  1. New season, time to bring back this fun old thread.. So far this season: Everton 22 015 Chelsea 19 398 Man City 18 403 Average 19 939 The same fixtures last season: Everton 22 064 Chelsea 20 243 Man City 25 731 Average 22 679 I know it's still early days. Our average last season was 21 015, so the three games listet bought more people to Ewood than average. I won't be suprised if we end up with an average attendence of less than 19 000 this season. I know the City game was our last game last season, finishing off a very good season, so you can't really read too much into this. Having said that, it aint looking good.
  2. ROVERS: Friedel, Emerton, Ooijer, Khizanishvili, Neill ©, Bentley, Tugay, Savage, Gamst, Jeffers, McCarthy. Sub: Nonda, Mokoena, Gallagher, Brown, Peter Our current strikeforce better than last season, think not. Jeffers is playing too much imo..
  3. No wonder we let in two goals with our centre half using the old greek stand-up-sleeping technique instead of defending:
  4. According to Rovers World Ooijer was much improved today. A bloody shame Nelsen is out for a while.
  5. 2-2 isn't too bad, it sounds like it could have ended worse in the end.
  6. Its Salzburg corner, corner, corner and bloody corner!
  7. We are under pressure now. Off the post again by Salzburg...
  8. Is this Souness talking?! What a load of crap. We seriously need to raise the profile of the club, and there is no better way of doing that than success in Europe.
  9. If we loose this one we might well hear the old phrase "it's time to stand up and be counted". This is a very important game for us, and nothing but a win will do. City have a very average squad, and these are the kind of teams we should get win against, at least at Ewood Park. Rovers 2 ManC 1
  10. Call them what you like, they are squadplayers at best. Why do you include Roberts and McCarthy? They where bought in to be apart of the starting XI. Another point, did we really need to replace players who didn't play at all (amoruso, johnson, gresko)?!
  11. Jeffers, Nonda, Henchoz..... The fact is that we can't afford signing quality players, therefore we need to take a hughe gamble on almost all the players we do sign. The statement by Hughes and Williams is laughable when you sum up our transfer activity this summer.
  12. So we needed a supermans performance by Friedel to save a point against Sheffield United
  13. So we sign Henchoz, hm, strangely I dont give a damn. I don't expect anything from him, he won't play much, and he will leave at the end of the season. In other words, just the same as Jeffers.
  14. Finally a vitory for Rovers! Sheff Utd - 1 Rovers - 3 I've gotten every result (lost, drew, lost) right so far, so expect another "spot on" prediction by the wizard from up North.
  15. So we keep on signing old defenders, while we really lack quality elsewere. We might play with 5 in defense soon..
  16. People like Thatcher should be sent to prison in my opinion. If he had done anything like that on the street he would have been in serious trouble.
  17. IN: McCarthy Robberts Jeffers Nonda (loan) Ooijer Brown OUT: Bellamy Douglas Kuqi Dickov Basically we have just sold and bought a good couple of strikers, while adding Ooijer in defense. Obviously Bellamy was a player of much higher quality than McCarthy and Robberts, so to be honest I don't really know if we have strengthen our starting XI. I think we may have some money left now that Kuqi also has gone, and credit to Hughes for not splashing them on players he ain't sure of. Perhaps we'll get lucky in Januray and spend some of that money we all like to think we have...
  18. The video should be in black and white, because those goals where a long time ago. Did you see the injury btw, damn! I'm amazed that he's still walking today, never mind playing football.
