance to get some money in to pad out accounts for season.
  24. I can see Siggy as the man being left out. I suspect he gets a move to Sweden/Norway in the next few weeks and Dennis will play across front 3 if required. Dennis to me seems like a massive risk. No football in 9 months...assuming he's been in full training for whole season, he's gonna need a good 6 weeks to build match fitness before he can play 90 minutes.
