  1. Sensibly leaving would be anti Bazzball.
  2. They will leave a bigger target, we can hardly bat out a full day and there's a lot of time yet to play.
  3. England run rate of 4.27 slightly better than Aussies 4.13. Thing is they batted 100 overs and we survived just 76. In the first Test the Aussies batted a bit over 3 whilst we were well ahead on RR. Who won? The team who batted long and deep. Simple Maths.
  4. Bairstow gives a dolly. Lemmings.
  5. The exact Aussie run rate in the first innings was 4.13 per over England's, so far, is 4.55 So Bazzball is scoring at 0.42 more runs per over than the 'old fashion way' What's the fuss about apart from media hype. Smith anchored their innings together and allowed Head to score at a run a ball whilst getting a ton himself. If that's old fashioned the bring it on! Let's see Stokes do similar.
  6. Me too. In truth in these matters I am Draconian in that I would ban alcohol, cigarettes and gambling in total. It will never happen as they are big earners for the Exchequer so this is put ahead of public health. I say this as a previous plonker and still smoker and know too well the adverse effects of both.
  7. I think they are adapting already
  8. Yes, and in the first Test too. It's going to be a tough series to win when they are also more aggressive when batting. Lyon's injury could play a big part, not only in this Test.
  9. I, politely, think your opinion is wrong. Massively.
  10. Anyway if Brooks, whom I rate highly, gets into full flow and Stokes plays himself into form we could be in for a treat. Brooks has already had a reprieve so don't push your luck. For all the Buzz about Bazz we are scoring at just 0.55 RPO more that the Aussies
  11. Smith has form for being a cheating barsteward.
  12. As well as being one of the best English batsmen ever, also one of the most articulate. M. Vaughan OBE is a dinosaur at age 48 .... that may me smile. Talk about 'closed minds'
  13. All our dismissals today were as a result of poor shot selection and or execution and not brilliant bowling. Greens wicket a prime example, a wicket from nothing more than along hop.
  14. The Aussies scored at over 4 RPO, that is the opposite of boring. A major reason we lost the first Test was a mental declaration on the first day with wickets to spare and Root at the crease. At the moment Stokes and Brooks are playing sensible cricket to see the day out. I trust I've not jinxed them. Edit: England's first innings is going at a RPO of 4.55
  15. Quite right too. Good beer. 73% of UK adults drink booze at least once a week, 43% gamble. The horse bolted a long time ago.
  16. Pope and now Root playing T20. Brooks is too and may not be long for this wicket. I don't like that.
  17. Green gets a wicket through Pope playing T20. I don't like that.
  18. What a mouth Carey has. Non stop bs. Watching on Astro Cricket TV and for some reason they have stump mike on max volume almost drowning out commentary. Crawley out to a poor shot but played well. Lyon down injured, could be a game changer. Duckett and Pope playing good aggressive cricket shots. I like that.
  19. True. The Aussies have a superb batting line up and bat deep, Cummins is a revelation and Lyon can do attack, prone though to throw his wicket away chasing runs like today, or bat long defensively.
  20. The Aussies would seriously look at Brooks and Tongue
  21. We have a really good squad at u21 and in with a decent shout in these Euros. Portugal next up.
  22. That hit him on his back leg, closest to the crease and not far to the stumps. That was out. A DRS fail
  23. We are getting a Bazzing, I wonder if the Aussies will declare early ........
