  1. Just goes to show how much Tony's round pegs in square holes approach has an effect doesn't it.... I genuinely thought Williams was one of the worst players I'd ever seen play for Rovers when he was left back. Play him where he's meant to be and he looks absolute class. I wonder how many other players it's having this effect on..
  2. This could be our season fucked, Dack in trouble
  3. Tom Eaves and his ponytail are fucking irritating
  4. Williams keeping us in it, superb
  5. Yeah I get it, it's painful. I've written this season off rightly or wrongly, it's helped with my Rovers related anger levels. In my head it'll be DJ leading us next year with a talented young squad that'll make a decent run at the play offs. Mowbray ain't getting us anywhere near them.
  6. I absolutely promise you that Mowbray will not be leaving if we lose on Saturday, do yourself a favour and get that out of your head.
  7. They've lost £m's on us, you really think Madame is going to be paying attention if Ben f8cking Brereton is playing, give your head a wobble.
  8. Who is left in his inner circle?
  9. Wasn't actually addressing you but good to know
  10. This is the only realistic option for me. Hughes not only wouldn't come back I'd worry he'd have the energy to essentially start over again. He came here in 2004 to build his career and quite rightly got the big move in 2008. I seriously doubt he'd want to come back to the club 15 years later with it in a significantly worse position than when he left, plus now with some of the worst owners in football.
  11. I suspect there's something in this. Possibly a cultural thing, losing the amount they are is far more acceptable than losing face.
  12. Should have got them in years ago if that was the case
  13. I wonder if Deloitte gave them a get out plan as part of the piece of work they did for them. Surely at some point they can't keep losing money on us?
  14. Nail, head. Mowbray is the symptom not the cause. The only way I can see Venkys stumbling upon giving us a shot at the play offs is through sheer luck. Say we're bottom at Christmas and they get rid of TM. There won't be the plan, they'll just stumble around looking for a replacement and DJ will have a few games in charge in the meantime. Fingers crossed he's as good as he's shown with the U23's and he gets the job full time. All of a sudden we'd have a much better shot at the play-offs than we currently have, albeit in the 2020/21 season. A lot of 'ifs' there but it's the only way I can see us having a shot at the play offs with Venkys in charge. On that note on Saturday I got talking to the young lad next to me and one of his first statements was "yeah but they're putting a lot of money in" when I castigated Venkys ownership. I had to bite my tongue and give the "yes but they got us in this position" response very calmly as I got the impression I was surrounded by young lads who all felt the same as he did and it could've got a little tense had i responded how I wanted. Blows my mind that people forget why we are where we are it really does.
  15. Not a chance Hughes would come back
  16. I did notice how far Dack dropped back by the end of the game yesterday I have to say.
  17. What's the fucking point. Football is dead.
  18. We've been decent without creating any actual chances. New lad at the back has looked solid as has Williams. Bell looks ropey. Armstrong has run a lot but lacked quality. Bennett has actually been OK. Gallagher looks expensive. Very harsh to be losing, quality goal yet they've done fuck all else. I'd guess this will be 2-0 or 1-1.
  19. Bennett will start, absolutely no doubt. In Tony's head he's had one bad game, possibly not even that. I actually feel like £30 could be top value today, purely to go and vent at Mowbray when we're 1-0 down after 3 mins when Bennett puts Mitrovic through with a blinding defence splitter.
  20. I believe my post was a reaction to "if" he'd thrown his toys, if it wasn't I should have made that clear. I think you're conveniently glossing over the fact that he was in the team that got us relegated to League One mind.
  21. I mean I'm never clapping anyone for jeopardising their international career with Scotland, I think even the Scots would rather pretend that wasn't happening ? On a serious note I absolutely cannot put Mulgrew in the category with players like Tugay, Friedel, Shearer etc I think it's laughable that you have, frankly. He was in the team that took us down to League One ffs. And I'd argue the fickle point as well, Charlie has been shite for months, it wasn't a sudden turn to disliking him on my part. And add that to the fact that he may have thrown his toys/been a disruption in the dressing room then he can absolutely fuck off to Wigan. You don't play like you have for the last six months and act that way if you're a model professional.
  22. This is the kind of attitude that could have got Mowbray in trouble this season for me. I'm sure he thought Mulgrew was an 'honest pro' and 'gave his best' and that's more than likely why he started him on Saturday - look where that got us. The whole point of my "fuck off to Wigan" line was a response to if he's thrown his toys at being told he wasn't good enough on Saturday. He's clearly had it easy the last few years and didn't like having his nose put out of joint if that is the case, and of he's a bad influence on the dressing room then good riddance. It's a massive step for Mowbray to take this stance and I for one applaud it, fingers crossed it'll see Bennett benched on Saturday as well, though I'll believe it when I see it. There's no room for sentiment in football, so thanks for getting us out of League One Charlie (whilst also being part of the side that took us there) I'll reserve my "clapping ex players back at Ewood" for actual heroes.
