  1. probably a good by to the players maybe... Only thing I can think of!
  2. Eustace taking training this morning before speaking to the board... make it make sense!
  3. 3-0 loss, and and knowing our luck we lose someone like dennis to a hamstring injury just to top it off, the beginning of the plummet? hard to stay positive really. a really horrible fixture to have off the back of a qpr defeat and manager out the door. Or a Damien Johnson master class 1-0 win.....
  4. On Twitter I’ve read a few calling for the like of Russel Martin or Steve cooper. 1. There isn’t a chance in hell we get a big profile manager, there’s a reason our managers keep leaving, it’s because there is no money! 2. We don’t want any type of manager like Russel Martin type, that style of football doesn’t suit the current crop we do have, we are not a passing out from our own goal and being one dimensional. We suit more of a manager that’s like a pulis\alladyce\dyche\warnock\ style, as in a manager that’s requires hard work all round the pitch off the ball, and in possession can mix it up. i have seen people mention lee Carsley online and to me I think he will fall into the Russel Martin bracket, of one dimensional has to play pep football, won’t suit us. I don’t hold too much hope waggot will get it right and I don’t think we have the money to get anyone decent in. I also think it will be a lazy decision as in who’s in wagots phone book he gets on well with out of a job, that will do. That’s kind of where eustace fit the bill when he got the job. in my opinion eustace is %10000 leaving this week at some stage, I also think he’s instigated this, derby don’t just pay half a million to a club in hope the manager will leave 6th spot to bottom 3 without knowing it’s a goer. I’d imagine waggot like the JDT situation has someone already lined up ready to go and come in swiftly. i also think Venkys won’t even be involved, they probably say to waggot here’s your allowance for the season that’s all your getting crack on with it. So imagine there is no discussions to be had to negotiate between eustace and waggot.
  5. Get on the phone to Damian duff. Him and Johnson till end of season if he leaves us.
  6. think i read somewhere the scandanavian transfer window clsoes in mid march. Wouldnt be surprised if we try to ship him out on loan or for a fee. But he has been "injured" for sometime, the way our december has gone we cant really be carrying too many who are prone to injuries, good player on his day, but sadly that day isnt too often, and thats because he can never be available long enough.
  7. im purely trying to keep positive. And I am going to try and put a positive spin on the woodrow signing. He is more of a 10 as I read, and as he may be a bit underwhelming of a signing, I cant forget how bad Cantwell was on Tuesday, looked so uninterested, you at least run around and try and look half assed. Cantwell also doesn't really chip in with many goals. Woodrow with something to prove in the 10 just might work. Cantwell needs a kick up his ass, and if woodrow coming in with stern comp in that 10 role may just either give us a player thats come to prove a point, or gets cantwell moving out of 1st gear... Or they both just end up stinking!
  8. Got to say we were poor first half. And 2nd half we looked good for a 10 minute spell when we got the penalty. Then cantwell came on…. I don’t know if cantwell is injured but it was like playing with 10men when he was on. Just casually trotted around for the duration he was on, didn’t break a sprint. Poor old gueye was done after 70mins ish. He had a 33 year old who to be fair to Weiman does try to run but doesn’t have the legs and then a cantwell walking around, I saw on countless times Gueye running past both his partners during the game, he had nothing left after around 70/75, and then Gueye looks poor towards the end as he had no energy left. for the 9 minutes kargbo got in total it was nice to see him beat a man in a 1 v 1! Not one other player in a rovers shirt has been able to do that. Got what we deserved, need the newbies up to speed quick, think I’d throw them in the deep in asap. As frustrating a player as he is, was a surprise to see Dolan get subbed. He seems to be at least running, and chances seem to come his way. Was at least in the thick of it more than hedges. Think hedges and cantwell need to stay out the team for a bit
  9. I have to say I do think we could benefit off a 10 if Gueye continued his form, hes crying out for someone to get on the pieces around him to do the finishing. Cantwell is technically very good but he doesnt have the goal instinct and seems to go walkies to try and find the ball. Woodrow could end up being good then if hes more offensive up there in that role.
  10. I still think we’ve missed a trick not getting another winger. We’ve been crying out for a winger for years and with pace and I’m still unsure we’ve done anything about it. Again if kargbo is not very good then we will carry on struggling to give any service to any strikers we have that start. Dennis doesn’t seem like he’s going to be match fit with his lack of any game time in last 6 months. If we’ve striked lucky with kargbo then happy days, if not, I think we fall short no matter who is up top. let’s hope Woodrow and Dennis pull something out the bag to help us push on. Currently I don’t see any of our signings coming in to improve the 11 straight away apart from help with squad numbers. Il shut up being negative as I didn’t expect permanents and we were never going to spend money to get proper quality in, just frustrated we couldn’t get a winger on loan we’ve been crying out for to improve the 11. I do think a quality winger pushes this team forward. Hopefully im proved wrong! also can Woodrow play in the 10? Or are him and Dennis just 9s?
  11. I reckon 0-0 or 1-1. Point away midweek is not to be sniffed either, especially as we are still short in numbers. Going to be a big ask for Trav to start again I would of thought, and we dont look great without either trav or tronstad starting, although trav has had a few days to of rested up, might get an hour out of him. The start of an undefeated league run will do
  12. Imo, I would say we need another winger with pace. We’re relying heavily on an unknown to come in and hit the ground from leagues that aren’t exactly great, serie C and B… if he’s no good we’re relying on hedges and Dolan which everyone knows aren’t good enough to be starters. I’d almost say it’s more important than another number 9. Gueye is now looking a real handful and suiting how we play. Yuki will be back soon and we have Leonard. I would almost say the service for strikers is more important than another 9 if we only have enough to get one more in. If we manage to get danns where does he play ? In the 9? I’d say he probably won’t be as effective as Gueye for us, can’t see him being as physical and handful as Gueye. He might be better in front of goal when striking a ball but we need wingers to actually cause issues and get the ball in to the striker. Unless danns can play wing or 10, I’d almost say a winger is more crucial. Wonder what others think ?
  13. makes you wonder if there's a knock on affect with this kagbo deal, in terms of what it will cost and what we will have left to play with. I imagine hes someone's top of whoever's list. Reading the LTs comments seems like this will role all the way on until the last day of the window in terms of still needing to fly over, have a medical and get a visa accepted. Wouldn't be surprised to see us panic sign on the last day with whatever we can afford with whatever's left over to sign in the remaining budget after this deal which will be the inevitable last few hours of the window. When Eustace says were close, its because there's only 3 or 4 days left of the window so were just days away from some form of signing.
  14. Thank you very much for the offer. I have a ST in the ronnie clayton BBE. I am dragging my poor old man to this as my misses cant make it haha. Im a blues member to so will be in there before the game starts for a pint. Happy to have a chat and a beer in there before hand if anyone fancies it.
  15. not sure why I'm doing it, but I've got a nice 8 hour round trip for this game Friday. Usually Il stay over, but cant for this one. I'm predicting a working hard performance but falling short to a 1 or 2-0 loss with any view of signings coming on the last day to sum it up of kids on loan from prem teams. Please can gueye recent performances just turn into goals from the lad. Do we ever win any derby games anymore against any of them?
  16. it does make you think, imagine some form of miracle where eustace got this squad of players promoted to the prem. WHAT A SHAMBLES we would be in the PREM! They wouldn't spend then! We would get battered week in week out. Maybe it would put them back in the light of dogNduck owners on the global stage. I would love to get in a room with venkys. So many questions to want to ask.
  17. come one then, what have we got left: Toth RB: ??? anyone fancy it ? dion Hyam Beck Guess we dont have enough players for a right back... good start Buckley Forshaw Dolan Cantwell Duberry Gueye Leonard Weimann Hedges Guess Hedges slots into right back? just throwing a name there tbh, maybe he can play half ok in that position, because he isnt a winger. Leonard and Weiman arent subs, its just showing whats left in numbers if you were to put what names are fit on a sheet. Looks pretty depressing for options. If I had to throw a team together out of that for Saturday think I would go: Hedges dion Hyam beck buckley cantwell Weiman Leonard Dubbery Gueye And I wouldnt sit as I dont think we have the personal for it. It still gets beat either way lol! currently out: Pears Britain JRC ? Mcfadzean - GONE Garrett - going Bath ? Pickering Duru - ON LOAN - great timing Siggy - sick note, smoking cigars chilling Trav tronstad Yuki
  18. It beggers belief why we are so quick to offload players before bringing any in. I said before we could shoot ourselves in the foot by sending duru out on loan. And now costello and Britain look potentially injured. And batth. Mcfadzean out the door also. And also Garrett looks on his way out. This angers me the most, a lot of people say for their players progression, sod that! First team comes first, if there needed as potential back up they shouldn’t be allowed to leave until players come in. Every day it feels someone’s leaving on loan when every day we look short in numbers. Baffled! The loss was almost a certainty for me personally imo, it’s the injuries and lack of thought about letting players go before getting anyone in that’s really annoyed me after the injuries racking up.
  19. Question: Would you keep Garret on for the season over Forshaw after the 60 minutes we witnessed? I know its only 60 minutes, but he got turned alot in midfield, easy to pop it around and struggled to keep up. He tried Il give him that, but looked off the pace, put a couple challenges in when he was close, but overall looked past it, but again was only one 60 mins. For all Garretts inexperience, least he can get around a pitch... Just wondered what people would pick. From what I have seen hes no better than a current Garrett or JRC. I can see why theye got him in for peanuts, but not sure we can be asking him to start games.
  20. my prediction rovers 0 - 2 Cov. With Tronstad and Travis both out, think we will struggle to collect points until one is back. Based on the 60 minutes I saw of Forshaw think were going to be easily played through, and that strong back 4 we think we have might not look so strong with lack of protection. (I feel Eustace will pick him over JRC) HOPE IM WRONG! Still no need to panic what so ever, injuries are part of the league campaign, just need to whether the storm until we get trav or tronstad back. Look at QPR! their 6 points from playoffs out of nowhere, and we have already proven we can put a run together if everyone's available. Also as bad as we were 2nd half Saturday against a side flying btw! we dont exactly pull too many trees up when we do "perform", its just how we are set up, without that deflection, and if tronstad stays on the pitch I think we grind that 0-0 out.
  21. my prediction: horrible watch, 1-1, difficult oppo, BIG Mak to score AGAIN!
  22. I cant really see us getting any sort of regular championship scorer with the lack of money we have. But when your potentially a striker with good attributes, and being told your going to be the main man, and you get played in your actual position up top, not out of position out wide, sometimes that can give a striker a hell of a boost, and you just never know... We have had strikers in the past with poor records and turn out to do very well when coming to us. Confidence goes a long way in any sport. I think who ever we get in, if they have some form of pedigree (and not injury prone) I would say theres definitely a chance of them hitting the ground running at rovers (We do also need a winger in the door that can help create a chance or 2 though!) We are 7th atm with not the best forwards as it is, if anyone comes in thats an improvement on our current crop thats helped us get to 7th then happy days. I wouldnt get too carried away with scoring track records, sometimes it can just work!
  23. I agree he needs to develop, but in our current situation, if Brittain gets injured, who goes right back? = Costello does. Which then leaves you with tronstad and buckley in cm, then after 60 mins when one is knackered who comes on in cm?...... nobody available currently. I just think we need to have someone coming in if hes going out. Id rather have him there as cover than us being bare bones, as he looks very promising. He also has something we lack - pace. If the option was keep Garret as a backup cm, then Id rather not. I would rather have Costello as a cm option playing Duru right back than Garret in cm. I think Duru looks like he will be a player, where as I dont see a world where Garret does, plus trying to learn a trade in cm is a hell of a lot harder than learning it at full back in the championship. IMO.
  24. Squad wise currently right now that are fit to play we have: Toth\pears RB - Brittain LB - Beck CBS - Mcfadzean|Hyam\Batth CMs - Buckley\Costello\Tronstad AMS\Wingers - Dolan\Cantwell\Hedges\Weiman\Dubberyy ST - Gueye\Leonard 17 players.... unless i missed anyone ? Injured - Trav - probably 3 weeks till he plays? Yuki - another 5 weeks, and hes also played over a season of football Siggy - sick note pickering - March is it? carter - probably another 3 weeks? Lets say a couple are back available by 1st feb, we have got 6 games to get through with 17 players... 15 which are outfield players.. We need 3 signings in asap. I reckon it will end up being 2 loans at the end of the window as desperation kids from prem clubs.
