  1. seeing Millwall having a bit of an injury crisis, im going to try and be positive and say a score draw or maybe a sneaky win. Im going to predict we dont lose. if i could pick an 11 thats currently fit id go: pears miller McLoughlin Pratt morishita baraji tronstad pickering cantwell yuki Gudjohnsen
  2. I do wonder if anything will affect the venkys.. 15 years and not really a word from them. I do sometimes wonder as well with the bizarre decision makings we've seen down the last 15 years whether we are still being run by Z agent, and Venkys is just a name to cover it up.. Protests have happened before and they just stay silent. I am in no way discouraging the protest idea or anything im just voicing a feeling that i feel they dont seem to give a damn, which is just so odd and fishy. Some of the decisions we've witnessed over these 15 years have been sporadic, and sometimes absolutely nuts, where it just makes no sense ever. Sometimes it also feels like deliberate sabotage. I do sometimes get the feeling does this make a certain company or person something beneficial out of us (rather than this being solely a venkys ownership), it never ever feels like the end goal should be promotion or successful results, everything just never adds up and always seems fishy. I know something must be done, I just have that feeling that whatever does happen Venkys wont care or respond like they usually do. Also attendances are already dire, just not sure anything more will look too obvious as it already looks empty most the time. I suppose we can not give up, and the show goes on, we all care the football club and all want the same goal. Just hope we get some hope we deserve sooner or later.
  3. with him going to afcon, think if i was VI id look to go with morishita as right wing back. He looks to me as our best crosser of a football. He also has the japanese work rate to do the up and down work.
  4. Quite an even game I thought. Lacked a lot of quality in the match. Thought qpr set themselves up pretty well. They stood off us and let our back 3 have the ball and gave no room in midfield to have it easy passing into midfield. Our back 3 just passed sideways and qpr tried to force us into mistakes. Both teams had massive chances, I have to say the difference imo was the triple change we made. Forshaw and Gueye coming on were not needed imo. Gudjohnsen didn’t look tired and with someone like him who’s able to score you would just keep him on unless he tires which he hadn’t. Yuki had run himself Into the ground with 7/8 mins left but he’d made his changes. The goal came from a tired poor pass from miller. Then de neve didn’t get himself back to cover around. Felt like a game of fine margins, and it was I think the subs killed it and I also think the squad in depth for qpr maybe shown it was better than ours… baffling subs. I think that stops talk of playoff pushes. Let’s just try to take a game at a time and get enough points to stay in this league as we cant seem to cope at home.
  5. my predicted 11: Pears miller mcloughln pratt alebiousu hinckman montgomery hedges morishita yuki Gudjohnsen My predicted score: 1-1
  6. Im happy he threw Pratt in. Made sense tbf, its a sink or swim opportunity and if he wouldn't get used now when will he ever!?. He did alright. I have to say it shut me up a bit the performance. I thought we would get beat 3/4-1. Some players starting to show signs they've got it at this level. Id say we still need another aerial winning CB through the door as we've only realistically got Pratt, Mcloughlin, miller and wharton. Sadly I've given up hope on carter. Id also look at RWB cover for alebiousu, its a shame Duru doesnt seem to be doing too much on loan (I dont think, unless im wrong?!), could of been a backup option when needed for alebiousu if he'd turned to something promising... I feel we have enough CMs to get by. We need another striker, because if Gudjohnsen gets injured im not sure who actually would score. I imagine pickering and gueye will be offloaded if we can find a cb and a striker.
  7. I know hes classed as "injured" but this seems really dodgy to me. What started as a knock seems to of gone on for at least a month. There never seems to be any real info on it. Any inside knowledge here? It feels like dejavu a bit from history gone by.
  8. bad feeling about this one. I think a draw at best, and id take it. Hopefully we continue the away form.
  9. got bullied Saturday didn't we. Men v boys. Experience v inexperience. We struggle against direct physical teams. We struggle in both boxes for set pieces to when a teams got a couple powerful players. It was pretty obvious i felt how it was going to pan out. I see elliot jackson saying he felt we played the same formation with hedges as a left sided cb, i disagree, it didn't really look like that to me. To me it looked like a disjoineted 4 at the back to start with. Alebiousu galloping from right back all the way up to the opposite full back to close the ball down was never going to work. Gudjohnsen looked like he played as a floating winger\striker. Was neither in any of those positions was practically anonymous all game. Didnt look like our normal formation that had won 3 games ina row until the 2nd half, first half looked to me as a 4 at the back. Yuki really needs top work on his touch and hold up play, practically gave the ball away at every chance he got. The team all seemed rather unbalanced. Not one player on our pitch competed with anything in the air at both ends. I think it took till around 70th minute for us to win a header of any note. I for the life of me will never understand our consistent use of long throws in every game when we haven't a player capable of winning a header. Then we bring gueye on and he doesnt even stand in a position to try and win the first phase of the long throw, Morris just kept heading it all away. Just seemed like a team not having to do too much to get the job done and knew what was needed to win against a side lacking with any know how. Really need an ugly cb and Striker dont we to just help us in these types of games. Cant see us beating preston or wrexham in our next batch, we get bullied in both of those imo. Cant see more than 4 points from next 4 games, and id say that puts us right back in the relegation picture. Monday rant done.
  10. Timing, timing, timing. We've played Leicester and Southampton all at the right time, we now play bristol away on the back of a 5-1 mauling. I think we can take at least a point here, id be surprised if we won, and id be surprised if they win off the back off a 5-1 defeat. Draw all over it?... if we come out of this without a loss its a good result.
  11. weird one this, on paper looks difficult, but timing wise, its a great time to play them, they aren't in form, and we've just come through winning from a goal behind. Lets hope confidence helps us. Can see us getting something from this game. But would not be surprised to see us get beat either.
  12. Got season ticket. Got to give it some use. Support the team not the regime. I come up on a Friday and go home Sunday so the footballs usually the worst bit of the weekend 😂.
  13. Lose today and it will start to look like we’re getting cut adrift already. I mean I’m accepting relegation already. buzzing traveling 5 hours to never see us win…
  14. I do find it strange that he came out and said miroshita was there main target all summer and they waited on purpose to get him… you would think a statement like that means he would be playing every week. I actually think he might work better than henrikson behind the strikers. Least when he does have the ball he actually looks like he has some quality to do something with it
  15. Think id stick with same formation from sat. If I could pick an 11 thats available id go: Toth Wharton mcloughlin Pickering Alebiousu hinckman tronstasd hedges morishita Gueye Yuki assuming millers still injured.
  16. thinking about the shortness of cm, could pickering fill in if needed? square peg in round hole and all that? 🤷‍♂️
  17. with Bradji now likely to not feature till probably December, and forshaw being injured, we really are short at cm. The international breaks have probably helped us a little in terms of keeping our cm duo of hinckman and tronstad fresh ish. Tavares needs to pull his finger out and adapt, or the start of saturday\tuesday matches are going to take its toll on a thin\lack of quality squad. We are already struggling with practically a full squad to select from let alone add more injuries to a couple that can actually do a job at this level. Take cantwell and either tronstad or hinckman out, then we really are bottom of the barrel team.
  18. Lets hope ranges go for lampard before this fixture... If i had to pick a team: Toth Alebiousu mcloughlin wharton Hedges Miroshita tron hinckman De neve cantwell Gueye Play percentages and for 2nd balls. Make it ugly. I dont like any of our strikers, but we lack any height in midfield or up top. Or put 2 strikers up there and go 352 and give it a go. Does feel like we have a back 3 capable and we do have wingbacks. toth Miller Mcloughlin wharton alebiousu tron hinckman de neve cantwell yuki Andri
  19. I’m putting myself in the category who thought that was not good enough yesterday . What I watched was massively worrying. Until de neve came on it was massively worrying. A team that did not look championship level. Apart from cantwell there really is an alarming lack of quality. The turnover of the football is embarrassing, it’s not about possession but it’s about what you do with the ball what the game plan is, you can have possession football, you can have non possession football and you can play both those ways on purpose, but we can’t make 3 passes together most the time. Goal kicks are practically giving the opposition the ball back, I must of counted way too many times a goal kick gives the ball back to the opposition whether it’s a long goal kick or whether it’s short goal kick where toth chips a hospital ball to alebiousu. Apart from de neve who came on and morishita, nobody seems to have any technical ability to actually cross a football. It’s very easy to just pass through us because our pressing is abysmal. The long throws we try time and time and time again. We’ve had 1 long throw that’s worked this season which was in this game and that’s only because nobody won the header, how about mixing it up. We can’t take set pieces, and if the ball does go in the box nobody can win a header. We look worrying defending set pieces, and our goalkeeper doesn’t come off his line. the only time we looked a threat before de neve came on is if stoke gave us the opportunity to. We had no cm as backup on the bench yesterday. The lack of technical ability in our side and lack of depth is so bad I really worry. If it wasn’t for cantwell having some bit of magic we don’t score yesterday. it’s hard to tell whether Andri up front is good or bad, the lack of anyone able to get near him because we’re so deep in defending because we aren’t good enough to press in a good shape or because we’re all running around hard chasing shadows because we keep giving the ball away that when he does get any action he’s feeding off scraps because we don’t create a thing and that he’s spent 40 minutes doing doggy’s chasing shadows he’s probably tired. Or he’s just not good enough I don’t know. But apart from morishitas cross all he did was just run to the left cb or right cb or chase down a hopeless pass/punt forward to him. I watched yesterday thinking, we can’t cross a ball, we can’t take set pieces, we can’t make enough patterns of play where we make 3 + passes together, keep turning over possession we are constantly chasing the ball. We won’t seem to have any really individual quality apart from maybe 2 players. Stoke for example could have been rubbish but you know cresswell or thomas might just put in a decent set piece that will decide the game. Or have that moment of quality. I just think when you struggle to be able to do the basics and keeping being sloppy with the ball you aren’t going to go very far. I mean it was a lot better when de neve came on but when balls are falling to players like tronstad on the 18 yard line you already know for all that hard effort we won’t score unless it falls to maybe 1 or 2. You know the long throw pressure will probably turn into an opposition attack. You know if we get into a crossing position the ball probably won’t be a first man or the cross will turn into an opposition attack because of the lack of quality. for me the only positive from that game is that it’s opened up a door for a partnership of de neve and hedges, they worked very well together. Rather than just relying on alebiousu to gallop down one side and pitching wedge a cross in, we can maybe now have something down the left wing a bit with a full back and a winger that are happy to get forward. But boy are we hoping baradji can actually Get fit and have something about him. Hickman and tronstad do ok cm but they are limited, you need a 3rd option. People can say draws a good result, to me it’s an alarming performance. A good last 25. That’s my opinion. Let’s hope it improves
  20. everything points to a stoke win. But the championship has its way of producing the unexpected... here's praying.
  21. score prediction: 1-1 if i could pick out of an available 11: assuming alebiosu is injured: Toth Miller Wharton McLoughin Ribeiro hickman tron miroshita Cantwell hedges Andri
  22. Modern day football can be so over complicated. Thats gone down as one of the worst matches ive watched. So frustrating when somethings clearly not working they continue to carry on doing it. How many times did we create our own problems, trying to play out from the back and turning over possession. It was so predictable, every time we passed the ball the to our fullbacks it was so easily read you can see the charlton wingers already running to our fullbacks before toths passed them the ball. I do think when bringing on Andri he should of left Morishita on for a bit to give him a chance to link up with him, Morishita was having a poor game but sometimes when a player has ability they can produce it at any moment, and with Andri coming on you'd of thought a clever striker near him might of helped Morishitas game a bit. Bringin on kargbo to cross balls whos not the best technically just seemed a bit brain dead, chasing a goal probably should of left morishita and kargbo on rather than hedges, but because our teams so small thats probably why hedges stayed on over morishita at the time. Also I think we need to give up with these long throws, we literally only have wharton that may win a header, smallest team ever, and the 2 players any good at winning headers is the one taking it or the other Cb, who then have to sprint the length of the pitch back to defend. Very bad day all round, and its always going to happen. Massive week ahead, really need to get 3 points tuesday. Charlton put balls into the box when they could, and pressed us well because we were so predictable in how we did things. An easy basic game plan, unmarked first goal set the tone. Set pieces at both ends a real worry for us. Ruined a good drinking day that.
  23. my predicted 11: toth alebiousu miller Wharton ribeiro tavares tron Ryo cantwell hedges Yuki bench - pickering / carter / taylor / monty / katgbo / gudjohnsen / goalie I dont see us getting anything better than a draw at the very best. I thought this against hull and we were superb. Still dont see a win. I do wonder if we may just prefer playing away than at home, as i think it might be less pressure for them away.
  24. Michalski, i couldnt be assed to google the name.
