get a better keeper in, fullback cover, and potentially 1 or 2 pacey wingers, and keep szmods, then you cant not agrue a case for a playoff push. Seasons top scorer, a more stern defence, and a better bench. Anything is then possible. But 1000000% see szmods going the final few days of the window leaving us no time to spend any money, which is what venkys probably want to happen, gives them an excuse.

I didnt go to the stockport game, but I am only commenting from what I saw on the rovers highlights. Looks like we played alright but missed a hatful of easy chances. I get the feeling gueye is a bit of a jason Roberts, great around the pitch, but useless in front of goal when it matters. Also painful to see nobody else take chances. If their is a god looking down on us and szmods stays, I can see him getting another 30 goals playing off of Gueye. From those highlights he looked a good player around the pitch, I just think he requires a goal snatcher off him. BUT we all know friendlies are not much to look at, we won the premier league without winning a friendly if i remember correctly! We need a couple players in with an eye for goal desperately! Wish the season was another month away 😂

Whatever happens friday, If its not great, I think fans need to remember, its going to be hard to picture what we are really about until probably mid September at the earliest. We have had an influx of new players that haven't played friendlies for us, plus he still wants another 3-4 players in. That would take it to like 8/9 new players with no friendlies, no pre season to bed in with our current crop. Think it will be a slow start. Not really ideal prep!

I didn't know where to post this question, as its transfer thread. But in the friendlies so far, that people have watched, what's Connor O'Riordan looked like? All of last seasons signings are gone apart from him. We paid money for him, you would think he should be in the fold this season considering, and already has efl appearances under his belt. With us being short of CBs is he good enough to be apart of game time? Would be like a new signing if he was capable.

Not exactly the easiest job. I imagine there are people high up in the blackburn staff that dont really know whats going on. I imagine budget goalposts get changed by the second, and i imagine only a very select couple of people may know. But with the Venkys, you've just got the unknown, he may well get told something by a rovers official only for things to just rapidly change. Either way I cant imagine the football club are going to phone him and tell him exact figures and plans. I would imagine the budget is going to be limited anyway. Its like us fans wanting to know whats going on, in what world do any clubs tell fans whats going on. Im sure we can all make our own conclusions of the mess were probably in, but it blows my mind sometimes when I read things on socials about fans not knowing about things. Club needs some form of tactical strategy when trying to purchase players. If we start sounding out we have a war chest its not the brightest strategy is it. And I'm in no way saying this is the case, just giving a potential alternative view. But I think people need to realise the clubs not going to be telling someone the ins and outs, maybe snippets to show some communication with fans, but we cant expect to be told the exact truths most of the times. I highly doubt he would release statements he didnt believe was true, knowing it will only make himself look silly.

I live 200 miles away. I have purchased a season ticket. I went to 12 away games last season. Ive decided Id like to try and do a chunk of home games. I need some help on what places in blackburn are good for hotel stays when I come up. or even pubs with accommodation above. Any recommendations?

For us to even start thinking of play offs next season we need: GK LB RB CB 2 x wingers, one must be able to have PACE! a lump of CF. potentially a 10 if szmods goes. And one of those signings above need to be able to take good set pieces. anything less and we will be in championship or league 1 come end of next season.

My 11 I would go for: Pears (there is nobody else) JRC Carter ORiordan (if whartons injured) Chrisene Tronstad Buckley Dolan szmodics Gilsenan Gallagher I am not a massive fan of the above 11 btw its just about all I can think of maybe getting something out of the current dreadful group.

those stats go to show us we are not very good with the ball. It shows we make our own problems. We have a group of players not capable of the passing game. We have a group of players not capable of the route one game either. We have a 6ft + striker not capable of holding a ball nor heading a ball, works hard but lacks any sort of real quality. We are very youth teamy naïve, mentally weak, heavily reliant on someone to get us out the Sh!t (szmods). Nothing bodes too well. I also dont see them sacking Eustace whether we avoid the drop or not. We are the club where you have your contract until it expires so we don't have to pay off anyone. I do see a lot of posts that say such and such should be dropped, but then I think who the heck replaces them, not much is really any good which is why we are near the bottom. The only player I think we can maybe chuck in at some stage that we just might get something out of would be Gilsenan, not saying hes the answer, but hes someone with something to prove, and has at least shown glimpses. Id for one shove that player in the starting 11 at home to cov.

100% agree, they have nothing to lose sheff weds, and they simply wont go away, they have a feel of the great escape about them. I fear the worst even after Saturdays heroics. We haven't proven to do heroics consecutively. Id snap hands off for a draw right now. Going to be a nervy saturday i feel. I read something on twitter about what price should Szmodics be worth. I find it imo nonsense he should go for less than 20mill. People arguing his age keeps his tag down to 10-15 mill. I'm sorry but Would Harry Kane be going for 10-15 mill because of his age? not a chance! your buying goals, your buying a player in the form of his life, your buying a player at the complete finished package of his overall game. Whether its premier league or championship, prem clubs could argue hes unproven, fine dont buy him, but hes our best asset. Championship clubs on the other hand will want him to get them promoted, that comes at a price, hes the leagues top scorer, you pay full whack for that in the championship, no matter the age, if hes bought buy a promoting chasing championship team your buying a player at his pinnacle, your buying him chasing the dream of the promisland, you pay top end simple, you dont get him cheap because we are little old blackburn who got their pants pulled down on wharton to palace, or because we are near the bottom of the league, or because hes going to be 29 this year. Give your heads a wobble, stand firm, give us the 20mill minimum because we have one of the best attacking players in this division, and we aint replacing him for any amount of money we will get given. We also need a total rebuild of our front line, so we need the dosh. We simply have to be firm. I will personally be fuming if we sell for less than 20mill. If clubs really want him, they will pay it.

not sure what game you were watching, but I dont rmember anyone lumping it to him until we passed it all the way into our own corner flag with no option but to try and lump it. We passed it out wide alot and back to where it came from until we got forced back to our own goal and then lumped it. Or we would try and pass the ball down the sides, but Brittain cant pass wind, so the ball never reached our front line.
