  1. De Jong like grass on his arse. He'll fit in well at Barca
  2. We actually finished strongly. Hopes and expectations soar. Decent game though.
  3. No, nothing related to VAR decision making process
  4. Hope so, my post had a typo in it, now corrected
  5. I'm 67 now and without wanting to tempt fate that's a decent age in my Family history. I hope I'm around to see it, almost a decade down the drain already and all due to an Indian family. RUNTS.
  6. Yes, indeed, we can but dream. Watching the Cricket helps too.
  7. He's been in Scotland and just released by Dundee. He seems to have developed into a non-scoring sometimes wide striker.
  8. Those 5 - 6 players, did they get contract extensions and improvements early last Season and now we expect them to just walk away? Football doesn't usually work like that.
  9. Rodwell will be looking at all options, including wages and playing time. I certainly can't fault him for that, why should he be rushed. Mowbray can always take the decision away from Rodwell if he wants, just withdraw whatever offer was made and get the finger out on proper recruitment, I suspect Rodwell was not promised a starting place at Rovers with wages to match ....
  10. A bit more fun at the African Champions League final. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48483152
  11. I have come around to a similar point of view. Not playing related but I liked the way he reported concerns about his previous Agent to the Police back in 2008, showed character and bottle.
  12. Pulis wanted him gone in January to free-up his 35k pw wage. Downing sat tight, understandably. If he had started just one more game at Boro he got an extension plus a wage increase.
  13. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17679546.rovers-hope-to-be-strong-position-to-sign-stewart-downing/ It seems our interest in Downing is real
  14. Ericksen has been way below his best for months, he looks like a player who doesn't want to be at Spurs. I have to say that Kane, who I do rate as a goalscorer, should not have started. That is down to the Manager.
  15. My 14-year-old Son out here, who also goes to a (local) football Academy, went back to School a week ago and just before he left I was telling him all about Tugay warm-ups. I'll now send him this link. Thanks!
  16. The wait and therefore lack of match practice must have played a part as would the heat and humidity within the Stadium. The selection of Kane to start had mistake all over it - Ferdinand and Hoddle got that spot on. As others have said Liverpool were not firing on full cylinders and Spurs the bottlers missed a great chance to bag a Trophy. In the modern game where the arm is raised and extended so high, there is always a likelihood that a penalty will be given even with minimal arm contact, which there was. VAR makes it almost certain. Mane played for it. Overall a very disappointing game to waste time on. I will just avoid Scousers of all types for the foreseeable future, or more likely tell them to do one.
  17. Kane, Ali and Ericksen should have started for Spurs, OH, hang on a minute .......... big players my arse. A good sleep wasted.
