  1. I blanked that out of memory years ago
  2. I think it is us as we are becoming recognised experts in 'protracted talks' with players. Which reminds me, how is Bradley's imminent signing of a new contract coming along? He was absent from the new kit photo for a reason.
  3. Decent gate. How many bin dippers?
  4. That's actually a bonus!
  5. I wonder how often Celtic have changed their shade of green in the hoops. I don't know but closer to 'never' than the 'many times' it has been suggested Rovers have. Most football fans know Celtic's colours and design. Brand image works.
  6. Watching it online. Ukraine tomorrow with France on Monday. Both ko 4.30 pm uk time. http://www.live-footballontv.com England and other countries are blaming UEFA for scheduling these games during preseason and not during an international break, saying PL clubs want to take a close look at their youngsters in a full preseason including on tour. Probably right too. Lancs romped it v Leics, biggie tomorrow!
  7. The highlighted portion is quite simply untrue. Under 10 times in our complete history has pale/cambridge blue been used. Sound business decision - if you have a universally recognised brand image such as Rovers iconic blue and white halves why make what is in fact a major change to the colours? Many clubs may change their home shirt design, very few a major change to their colours. Anyway someone has had their way already and fans opinion is ignored. What's done is done.
  8. I was just thinking on this subject and about the previous examples of the BBE family stand closure, the Darwen end now away only to name but two. For a Club that bangs on about Community values it seems that those who pay good money to enter Ewood on a matchday are the ones ignored the most. Historically we have played in a darker blue for the majority of our history. Now under the Vs we go pale twice within a few years. It's progressive disassociation aimed at the younger generation, the aim of this is my worry. Venky's colours in stripes anyone?
  9. Player transfer values and wages have been on the up in the Championship for quite a few years. Refer back to QPR and Leicester. With increasingly wealthy clubs being relegated from the PL, with increasing money in the Championship from media rights and by natural progression the up trend will continue until and unless an overall implosion occurs by media money input falling - unlikely and forcast to rise. If I can see that so can the likes of Waggot. It has not caught anyone by suprise. Final judgement on Rovers performance in this window is reserved until it closes, and I don't mean the loan window!
  10. Perhaps he thinks the pale blue doesn't suit a macho image. I compliment him in his fashion sense. I am very concerned about Dack. Someone is running this through to transfer window closure. Whomever it is it is not good. IMO.
  11. True. Blue has always been my favourite colour, apart from washed-out pale blues which I detest. Still what's done is done and money saved.
  12. I know the history. Been there. Done it. Have a look at which colour of blue dominates all our history, and on which side.
  13. Totally agree, a quite awful kit. I would not buy a knock-off, not that we are in that market. God only knows what the away is like, eye shattering is my fear. Something else for the Dingles to laugh at. This time correctly At least the haven't messed up our Club badge, the only decent thing still in that kit.
  14. SHIrTS - message to Nixon
  15. TM I expect truly thought that Caddis would mend his ways. As you rightly intiate we only have a small number of miscreants. I wonder if his wages can be claimed as a tax deductible charitable donation. Joking, he probably got a promotion bonus and wage increase following promotion. I do however suspect the contract was a favour/ risk taken to an old friend, at Rovers expense.
  16. Caddis had known lifestyle, weight and fitness issues well before we signed him. TM knew this and, as I recall, commented publically on it pre signing. Nothing appears to have changed, indeed his condition has possibly worsened. The signing was odd at the time and so is the current situation where a manager states that a player he signed is, a year later, still unfit. Rovers appear to want to be a support centre for disinterested footballers. It makes no logical sense. All of this is before one considers the value of Caddis as a footballer and what he brings to our squad. The owners and Waggot must be asking TM WTF is going on with this waste of space and money.
  17. Striker, age 20, no first team experience for anyone in any senior league. Backup at best. The 'players I've coached' scouting system prevails
  18. The bit about PL clubs being just back in pre-season is complete BS too. Most have been back 2 weeks already. I know that they will be testing all their squad in pre-season so understand the loan market delays. Much talk about our budget which is always confusing not having a clue what it is although previously told by TM that it was competitive or something like that. Underwhelmed so far and getting twitchier by the day. We need settling as far as possible by kick off and our more 'favourable' August fixtures.
  19. It's live on LFCTV too so may well be 'available' online through other means.
  20. More confirmation from Mowbray that we are looking at loans........... https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/tony-were-playing-the-waiting-game-right-now/
  21. Mowbray says PL teams are just a day or two back in pre-season. Nonsense. For example, Liverpool play their 4th pre-season friendly this week against us. He most certainly is looking at loans to close a know weakness in our striker section. Good luck on that one.
  22. I turned the sound off as soon as I heard rap! Just finished watching on Youtube the 50 mins 2006 documentary on our '66 win. The first time I've seen it. First class player interviews too. I had forgotten how Ramsey was so private yet intense and controversial and how he tinkered with systems and personnel as the tournament progressed to get to the Final team. I do recall being disappointed that Jimmy Greaves was not playing in the Final and that the big lump Hurst was still in. The rest is history, lol.
  23. All World Cup Finals 1930 - 2010 Nice way to fill in the time unto kick-off today
  24. Totally agree. The service was almost non existent.
  25. Which he rarely does at his club where he feeds of through balls, crosses and set pieces but has great movement across the line to join in with moves and the strikers gift of finding space and time. Litlle of that is apparent in an England shirt. I don't think he's Captain material either and also think he and Sterling are on different playing wavelengths.
