  1. A horse that is 15lb higher than last year, that has failed to complete any of its races since last year and would have to become the first horse since Red Rum to win off top weight. But we digress. Brereton and Dolan please Tony.
  2. It’s almost 50 years since Blackpool did the double over Preston. Wonder when they last did the double over both of us in the same season.
  3. The take up on that depends on the next 2 weeks.
  4. I'm going to credit where it's due here. I've just watched the highlights at work for the first time since Saturday. When so many crosses are harmlessly floated in or drilled too long or hit the first man, for practically the last kick of the game that is a peach of a cross the Coventry player puts in. Unfortunately. It helps that he is right footed on the right side though.
  5. Newcastle buying Chris Wood has saved Everton.
  6. Wonder which one of our out of contract will end up at Burnley on a free?
  7. For which incident? Cos he didn’t touch the guy who went down when clean through. He clipped his own heels.
  8. I’d rather have had the first half out of them, got infront and then gone more solid. Instead we gifted them a 1 goal league, had to change it to get back into and were left trying to defend with a predominantly attacking line-up. As i said last time in a similar situation, if he’s only going to get a half out of them why not one in the first half and one in the second seeing as with the starting lineup we hadn’t scored away since mid-March. Instead we did the same as we have done for the last 2 months which hasn’t worked at all. Stupidity.
  9. True, but probably not brought on 3 attacking players when we had already started with just a back 4.
  10. As Miller said we’d wasted the subs correcting the awful shape and personnel from the first half. Therefore Nyambe could hardly move but had to carry on.
  11. I suppose we have to think of the long term effects that rushing him back might have on his career at Sevilla or West Ham.
  12. But he is available to start tomorrow and played 80 mins 4 days ago, If he’s ‘sore’ then painkilling injection and on you go.
  13. Good job there wasn't BRFCS and twitter around then. From the 4000 holes piece in the article:-
  14. Whilst it wouldn’t affect me, I did read this earlier on twitter and just shook my head. Just another barrier. For those unaware - tickets ordered online for home games can no longer be posted or collected
  15. Teammate George Russell qualifies in 6th. The car isn’t great but that’s simply a bad day at the office for Hamilton.
  16. From the official site: ”Rovers trip to Preston North end has got a new date and kick off time after being selected for live TV broadcast” If you take it literally, that implies is has been moved only because Sky selected it.
  17. Agree. When we hadn't lost to them for ages I was apprehensive of the later games as you could see the direction the quality of our squad was going in. Plus hyping up the 30+ years thing almost put more pressure on not to lose. Now it's almost like there is nothing to lose. They've beaten us something like 3 of the last 4 so it doesn't sting like it first did. in fact, I would imagine it would be Burnley fans not looking forward to clarification of how they have fallen by losing to us next year if they were relegated.
  18. If they persist in charging £30+ per game they should do a "money back if no entertainment' guarantee. For example:- Rovers don't score = you get £5 back Rovers miss penalty = you get £2 back Defensive midfielder plays up front = £8 back Striker plays at full back = £15 back and a free pie and so on.....
  19. For some reason when I quote 2 posts it doesn’t let me type underneath the quotations on my iPad. I thought I could edit the post but that didn’t work either.
  20. @Gav The stick being used to beat Mowbray is the sides inability to score goals. Playing left wing backs as a right forward and Johnson in attacking positions is just contributing to the main problem. Whichever way you look at it, some of the stats would be pathetic for a relegation-bound club - 0 goals in 7 away games. 6 goals in the last 14 games.
  21. It’s not just me then 🤣
  22. I’m not going to read the thread as I don’t want to relive it again, but did I imagine Giles pinging a lot of dangerous crosses in from the left wing against Swansea? So why is he now shoved out on the right side either slowing the play right down or compromising his delivery. If you are going to play him up top, stick him on the left side so he at least can do what he’s proved good at. Nyambe would have been slated for the service Giles’ right foot provided tonight, but it’s not really his fault for being stuck there.
  23. I know we can't really expect it of him, but those 5 goals are probably going to have to come from Dack.
  24. Agree with this. There's still time for it to be coached out of him, but against Fulham he wriggled free and cut inside from the left wing. There was a ball on to play JRC clear down the right side but he never got his head up at all. He was looking down at the ball with the intention of trying to twist past the next man. He'd done the first difficult bit, he just needed to do the straight forward bit. He needs to watch Rothwell more. He will dart forward past his man and advance us 15 yards up the pitch, but he will then look to move the ball on if his path is blocked.
