  1. He’s always their best player every time I see them play. Probably pricey and unrealistic though, but plays on the left and would be a good replacement for BBD in my view.
  2. Maybe they're waiting to announce Haikin until they've got at least one more signed.
  3. Hyam, Barnes and Carter injured atm though?
  4. Pears and Haikin have the same body type. Quite slim and agile, and neither very commanding. Couldn't say that one was better than the other, but think Pears has too many errors in him to make it.
  5. Looks like Gelhardt and Undav are both expensive options, but have a feeling Undav is on lower wages. Could be a case of moving a bit of money from one club to the other by Bloom who owns them both. Not getting my hopes up on either tbh.
  6. JDT's style is to play out from the back, so we need better ball playing defenders.
  7. Carter is too reckless but has a lot of raw attributes. Might become a player down the line.
  8. Didn't realise/remember he came her so 'late'.
  9. Duff? Or would you not rate him as a forward perhaps?
  10. He was a bit 'stiff' and awkard but knew where the goal stood.
  11. James Beattie, who we practically gave away, but 'for 25 years' is still a valid point.
  12. I agree it was a was buying a striker only to stick him on the wing. Gallagher works so hard for the team that when he gets a chance he's huffing and puffing and is less clinical as a result. Problem being he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo to begin with.
  13. Is Jens Petter Hauge an option? Besides the obvious Bodø/Glimt link, he has fallen from grace after a promising start to his AC Milan career and is now set to be recalled from an unsuccessful loan from his current club Eintracht Frankfurt to Belgian club Gent. He's a quick winger, good one vs one, but if his confidence is shot then he might not be Championship level at the moment. Still only 23 though, and probably not the most expensive loan deal out there. Read about his situation here: https://www.vg.no/sport/fotball/i/69Ppgz/silly-season-siste-nytt-om-overganger-i-januar-2023
  14. Vale is league one at best.
  15. One of those matches that infuriates fans, eh? Crazy scoreline, they scored from pretty much everything from the get-go. Four goals from three chances? We tried in the first half but gave up way too soon in the second half. I also believe that with JRC and Ayala in the backline we cannot and should not play from the back. I think had we been more direct yesterday then we would have done better. I'd prefer us to be more forward-searching in our passes in general, most of us probably do. Oh, and Markanday deserves a start.
  16. I would bite their hands off for £10m for BBD if I knew it would be reinvested into the squad. If BBD stays until the summer I would play him and Dack each and every game, and try and bring in another intelligent forward and that trio should create a few goals.
  17. Puzzled by that signing.
  18. I'd go back to Coventry and try and tempt them to part ways with Hamer.
  19. Vetlesen's contract expires end of the year so I think a little less could possibly get him, and that's why Rovers are (allegedly) interested. But just can't see it happening, unless he's set his sights on England.
  20. Not sure we'll see any of the money. Merely speculating that Vetlesen could be lined up as an in case BBD leaves. I wrote 'secret' because we never know when and if we spend a larger sum on one player. Ahmedodzic was around £4m, wasn't he?
  21. We could and should strengthen, but I think top two is never going to happen, and by the looks of things we won't find the stability to go through via the play-offs this season - but you never know unless you manage to get there. Like last season, it's a play-off spot is there for the taking.
  22. So based on that you went on to write this: "For those getting their hopes up about Hugo Vetlesen, forget it. He's being linked with clubs like Benfica, and even then, he's well out of our price range." I agree with you that he's probably out of our price range but: 1) If BBD leaves we'll have enough funds to cover the fee 2) According to @glen9mullanthere's a 'secret' war chest for marquee signings, like Jordan Rhodes or BBD. I think Evjen would be more realistic and more likely a bigger gamble, but also someone who could come here and re-ignite his career and really become a player for us for a couple of seasons.
