  1. The u21s play Germany today, 5pm UK ko time, in their final group match at the u21 euro championships. We are already qualified and probably already group winners. U21s is having a laugh, u23s or even u24s more accurate so the England team is packed with experience. Not sure if the competition is getting much coverage in the UK but further abroad there is TV interest. I think it is available in the UK via the UEFA website or by VPN via someone like BEIN
  2. Good win 2-0 for the u21s at the Euros. Enjoyable watch, different Ref standards whereby you get booked for not retreating at freekicks, quote right too for what is standard acceptable unpunished practice in England.
  3. Me too but please no more stir crazy first innings batting declarations on the first day. Bat long and big if the occasion presents itself.
  4. Add in a really big innings or a few of them from Head and bigger contributions from the likes of Warner, Green and Carey. I posted earlier they bat deep and yesterday Boland, Cummins and Lyon proved it. A little noted flaw of Bazzball is that a high RPO whilst losing wickets in a 5 day Test still leaves time for those teams scoring slower to get over the finishing line and win. The flaw is accentuated if on occasion our fielding is below par. The Aussies are world champs for a reason.
  5. Sue the PGA, MBS will pay quickly to avoid adverse comment on his sports washing.
  6. Porteous is a decent CB who also scores goals. At the game the DJ has just played Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis.
  7. Dropped catches, and a poor keeper didn't help either. TBF if Root and Stokes had caught today's chances they would have been sensational and probably won us the game. The sheer folly of that declaration grates. We lost to the Aussies. I would prefer if we all batted like paint job Kawanja if we won against the convicts.
  8. I actually love it when we are getting 5 RPO in a Test especially against the World Champions, and they are currently the best team all round. Chucking your wicket away is an entirely different matter.
  9. It's not entertaining at all seeing a great batsman like Root charge down the pitch and get stumped when yards out of his crease as if he was in T20 Suicide in not painless. The Aussies have great bowlers and fielders and they bat deep and are in the driving seat now. Much depends on Stokes and Bairstow.
  10. These days I'm as dry as a bone, my halcyon days have gone ..... hence I'm just about still here to enjoy another Ashes and see proper cricket...... Talking of which I caught the Lance DLS T20 win whilst it rained in the Test so have only seen replays of how Crawley and Duckett went, playing their somewhat familiar shots. Thank goodness for cricket, it's kept me away from the summer circus of the transfer thread at brfcs.com and my swearing is down at least 80%. I hope the weather is kind at the Test, another good days viewing starts soon.
  11. Ali fined 25% of his match fee for using a spray to try to protect his blistered finger, which is a mess. He didn't tell the umpires so that was a bit silly when playing the Sandpapers. That declaration is starting to look more suspect as our openers play shots usually seen when giving your keeper and slips catching practice. Time for another Root masterclass and for Stokes the batsman to turn up.
  12. It was a strange one and just a touch of arrogance. Going at 5 RPO with Root established and Robinson doing ok everything points to batting the first innings out whilst trying to maintain the scoring rate. I also hope that Stokes doesn't personally look to bat as if its T20. Still they are the experts so fingers crossed.
  13. Apparently it ends as an incestuous orgy, so probably a yes.
  14. This change will cost that SU player his job, it was about all he was half decent at and milked it playing to the crowd and cameras. Good riddance.
  15. "MULTIBALL / TOWELS The EFL will introduce a multiball system in all its competitions for the 2023/24 season. Match balls will be placed on cones in designated areas at pitch side to help increase the time of the ball being in play. Meanwhile, Clubs will no longer be permitted to use towels or other articles, including items obtained from spectators to dry footballs during matches." Both good moves.
  16. It was awful, West Ham mostly pathetic. They got lucky.
  17. Its a divorce that has been in the courts for years upon boring years. And sometimes they friggin reconcile.
  18. Selling booze in heavy plastic containers. Sounds eminently sensible to give projectiles to morons. Oh, and what a shit game.
  19. Someone got very rich, very quickly American golfer Michael Kim said: "The hell is going on? Very curious how many people knew this deal was happening. About 5-7 people? Player run organisation right?"
  20. And they are continuing to play as if they've never played this format before. Livingstone not even trying. Grim watching.
  21. I'll asky Andy C if he agrees, time is a healer .....
  22. I had intended to give in a complete swerve but the Test Match was already heading to only one conclusion. I have been more bored, I just can't recall when.
  23. City in 2nd gear with the intensity of a pre season kick about. Manure are shite. The ref is a weakling. How was Casemiro not booked early on and the free kick awarded to him. Harsh penalty. One thing I have learned, I dislike MU more than City.
  24. I had planned to watch the final followed by England U20s but as it meant 6am finish and feeling tired I gave them a swerve and got some sleep. Looks like I made the correct choice for once. I recall giving up at HT in the Liverpool v AC game .... There have been others in both football and cricket... I will make the effort see WHU and City win their finals but not sure I can cope with the FA Cup final offering but that's a signal for it to be a decent game
