I'd replace Brydon Carse for the final test. Bar a couple of sessions in Perth and a bowlers wet dream at the MCG, our bowling attack has been nothing short of horrific. Carse probably the worst culprit, cannot consistently get the right line or length needed for the track he's playing on. Tongue has shown them all where to pitch it since coming into the side. If he's already over there, I'd bring Matthew Potts in.

I really hope we would be looking for someone better than Ambrose, although I know absolutely nothing about him granted. Just looking at his career, he has scored frequently this season, because they're in the second tier in Belgium which is littered with U23 teams. Throughout his career he's struggled at the top tier seemingly, both at Metz and Lens, with a small improvement at Oostende. Doing a very lazy comparison. We bought Gueye from a relegated Belgian top tier team, in hindsight, knowing what we know, I wouldn't be rushing to repeat that signing if the option was there. You're right though, it's the kind of signing we'd make considering we have history with that club and he probably wouldn't need a special visa or whatever it is.

What have you seen from De Neve that makes you feel it's too early to judge?

Regarding fan boycotts and support from the ground, I thought I’d take a longer view and look at average attendances across local clubs over a large period to see how we’ve actually fared compared to teams around us. I’ve looked at every season from 2009 to 2010 onwards and taken the average attendance figures from three different websites for consistency. I’ve done the same for Bolton, Preston and that lot down the road. It's too large to put all seasons for all teams in, but, Comparing the average attendances from those the first and last seasons gives a fairly interesting picture. 2009–2010 Rovers (PL): 25,428 Bolton (PL): 21,881 Burnley (PL): 20,654 Preston (Champ): 12,935 2024–2025 Rovers (Champ): 16,161 (36% decrease) Bolton (League One): 21,325 (2.5% decrease) Burnley (Champ): 19,876 (3.77% decrease) Preston (Champ): 16,505 (27.59% increase)

My last game was one under Eustace (can't remember who) about 2 months before he left. Since then I've held my own personal boycott, I haven't attended a game or purchased any merchandise from the club. Although I can't commit to a ST, I will attend the first game after Venkys sell.

Val's view at the start of September was the squad we have now is better than the one we had last season. Fast forward 3 months and we need cover for injuries (which everyone bar the club knew we'd need) and better quality in most areas (again something most of us saw). Cannot warm to him at all. We've deserved everything coming this test. I've had enough of McCullum and Stokes, this righteous manner, we know best all the time. We can't grind out results and we often can't put games to bed when Infront. This has been a disastrous trip so far and unless there's a mindset change, it will continue.
