100% He's definitely the best manager we’ve had under the Venkys and I hope we don’t lose him for non-football reasons. Results need to improve but I don’t lay much blame with him. Nobody else could succeed at our club with players not being replaced and no investment.

Whether Guardiola could win the league with a smaller club is an interesting question, and ultimately a question we will never have answered as I doubt he’d be interested in taking on a club without massive resources. Is it more impressive to win consistently at the top level or to win when the odds are overwhelmingly against you? Claudio Ranieri or Pep Guardiola? I don’t think Pep has anything to prove by taking on a smaller team. He won the treble in two different leagues and the top league in three different countries. His list of achievements is incredible and will probably lead to him being remembered as City’s greatest ever manager and a legend to Barcelona fans.

I don’t think he has much input into signings and I got a real sense of frustration on his behalf when reading his comments on transfers up until now. It was a brilliant finale to s2. I got straight on to google after it finished and apparently s3 has been filmed with a hopeful release date of September. S4 has been approved as well 😀

Kin is excellent. It only improves for S2 when Bren is released from prison. He’s a brilliant character in the mold of those evil gits you love to hate in Game of Thrones.

So then where do you play Wharton? He’s been the one bright spark of this season. He was excellent today with his work rate, first touch and passing range making him really stand out. He’s top quality in that position as he breaks play up well and gets us chances time and again. I wasn’t 100% sure before but he is a class act and will be a premiership player by next season.

Too many players in that team who are not championship standard. Wahlstedt, Moran, Markanday, Ennis, Leonard, Hill, might all be good one day but they’re not what we need right now. The squad is just not good enough. We’re in an awful run and showing relegation form now but it’s down to missing so many first teamers and having to rely on loans, free transfers and cast offs to bolster our squad. It all comes back to having no resources to replace the players we’ve lost and build a squad to challenge for promotion. Not the fault of JDT or Broughton IMO, the blame lies with Venkys. Sad times.

Feels strange typing this but I can’t wait for Gallagher to get back into the side, and I’d put him down the right wing. Moran and Markanday have offered nothing in all the matches I’ve seen.

What a strange game. We look like the players have only just met each other. Defensively all over the place. Keep giving the ball away. But two great goals, especially the first from Szmodics have me feeling glad that I didn’t turn off in disgust at 2-0 (it was very, very close). Turned out to be an exciting match, a real advert for the championship.

Garrett has been very good. Travis good at LB too surprisingly. Ennis is getting almost in the right places lol just looks like he’s not 100% on the same page as his teammates. Entertaining first half, we’ve been the better team and the score line is about right. Great goal from Wharton who has been excellent. What a good young squad we have. Great when it all comes together like this.

Grim reading for a Rovers fan. Doesn’t seem to feel any attachment to us as we’re not mentioned although he takes the time to mention how much he loved his time at Brentford, Stockport and Arsenal. The only reference I could see to us was when he was snapped up after a trial but we’re “not exactly Barcelona”. Fuck off.

The referee was definitely not fond of the cards but I think this will have been a good lesson for Moran. Have to earn the right to play football at this level.

100% Travis is not a RB. Moran showed some class but was dominated by Potts. Wharton needs dropped for a while but who replaces him? Three players that are not good enough at the minute for a team that wants to be in the top 6. On the positive side I thought Dolan was very impressive, full of energy and drive. Szmodics is a very good player. Brittain was one of our top performers too. Tronstad also impressed me at the start but I didn’t see much from him as the game went on. We hit the bar twice and I thought the final ball in for their goal was offside. So we aren’t far away but as you said it is our lack of squad depth that is holding us back, we are missing that extra 10% that would push us to the next level. It’s a bit worrying that we’re suffering from lack of bodies at this stage of the season though, we’re going to really struggle in the new year as more players get tired and injured.

I’m not going to spend days arguing back and forth with you mate. All I was saying was that people can be overly harsh in their criticism of new players. You disagreed and asked for evidence, I provided it. I’ve already stated that I can’t comment on his performance as I couldn’t watch the game. Anyway, good 3 points today and hopefully telalovic kicks on and we can all get behind him 👍

I don’t know why you are picking this hill to die on but as others have pointed out there is no doubt that people using this site can have a harsh judgement on players. And that is hardly a controversial statement to anyone other than yourself. The post above was made 10 minutes in to the match, that’s what I meant when I said that people were writing him off after 10 minutes of his debut. Tbh it’s a pretty mental thing to do, especially when criticising someone who doesn’t speak the language, has never played at this level, has only been at the club for a couple of weeks, and has less than 45 minutes to impress. I honestly don’t know why you are arguing this point but I hope this is the end of it!

In here today, Telalovic was written off after ten minutes of his debut 🤷 I didn’t see the match so can’t comment on how he played but that for me is the definition of rash negativity.

Not sure where else to put this but I found it a very interesting read. He comes across as a thoroughly decent and humble bloke and seems genuinely touched by the regard we rightly hold him in.
