  1. He must have one hell of an agent and PR team. The stupidity of club owners never ceases to amaze. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Shit sticks and in Rovers case it was for 5 years.
  2. I doubt anyone could pull off that scam twice in a single lifetime.
  3. I am still dizzy from that Sussex camera workings. Watched quite a bit of it so went the full route from 'oh xxxx' to knowing we were coasting. The commentators were excellent.
  4. I hope they try for Waggott first. I wonder if the property developer is going too.
  5. I watched a few Pompey games on dodgytvdotcom last season and he looked quite decent. It might have just been the shock of seeing a striker more than 5' something though.
  6. I really thought you were joking with that quote. No mention though that after 5 years he left us with a demolished house of cards. The man is a tool.
  7. I would not wish him on anybody, not even Burnley.
  8. Usual manager speak but in a nice voice that I can at least understand unlike that gurning North Easterner.
  9. 3 more windows over 2 seasons to build his squad is a short trip compared to Mowbrays 5 year journey which only succeeded in a monumental final season collapse and squad destruction and leaving us where he found us. Mind you I am myself now triggered by the words journey and project, to a lesser extent.
  10. Good honest response from JDT which I can buy into.
  11. I really would like him to go to Everton, to Frank Lampard's Everton, that would be watchable soap opera TV.
  12. Szmodics got blind sided by a thuggish and quite deliberate shoulder punch by the Stoke pleb. Quite an impact, like not knowing that Fury is going to punch you out until it happens. I am not surprised he's convalescing.
  13. He could always just sit on his fat contract until it runs out, playing or not. He has experience in managing such.
  14. Or Dyche. They won't though as they like to be pretty southern softies.
  15. As a kid I went alone to Blackpool to watch Rovers reserves in a night game. Came back on a Ribble bus that ran into high winds and I thought we were going to topple over. I sat upstairs to get more of the sway effect, the folly of youth. The only time I went on an organised run was to Bolton. I think I got on the bus near the shoe warehouse, Tommy Balls I think, but that might be just a rusty memory. We won 0-1, pretty sure Duggie scored. In those days I used to go to all the local games I could when at Grans on hols. Good days, apart from being mugged on Preston New Rd and a near encounter with what I would now classify as a pedo in Preston.
  16. When all they really had to do was keep us in the PL where they found us and the big bucks would have been delivered to them in suitcases. In any business the more complex the rules the more loopholes exist. You have to pay for the skilled accountants and lawyers to do the magic. There are always ways. It's easier and much much cheaper to leave it to the likes of Waggott and Cheston(?) to feck up.
  17. I was there for a 4-2 thumping in 1964*. They regularly put a few past us back then. I don't recall much of the game but recall a dump of an away end and a poor pitch view. We didn't play them from Feb 1980 until Sept 2010, no seaside for 30 years! Since 2010 our record is quite good, 6 trips, 3 wins,2 defeats and just 1 draw. *I was a 12 year-old on hols in Blackburn at Grans and had got myself to and from the match in Blackpool by public bus, alone. Madness!
  18. Yes, quite impressive dealing. Onwards we go.
  19. Gregg Broughton: “Our initial approach to Coventry City in July was met with a clear message that he was not for sale, however when it became apparent this week that their stance had changed, we had no hesitation in making Dom our third permanent signing of this window."
  20. Totally agree with the above. It's about what should have happened.
  21. When I typed that I knew I might be infringing PC and woke culture. My internet is slow today so had no chance to correct it. I feel suitably ashamed, honestly.
  22. Leicester have cash flow issues due to their owners underlying business suffering so maybe Hirst is available at knockdown. His goals record at Pompey and at youth international level is quite good suggesting that he can take the chances IF they are being created. He fits the uncut gemstone model. AND he's not a midget.
  23. The Ref blew the whistle immediately those fouls happened, the defenders stopped playing, both scored against no challenges in an open goal 3 seconds is a long time in football and play to the whistle which our lot also heard.
  24. Expected goals! Bollocks. Wake me up when the ball is in the back of the net.
