  1. TBH I could not understand why the pitch had been watered so much. It's basically under self repair at present, apart from surface care, after an awful season and was cutting up divots as well as being slippery. Rothwell was indeed lucky not to do serious damage.
  2. I wasn't one of them. Bamford has always had the technical skills for PL football and has improved on work-rate and basically giving back what he gets, physically. SG looks a different player, even winning his aerial challenges out wide. BB is improving, I've praised his work rate for a while. I concur on Armstrong, he would struggle at PL level in any team that does not create a lot of chances.
  3. To put the arse end of a football season into perspective the Dingles have scored 4 away without conceding.
  4. I really like Harvey as a player and agree with your summation. Elsewhere I've seen suggestions that BB receives the ball much better than Harvey which is a nonsense. BB has improved a bit in this department but with Harvey it sticks like glue. BB will never play PL, Harvey may. Yes, H-B has that extra about him.
  5. The win gave me no enjoyment, during play, straight after or even after a decent sleep. It only helps the Mowbray con-trick.
  6. He may get a Southgate cap but will have to find real pace from somewhere to be nailed on for England or indeed Liverpool
  7. I've just tried to compose half a dozen posts about this fixture but rejected the lot. Basically not that interested but I'll be watching it out of habit.
  8. Another nonsense stat/table which includes 22 million loan values and a value on Ayala (an example of a few) dreamt up by a substance abuser.
  9. I agree totally with you re show games, all televised to billions and proceeds direct to the greedy clubs. Maybe my wording could have been better. It all about the money for the few. The American model.
  10. Don't know about China but here it's about 10 quid a month to legally access every PL game, all of them, in HD. So if say just watching one teams 38 games in a season cost per game is just a bit over 3 quid. But all 380 games per season are available. You could watch them all, plenty of replays shown, at a cost of about 30 pence a game! I suspect China may be a bit cheaper, but there's a lot more potential viewers. Remember though its not only the Straits of Malacca that have Pirates.
  11. Show matches would be a feature but it's the billions of potential TV viewers in Asia and elsewhere that they are after. Once established would it matter where the Clubs are based Of course a Franchise deal would allow it to be moved to a Country or City that offered more cash. China already buys other Countries - Beijing MU anyone? Maybe New York Chelsea.
  12. I see that RM, Barcelona and Juve are still at the forefront of pushing for the ESL concept and unapologetic. They have severe financial problems and want the riches that they believe the coup will bring. Basically an uncompetitive closed shop and to feck with the rest of football across the globe, not just in Europe. The American system lends itself to this level of self interest and greed so onboard come ManUre, Liverpool and Arsenal. This coup would have and may still yet destroy the fabric of Football at all levels. I have just watched Tim Sherwood on Sky saying its over, forgive everyone including the owners and move on without any punitive action at all. Tosser. I don't want to see fans or indeed players punished so it's down to (new) regulators and Governement action. Also time for UEFA and FIFA to show some balls and for them not to allow themselves to be bullied by a few loudmouthed owners, mainly at the moment Spanish. An excuse for the coup has been a desire to break into a new audience of people aged 24 or younger who currently don't watch football. Melissa on Sky debunked that fantasy in seconds. European football is already televised worldwide and I can access just about every league and game if so inclined. This is all about money, greed and the control of TV rights and nothing to do with football development. Give it a few months and the pariahs will be back.
  13. I see Warnock has just binned a couple, told they are out even before the season ends so he can give youth a go. Total Mess is on the phone ......
  14. The guy changes with how the wind is blowing. Hes all over SM so knows there's a Wind of Change coming so like Sharpe wants to be seen to be ahead of the curve. Problem is that as the Vs like to feck our grey matter the WoC is likely to be a contract extension for Total Mess.
  15. ''It wasn't until a baby fox emerged on the bridge connecting Hillsborough to Parkside Road over the River Don that I suddenly recaptured some sense of feeling, the adorable facial features a welcomed distraction before it scampered off into the darkness of the night.'' And they grow up to be Chicken Chokers so not all bad
  16. A week ago I went for 21st. at season end. I now think 20th as Derby are awful. Coventry currently above us on points! The club Total Mess ran out on.
  17. The actual Journey has never been explained. My go is from the scrapheap to a very comfortable retirement and don't look at any tables or chairs on the way. Anyway the current Journey is just about to hit a solid brick wall, ironically called a window. I hope there is at least one casualty in this crash.
  18. That article in the Sheffield paper was a huge ringing endorsement of Mowbray. I read it and recall being somewhat irritated. Hmmmmm Crook is a weather cock.
  19. Some quite lame excuses there for being caught with their pants around the knee and willy waving. The new structure for the CL, its seeding arrangements etc etc ensures that these greedy bastards will get the lions share of revenue going forward but in an environment which will retain some 'competitive' elements.
  20. I was impressed by Oliver Dowden's speech and hope he presses on, without any delay, with the review. Earlier this morning I saw a video on Real Madrid, their structure and their need to raise money through limited channels, mainly by sales & marketing. It kind of made me understand their rationale in fronting the ESL. However even their fan ownership structure is failed, owned by 90,000 Socios who have a vote for President and a few perks, that's the extent of their influence. The structure also dictates that anyone who stands for President or Board must be super-rich. Link attached in case of interest and you've not already viewed it.
  21. Interesting: Edit: I have to say I was somewhat impressed by Pace although not sure how his 'pitchfork' comment will go down with the local yokel sheep shaggers. And some still think that no one would buy the Legend that is Blackburn Rovers.
