  1. And you know he didn't complain post Training of a niggle or minor injury ?
  2. Johnson is needed for his height in what is a relatively small team - hence I would have him rather than Davenport.
  3. Nyambe picks up a lot of niggles - be very surprised if he isn't being rested rather than dropped.
  4. I am not certain he "has it" - but there was enough glimpses to at least give some hope that TM hasn't wasted £6m. Though a slightly bigger unit - he reminds me a little of Kevin Davies when he first came to Rovers. If BB can keep that dribbling ability (he does run well with the ball for a big man) - but instill the hold up play that made Davies such an effective player after he left Rovers - he will be successful. Unlike Davies - I hope TM can improve BB hold up play - so we see the benefits.
  5. I think he showed more than glimpses post lockdown. Taking aside his rash challenge that got him sent off - he was one of the bright spots. Wouldn't say he looked like a £6m player - but he finally showed why TM was persuaded to spend so much money. Lets hope he continues to improve - the clubs hopes for next season rest with either him or Gallagher starting to justify their huge fees.
  6. Don't know much about him - but yet another big striker - as long as we don't play him on the wing like Gallagher and Brereton
  7. If I was a Preston fan I would look at that - and think possibly with a Tosin type load - could we have made the top 6. For me it is all about the quality of player you bring in - TM has had some successes mixed in with his Walton's (a bit harsh on Walton - but he doesn't look like a top 6 goal keeper).
  8. Rev - based on current COVID position - what would your suggestion be for a ST offer ? I am genuinely interested - because I really struggle to think how they could structure it with everything so up in the air. The only thing I can think is one structured similar to the end of the season - i.e. ground closed to fans you get an iFollow pass for that match. Ground open - you are free to attend - but probably with social distancing (though they could be imaginative with family/friend bubbles - but that would take a bit of IT planning.). That would probably take some planning with both the FL and iFollow (they may even be looking into alternatives to iFollow) Obviously that wouldn't suit those fans that can't (for whatever reason) get access to iFollow. For existing ST holders in that position - you could offer a season ticket for 10 matches - if we had more than 10 matches with fans in attendance - they would get priority for their own seat and at a reduced price. With regard budget - did Rovers not ask about a temporary half to fair play rules - maybe they are waiting on this ? I would imagine (with our current loss in revenue) we will surely break FFP rules this season without some form of player sale or relaxation of the rules.. With regard refunds - though everyone's financial circumstances are different - even before the iFollow offer, getting a refund never really crossed my mind. I suppose it depends on perspective - I see my ST paying for ground staff etc - not in anyway lining the pockets of our owners etc.
  9. Totally agree - after his match against Bristol I expected a dip to his more usual form - but though not as involved, thought he had a reasonable match against Wigan. He desperately needs to score to keep his new found confidence going - and to be honest his performances have deserved it. My only concern is that he tends to drift deep at times (when he should be running into the box) - and doesn't seem to have that natural eye for goal like Dack. Fingers crossed for tonight - with so many matches in such a short space of time - this is a match we really need to win to keep the last few matches of the season interesting.
  10. BTW - apart from not being able to go - was great to have some friends round (with appropriate social distancing enforced) to enjoy football - wow didn't realise how much I had missed it.
  11. One of the few games where I could actually see why we gambled £7m on him - lets hope it continues.
  12. Given their league position I originally thought this a winnable fixture. However - when you look at their home form this is an excellent win. Not getting giddy yet - result against Brentford and I might. At the moment it would appear a certain amount of luck is on our side - with injuries forcing a change in style of play that is paying off at the moment.
  13. Think you could be right - seemed to be the formation we finished with midweek
  14. Though only a cameo - best we have seen from Brereton. He had amazing support from BE - but did wonder how much of that was ironic ?. Good noise at times (esp second half) considering weather and turn out. Hull were average at best - but thought we put in a good performance. Though Armstrong got MOM - have to say Travis not far behind - and is getting better with each match.
  15. If he isn't going to sign players that will immediately challenge for the first team - I wouldn't bother. Would much prefer to see some youngsters given the opportunity.
  16. Just a shame they caused the mess in the first place. But credit where it is due - I thought they would have pulled the plug years ago.
  17. Anyone else think our lack of money is down to the Dack injury ? Selling him was our best chance of not coming foul of FFP - we are now in a financial hole with our only sellable asset being Lenihan.
  18. We did well to beat 12 men. They looked a decent team - with the referee one of their better players
  19. Wow - what an outburst. During TM's time as manager - they bank rolled the biggest League 1 budget - and given him £12m to spend on two strikers - as well as continuing to pay the wages. They are responsible for our demise - however we only need to look to Bolton to see where we could easily be.
  20. Type of performance that gets managers sacked. The win didn't cover up the inadequacies in the team - so many poor insipid performances - it was like half the team didn't turn up. Gallagher out wide - could see why at first - but when they got used to the long diagonal why persist ☹ - put the poor lad central. Special mention for Armstrong who was awful - how can somebody be caught off side so many times ? Final mention for TM - very grateful for everything he has done for the club - but this team is massively under achieving - and the buck has to stop somewhere.
  21. Next two games will show our credentials - need 4 points really. If we got 4 points - knowing Rovers we would draw with Luton and then beat Forest. Worryingly think we are capable of 6 points - but this is Rovers - hence why would be very happy with 4 points
  22. Slight knock/injury ? (don't know - but would be a possible reason)
  23. I thought he had played reasonably well over last few matches ?
  24. I understand where you are coming from - but (if is as good as people say) you sometimes have to just take opportunities as they present themselves. Though I think TM has had excellent backing from the owners - it is still obvious that we can't cherry pick players as we did in Kennys golden era. In terms of planning - he wants to play a better passing game. He has tried Buckley to help that - presumably Holtby is seen as the playmaker we have been missing for a long time.
