  1. Went to see Khruangbin at Piece Hall last Sunday, good gig and a great venue as others have said. first time I've been there for a gig and it's exceptional. Obviously you take your chance weather wise for an outdoor gig, but the fact you could get a beer within 60 seconds of queueing up and there's no snaked lines for the loo.
  2. To be fair, we've finished one place shy of the playoffs twice in three seasons and we've had multiple managers begging for reinforcements to help the quality we already had, get over the line, and it's fallen on deaf ears every time. It's a gamble we're taking and the proof will be in the pudding, I'm nonchalant about it - which probably tells it's own story.
  3. Doesn't appear to be. He played a total of 5 minutes in the opening 2 games of the season and then hasn't been selected for the squad over the past 2 games. I've looked around and can't see anywhere where it says he's injured. He just seems out of favour. Gent do have a new manager this season, so maybe that's part of it.
  4. That can't be correct. Everyone's aligned now remember.
  5. One of the issues with modern day football in my opinion and what's making it cumbersome to watch or enjoy. What is he even saying in that interview? I know we don't see him day in and day out, but would you run through brick walls for him? I'm getting the same way with Slot, he struck me as a bit arrogant last year at times, but he was being fawned over because it was all working. Two games in this season and he sounded like a right dick talking about Newcastle's approach being "not football". We all know the ultra Dutch way gets found out in this country.
  6. Pretty much where my head went when news about Hyams contract offer started bubbling.
  7. Some people stating "we don't know the truth about Trav" and similarly people are talking about the player liaison officer stating "she's out of order for saying that". Essentially on a hiding to nothing because there's no universal way to approach it that would appease every single fan. My view on these matters are always the same. Whether you believe what VI has said or what Trav has stated at times (e.g. the lack of a contract offer). Both will have their own agenda for their own reasons, the truth is likely somewhere in the middle.
  8. If there's anything to this rumour, then well done to the folk who attended the fans forum. Ultimately, I think we need Venkys to leave to make the necessary strides forward as a team and club. However, any pressure that releases the purse strings can only be a positive. Regardless of my personal opinions on anyone involved in running the place.
  9. Would he be eligible to sign outside of requiring an ESC slot?
  10. It does appear as though they want a clean slate, anyone who came through the previous regime or questions the current one, is out on their arse.
  11. I agree, I think we need a striker as is. I don't envisage we'll pick one up without an outgoing first (as has been the case all summer). If Harry goes too and we don't add to the central position, then it's panic stations .
  12. If Harry goes out on loan, we need a minimum of 2 attackers imo (RW and Striker) . So just saying "another" worries me.
  13. This is where I lie and I think many others. I believe a blend of Championship experience and unknown quantities from Europe are the way to go. Like you, I worry we've potentially tipped the balance in one direction too much and it will have a negative impact.
  14. Taking it Higgins has left? Don't think he's been in any squad.
  15. The reason we haven't signed any contracts is because after the "press send" fiasco of the previous winter transfer windows, we've decided to revert to older technology that's more reliable. We're currently in the process of identifying an ink supplier for the recently delivered quills.
  16. I Wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
  17. You would only talk about the potential fee, if you thought people would be pissed off about the guaranteed fee. Otherwise (like most other transfers around) you would mention both. Can we please not pretend otherwise.
  18. Posted just as a few were saying it's getting a bit quiet on the incoming transfer front. Hi Privvy 👋
  19. No surprise about Trav, he's been training on his own (entirely away from the club) with a coach of some kind. He posted a short clip on Instagram a couple of days ago training in what looked like a small park somewhere. Surprised it wasn't mentioned more.
  20. Playing devil's advocate, if say, Dolan or someone established in the first team had said that, would you have the same opinion or be congratulating them on making the situation public?
  21. So we've potentially loaned a player to a team and we don't know when he's due to return?
  22. I've always thought the best plan of action is trying to get some kind of traction in the Indian media, although I'm sure it's nigh on impossible. Indian farmers have been struggling and protesting for a number of years, with Venkys a huge proponent of contracting farming. I wonder if the regular person in India is aware they've spunked £200m over 15 years on a failed sporting project in England, all whilst they're scrapping the barrel to survive? It would be horrible to see Joe public in India go against the Venksters.
  23. I've wondered similar at times. I cannot comment on their performances for the U21's, but I get the impression the academy players are all much of a muchness. Excluding the obvious Wharton's and Tyjons, the optics are that you get your opportunity if the manager at the time likes you and you take on board his tactics, if you don't, chance gone.
