BRFC - The Nostalgia Thread
darrenrover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
For my sins, amongst everything else I'm currently on with, I'm preparing a site in my back garden for a greenhouse and a decent sized veg plot. In the middle of my proposed veg plot is a Rhodendron and 2 Camellia bushes, all long established. I was going to leave them all in but then thought sod it, they've got to come out, so out came the chainsaw and big axe: I made mincemeat of the Rhodendron and white Camellia in a matter of minutes. I was about to set about the final pink Camellia and stopped myself. I thought "shit, I can't destroy 'Speedie', it's of sentimental value"! I bought it as a twig for a couple of quid from a garden centre in Plymouth in 1992 when my Dad and I were killing time having arrived early for the match. Obviously Speedie went on to score a hat-trick and secured our place in the play offs (hence my naming of the bush) No way could I cut him down! -

Brilliant bazza: We've all so many fantastic stories to tell, there's gotta be a book in there, surely? -
If I were to 'educate', I'd then be accused of being patronising by some. (which I most definitely am not) I don't disagree with you at all and in the grand scheme of things, I don't want to prejudice any potential good that may come as a consequence of OUR actions. Hence the reason for saying "last post" several times. I am however, so revved up and angry, particularly at some who purport to have the best interests of BRFC at heart but clearly don't, that temptation has got the better of me and I have felt the need to respond, when in truth, I would probably have been better keeping my gob shut...but I am what I am!

Aye, all this is a right laugh and a joke isn't it? Absolute fucking nonsense!

Question: If you have a pint pot, would you not agree that it will only fit a pint of liquid in it? (rhetorical, obviously) So if you have 18 acres and are compliant to Cat 1 standards, how the fuck do you then fit that into 9 acres and still be Cat 1 compliant? (For the avoidance of doubt, Seniors and Juniors need to be totally detached and separate entities) I said I wouldn't post any more on here and I won't but there are some that are about to make my already boiling blood, boil over!! PS, The Moon's made out of cheese, Waggott said it's fecking Stilton, is that what he told you?

Final point from me, a real motivation and a driving force behind our determination: Wouldn't it be great, if all we as fans had to worry and debate about was: transfer activity, team selection, how we performed in a match, mistakes we made, who played well and who played badly, what the team should be, in our opinions, for the next match etc. All of this, that the custodianship/ownership and governance of our beloved club was in good, caring hands and we, as fans, had nothing else to worry about. WE are sick to the back teeth of all this 'other shit', won't be bought off (read into that what you will) and just want the absolute best for BRFC and every single one of its' stakeholders. WE are genuine folk, Riversiders and nobody saw us coming! WE ARE The Rovers!!!

I was tired and have ‘other pots to wash’, sorry for being abrupt. Look on the planning proposals lodged with RVBC and see the names of the architects and project planners involved, then navigate Companies House. Then tie in ‘connected’ company formations and various Director resignations and the dates. Then join the dots!.....
-
Fair enough, I wasn't aware of that but I am now. It answers one quandary I had sadly: Companies House website is dead easy to navigate, either by name or company. Type in either and it gives you either a list of Directors or appointments of the persons name. In amongst each company, if you click on a Director it lists their other appointments and so you can build a web. Why are there so many people without scruples, why so many hypocrites and why so few without any bollocks or intelligence?! WE ARE The Rovers!!

'Nuff fecking said?! Waken up some people and smell the bloody coffee!!

The statisticians and drone flyers have other roles depicted within their job specifications, do I really need to spell it out any further where some influence on social media comes from?!

The re-invigoration of BRFC

Aye Matty agreed, just like we were in the seventies and eighties when regularly when we had home gates of 8,000, or less on occasions, more often than not we’d have 4 to 5,000 away at Saltergate, Millmoor, Vale Park, The Racecourse Ground etc... Yeh, we’re entitled and spoiled (not). Let’s aim to get that type of spirit and togetherness back. Age and time changes things admittedly but those times, when we as a club, literally didn’t have a pot to piss in, are some of my best memories as a Rover. Then along came Jack...I still pinch myself at the memory of seeing King Kenny at that match v Plymouth, at staring up at the Darwen End scoreboard at our first home game (I think) in the PL in ‘92 and seeing Rovers v Arsenal, at Anfield in ‘95 and Bistro French in Preston afterwards. There’s no way on earth that any self respecting fan of BRFC should even be prepared to consider a slightest thought that it would be ok to dismantle any part of what Jack Walker provided for our club. It’s where Kenny Dalglish started: clearing dog shit off the fields at Pleasington before training started, let’s not go back there! WE ARE The Rovers!!! -

Thank you and I hope you have banned those guilty of making personal and extremely derogatory comments against Revidge Blue for example. I will watch with great interest!.... -
