  1. For a horrible moment I thought this was a 'Souness Out' thread. Now having read a few recent posts I haven't a clue what you are on about. Summer madness perhaps.
  2. After reading all the press and web crap about all the Russian money at Chelsea I have decided that the ''if you can't beat em join em'' principle should apply so from now on I'm AKA Pissedoffski.
  3. Flitcroft has been a very good Rovers Captain and deserves our respect and thanks. Let's hope Ferguson can do even better and lead us into some glory days.
  4. Rovers is like loving the wife England is like loving the Monther in Law MA Hons - Uol SoHD
  5. My heart says England so I'm sticking with that. Owen to score, Beckham to turn up - and we don't concede from a cross! Plus we have Rooney.
  6. Having just read the posts on this topic I see the usual miseries are still vocal. Expletively boring. Good signing by Rovers - well done to all invloved.
  7. James didn't make a move at all - just stood still - Zidane knocks it in the corner (he could have picked either) and suddenly its a great fantastic goal by the world beater Zidane. I'd rather James have a go - even if he had gone to his left! He made a good freekick look great. Not seen many comments on the England build up to the French 2nd goal - starting with an aimless punt upfield by James - and the rest is history. I was going to say like a bunch of schoolboys but that would be unfair to the schoolboys.
  8. Todd refused to work! Simple as that. If I did the same then I would expect to be sacked. I thought Todd had come on a long way this season and was unlucky to lose his place - but recent results would tend to refute that view. No great loss. Souness is King!
  9. If he'd had the sense just to call him FRENCH (instead of the N word) then Big Ron would still be up for his £1m. OK about 50 million Frenchies complain but nobody else would care! We live in strange and sad times.
  10. With the possible Rivaldo signing Big Sam is putting together a talented geriatric squad capable of being a top draw for end of season Testimonial games - but in the premiership ..........?
  11. The statements which various high profile managers and players come out with are amazing. Do they think that we watch don't watch TV and see either the game or major incident replays. recent examples: Houlliers comments on the Brum game. The (new) liitle Frenchman is a 100% diver - just like Diouf. Houllier denies. Houlliers comments on tough Brum tackling (ok in response to Bruce) - ignoring his own teams contributions via the likes of Gerrard. At ManUre RFW and Rude saying it was not a penalty via Chelsea. RFW saying it was given because the ref was not a top ref and that Cole was going away from the goal and anyway Keane touched the ball - are Man Ure making a new rule ? Rude saying the same crap. I saw the incident - clear penalty. Like many I am getting past fed up with such comments treating us like imbeciles. Aren't we lucky having a gentle soul as manager.
  12. Congratulations England on the win and to both teams for a compelling game played to the limit. The drop by Wilkinson was always in the script. A great day to be English. How nice it is to say that!
  13. Part of me wants a thrilling open game with lots of tries and England to win say 50 to 45. The other part wants Wilkinson to get a drop kick goal in the last minute to win it by the only score. I think I want to hear all the winging from a bunch of sorry Aussies who've been giving it large here all week.
  14. Yeah! Perhaps I'd better read before posting. Made me laugh more than the joke. Comeon England!
  15. Got this by email from an Oz mate. I'm English but saw the funny side.......... "It’s Saturday and a guy walks into a bar with a dachshund under his arm. The dog is wearing an England rugby jersey and is festooned with England pom-poms. The bartender says, "Hey! No pets are allowed! You'll have to leave." The guy begs him, "Look, I'm desperate! We're both big fans, the TV's broken at home, and this is the only place around where we can see the game." After securing a promise that the dog will behave, and warning him that he and the dog will be thrown out if there's any trouble, the bartender relents and allows them to stay in the bar and watch the game. The big game begins with the Poms receiving the kickoff. England march down field, get stopped at the 22, and kick a penalty goal. Suddenly, the dog jumps up on the bar and begins walking up and down the bar giving high-fives to everyone. The bartender says, "Wow, that is the most amazing thing I've seen! What does the dog do if they score a try?" The owner replies, "I don't know, I've only had him for three years."
  16. On this - and other threads - I feel that there is a danger of losing ones perspective. We already have a manager who has proven his football managerial ability at Rovers and elsewhere. We are indeed fortunate to have such a manager and especially one who can also produce the credentials of having played the game at the highest levels. Many other teams would love to have him - are they wrong??? When times are tough - as indeed they are now - who in their right mind would sack a person qualified to sort the problems out. The replacements I've seen suggested so far are of ex-managers looking for a job (after being fired elsewhere) or of managers inexperienced at the EPL level of the game. The last thing Rovers need at this point is such a manager. The evolution and building of a football team takes time - always true when previously important parts of the 'machine' have been lost. New players DO take time to settle and established players are often affected by this process. A anager also needs time to get the best out of his new players and systems. Did we really believe that we would be top 4 by this point of the season. OK we hoped to be better placed than we currently are but its still early days. Blind panic now will only lead to ultimate disaster. Whilst the current squad has not yet lived up to its pre-season billing the fact is that it's the squad we've got and my confidence in the abilty of Souness to get the best out of it is not shaken. I believe he will and soon. When things are bad its no use at all in 'families' fighting amonst themselves and a quicker way out of the mire is to all work and pull together. We all (apart from the Burnley tossers who sneak into this board) are Rovers through and through and will support whatever - lets get behind the team and get as many down to Ewood as possible v Everton and show the team that we - the fans - are right there with them. Just think if you can persuade one other person to go with you - even if you have to pay the beer afterwards - how good the gate will be. For my part I'm an expat so all I can do is make sure I'm up at 3am to cheer (yes and shout) at the TV but I've emailed that notice on the opening page to a mate who lives in Wigan and hes just sent back to say that he'll go and take his 75 year old Dad who followed Rovers years ago before moving and losing touch. (Before cars? I dont know). A couple of wins at it will all be best mates and what the f**k can we moan about now. By the way we are going to beat Everton - I gave my girlfiend some money to go off to a Temple and get a badluck curse put on Everton to lose - I downloaded this years Everton squad photo and it was all the monk needed. Believe it or not but just wait and see.
  17. I'm in favour of binning this thread and paying attention to a more important issue - the game v Everton! Also Souness stays and as I am not a bigot anyone who says otherwise can get s*****d.
  18. Is your sister away at Grandmas??
  19. In no way am I supporting the antics (i.e. S*** stirring) of Rover6 but the team/formation against Sothampton was negative. Souness said the 0-0 would have been a good result - and thats what he set Rovers up to do. Having said that I for one would also have been happy with a 0-0 away.
  20. So this is how to up the numbers of posts. Hmm.
