He’s probably better than Bell though. Got himself into the Vitesse side last season who are one of the better sides in the Dutch top flight, represented England at youth level. Saying that I think my old sunday league left back had better defensive positioning and awareness than Bell.

With our back four and defensive options as they currently are there’s not a chance in hell we are getting in the playoffs this season.

I said for the whole of last season Bell is not up too it. I don’t give a shit if he has the odd good moment going forward, his defending isn’t even league two standard. He can’t defend and is that something you could ever coach into him? I haven’t got much faith in that. We need proven defenders, a left back and centre half need bringing in before deadline day without question.

Bell Mulgrew and Bennett should not be in the back four of any championship side yet we have all three. I love Mulgrew but it was clear his legs had gone midway through last season. If we don’t sign 2 more defenders before deadline day then we’ll be conceding 2 a game a lot more times this season. We’ve all been saying how our defence needs strengthening and today proved it despite some of us trying too be hopeful about the situation. What a bag of shite today was... I saw a poster on here slagging Hart off which I didn’t get, lad went out on loan too Southend and was a fans favourite there in league one, a league Bell didn’t look up too much in. He also came on against Rangers and impressed, surely he’s better than Bell? Bell is horrendous defensively but okay going forward.
