As with most of these things it's a combination of the two being at fault - Mowbray/Waggott & Venkys. Mowbray is an average football manager, set in his ways and either can't or won't change. He would never get us promoted within the current structure. This is eminently achievable however with the right manager, he simply isn't it. Waggott is clearly a chancer and will do whatever is needed to keep himself in situ and the paychecks rolling in. Venkys just don't give a shit. Mowbray/Waggott will have been popular with them over the last 5 years no doubt as they came to India when beckoned and meant they weren't bothered too much by us and just put in the minimum they needed to to keep us afloat.

Sad thing is this next appointment doesn't even matter, any decent manager will realise what he's dealing with and bugger off pretty quickly so the best we can hope for is a bang average Mowbray type.

I'm not sure how people think Mowbray would be recommending anyone for the job and Venkys listen to him given the fact they've clearly cut off communication with the old goat.

Fucking penalties. I was on to win £1,200 if Dack had slotted his against Bristol. Had him down as the goalscorer in a 1-0 win, came on in the 75th min, we get a pen, he takes it.. saved. Felt sick. And he missed an open goal a few mins later. As you can tell, I'm not over it.

My initial thought was this is Mowbray calling out the owners in public trying to force their hand with a new contract. Having reflected on it though I think firstly even Mowbray knows they either wont be listening, or will listen and ignore him. Secondly I think it's too big a climb down for him to change his mind - a new contract doesn't change the fact the poor chap only sees his son twice a week (!!!) People listing next potential managers must be utterly fucking insane as well. Have you not paid attention for the last 12 years? It'll be someone managed by that wanky agency and they wont be very good. I'll enjoy Mowbray leaving as i'd have enough of him, but it'll be for just that.

Clearly Mowbray was never going to West Brom, more than likely a lazy link as he once worked there and Bruce hasn't had a strong start. Venus tapping up players to join him and Mowbray there next year is frankly, laughable. I think our only hope for him leaving will be him binning it off. And his general demeanour would suggest this genuinely could happen - though I thought he was gone towards the end of the 2 wins in 17 streak last season, based off that assessment. But, this hope that he's leaving is irrelevant really, as in reality as our wretched owners will only go and appoint someone based off the advise of the self serving, snake oil salesman, that are clearly still involved in the club..(unless you hate the guy so much that you don't care who is next through the door, of course) Completely rotten from top to bottom and will be until we're sold.
