  1. I do fear that your house is very safe ☺️
  2. Yes it looks a decent day from about 9 am UK time and getting sunnier as the day goes on with a very low expectation of any rain
  3. I sort of still judge Best on his natural ability, same with the others I've mentioned in this thread. You can only judge players in the context of the eras they played. If George Best was playing today (and off the booze) he would be rated alongside Messi and Ronaldo. In past eras alongside Pele and Maradona. Bryan Douglas would fetch 100 million today, Finney probably more. The cream always rises and they were that good.
  4. So it was Travis who stood still and let the Charlton player amble past. I was blaming Downing for not tracking the scorer on the first goal. Bennett is culpable. He gave the ball away with a shoddy pass and then ran after the ball like a school kid, no offence meant to any school kids reading this, and did not 'chase down' anyone, he never got near. Lenihan was too busy fouling to get in a meaningful attempt to head clear. Complete shambles.
  5. Ali is in awful form at the moment with bat and ball. His batting seems to have been rank bad for ages.
  6. Only on 4 occasions has a team batting 4th scored more than 398 to win a Test match, England never has although the Aussies did it once at Leeds. We still need 385 to win in 90 overs so the rate is over 4 per over at the start of play tomorrow. Miracles can happen and, theoretically, we do have the batsmen in the team to create some history. I will however be pleased with a draw.
  7. Going to be a good Test day tomorrow and nice to get into the 5th day that should be quite long. I just wonder if Roy can get established will he then decide to go for it and he certainly has that capability to score. The worry is losing an early wicket or 2 and what probably will follow.
  8. I watched on a stream. There seemed to be something going on with Maxwell and part of the crowd. The commentators said it was odd as that part of the ground was looking quite empty so maybe just a few pissed anti Lancs & Oz Notts fans. Game was well worth the late night.
  9. Downing is getting off lightly for his involvement or rather lack of effort in the first Charlton goal. It's in the extended highlights on iFollow as proof. Purrington is left alone to amble in to score. Lenihan comes out of it badly too. As for Bennett well enough said. Edit: Was posting whilst you did @roversfan99 , together we have that abomination of a goal covered
  10. I stopped reading at that point. As you say the classic opener to justify whatever drivel follows.
  11. If that happens Tosin will be back to City and loaned to someone else in January.
  12. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49135727 Did he really say this? "Our Achilles heel from last year was there again I suppose. They didn't have to work too hard, particularly the second goal. We sit here with a defeat because of our inability to defend a corner. At 1-1, there was only going to be one winner." So even before a corner is taken he, Mowbray, knows that we are likely to concede and he's done feck all about it. I wish I could stop reading this madman's drivel but it's strangely compelling to see what fantasy he comes out with next.
  13. The back 4 of today are all players who Mowbray praised for their defensive capabilities during the past week and why we were considered by Mowbray to be defensively ok. Now they as a collective are not.
  14. His signings sort of support that revelation
  15. He must be the easiest Football manager to interview and put a piece together for the LT. Ask no questions, stick a mike in from of him and let him run his mouth, Mowbray is a known expert in the 'blame' game and a prime example was 'Chickens coming home to roost' and that's from his Coventry days when his mistakes in the market and his mistakes in team selection/tactics led to him running before sacking. At Ewood however, he, Mowbray, runs the Show.
  16. "We knew what the budget was but we didn't get our targets". it really is the same old song
  17. I watched the US win the Womens WC too
  18. We had just 2 shots on target all game
  19. In all the in-depth post match analysis that takes place at Ewood and on here let us keep things in perspective and not forget for a moment that Charlton were proper shyte. I thought Johnson our best player and liked what Downing does although he often lobs the ball. Bennett and Bell clueless, Mulgrew I felt sorry for and why wasn't Dack playing? Hmmmmm Gallagher put lots of effort in but poor first touch, not physical enough and a '1 in 9er'
  20. Thanks for the reminder. I'll tune in 4 sure
  21. Its the same, the same old song but with a different Keeper since Raya's gone
  22. I can't fault Gallagher's work rate and closing down but he will never be a DG as long as he has a hole in his arse. Bennett and Bell the standout shyte IMO and maybe if Lenihan had tried to head the friggin ball instead of fouling and if our keeper hadn't been having 40 winks.
  23. That's the plan as I understood Mowbray comments earlier this week. I thought Downing would be aiming for DG to start with though.
  24. That's stubborn as in as stubborn as a thick plank.
  25. IMO Mowbray knew it too.
