  1. I don’t like the Huddersfield player reactions on the pitch after the game though. It’s one thing celebrating a bit but these lads sat on fans shoulders singing look like a they think the job is done.
  2. I like teams that find ways to win. Huddersfield are top of the form table over the last 25 games in the Championship. Forest are top over the last 20. Presuming Forest get through it’s the correct two teams competing in the final, and I’ve got a sneaky feeling for Huddersfield. I’ve already backed the Huddersfield to go up / Leeds to go down double. Oh, and Nathan Jones is a bit of a nob. Enjoyed watching Luton go out.
  3. But. But. But. Director of football is the way forward.
  4. And the forum is here also to disagree with people. Chaddy chooses which rumours to believe and which ones to ignore based on his beliefs / wishes. Don’t we all. You’ve heard on good authority we had interviews. People heard on good authority Mowbray was leaving last summer. We’ve had tons of rumours on ‘good authority’ that have not come to fruition. Post them by all means, but don’t get offended or protective if people disagree. And, most importantly, don’t post rumours as though they are fact to justify your opinion.
  5. Massively harsh on Huddersfield. They’ve only lost 2 of their last 28 league games going back to the end of November, which includes wins at Forest and Fulham. They’ve always looked comfortable in big games I’ve seen them in. They also knocked Burnley out the cup. I’d say they’ve flown under the radar a bit this season. They’ll beat Luton and will be tough in the final.
  6. Whilst we are having a VAR whinging day following that Burnley penalty, that’s another problem there with the Everton game. Commentators and people on here are saying that at Tottenham, although it was close proximity and the referee didn’t see it, by the letter of the new laws it was handball and therefore a penalty. But that was a penalty for shirt holding on Richardson according to the rules for the last 50 years. And yet that is ignored. If the on-pitch referee doesn’t see it or give it, then unless there is no debate that the decision is wrong VAR should not overturn.
  7. Mike Riley at the start of the season on the new handball law "If the ball strikes that arm, particularly if it is blocking a shot on goal, there is a greater likelihood we will penalise that." The proximity of the player whose hand or arm makes contact with the ball to where the ball was struck from will still be an important consideration for officials when making a decision to award handball or not.” Well in the Burnley circumstances the ball was going nowhere near the goal, nor into a dangerous position. And it was also pretty close so the proximity should be taken into account. When you watch it at actual speed it’s ridiculously harsh. Showing the ref slow-mo replays doesn’t help. He should view it at actual speed in the context of the situation. Joke of a decision. Funny though.
  8. We were at someone’s house watching the game (as they had Sky) although he had actually gone to Anfield. He was recording the game and said make sure he got the full coverage. He still whinges because on his recording for the last 6 minutes of the game I kept flicking over to Sky Sports 2 and watching the West Ham game. (Note for younger members - On Sky , a VCR could only record the channel you were actually watching)
  9. Somewhere on another Premier League message board:- "I hear we might be arranging a friendly against Blackburn Rovers in the Summer. With no disrespect to Blackburn it's not much of a test for Wolves. We need to be playing European clubs to put us to the maximum test. If we lose, we can examine our weaknesses and strengths and put things right before next season. " Plus remember who it is at Ewood who will be phoning clubs up to try and arrange these fixtures. Add in we only ever seem to have 1 friendly at Ewood to look after the pitch then the chance of playing multiple premier league teams is low.
  10. Why would a Director of Football achieve this when everyone else ‘running’ the club has failed. Venkys don’t listen or respond to anyone at Ewood, regardless of their title, role or background.
  11. When Waggot gets confirmation from the V’s that TM’s contract is not being renewed, then we will get an announcement. The only reason not to announce it is because you’re not 100% sure it’s definite. Waggot will have recommended Mowbray stays but Venkys don’t agree and have said they’ll phone Mowbray to explain the situation this week (hence the TM comments about not knowing how much authority Waggot has and expecting a ‘phone call’. Anyone who thinks Waggot and the owners are in discussion about who to interview and what kind of manager they want are in cuckoo land. There will be a Teams meeting scheduled early June to discuss it.
  12. Although if Luton had no injuries themselves they would possibly have had more points. We won’t be the only club to have suffered over the season, Luton-chief-is-praying-for-some-divine-intervention-to-heal-towns-crippling-injury-list
  13. How do this lot (Birmingham) look so shite every season and yet always manage to stay up.
  14. As much as I think Mowbray is a canny operator who knows what he’s doing, in this instance I think he is hedging his bets so he leaves with dignity and reputation held high, whilst not actively saying he wants to leave because deep down he doesn’t. That’s why he hasn’t simply said “Ive made my mind up. I want to leave” However I don’t think there’s any doubt that he has had no communication about his contract. I don’t believe he would go into press conferences and say he hasn’t discussed his contract at all when he actually has. That would be bare-faced, even by Kean standards. Personally I think Waggot would love to keep Mowbray and would recommend that to the owners, but he’s no line to them at the moment either, hence why he’s gone quiet.
  15. It’s popping up on sports feeds all over. The comments from all over the world on it, from people who obviously This could be a master stroke at increasing Asian attendance even further, providing the £430 doesn’t put them off.
  16. Not really. There’s little liquidity in those markets so if a bookie got stung they’ve no chance of balancing the books. That’s why you can only place a maximum of £20 on, for example, Wilcox to be next manager on skybet. And if 5 of us did that now I guarantee it would shorten up significantly from 12/1
  17. So was it based on a couple of news stories or not? Make your mind up.
  18. Yep. I’d say the best three teams we have seen at Ewood this season are the top 3 in that order.
  19. That just validates his point. A couple of news stories appeared and it probably only took a small number of bets and Lambert was odds on. The bookies market is just an indication of where the money has gone.
  20. The LT are just running with the “I’m leaving, I’ve had no contact about my contract renewal” line. Its hasn’t been announced by the club at all. Were in no different a position today as we were on Friday.
  21. Well he’s taken over a Tony Mowbray team before and got them promoted. Surprising he’s been out of management for 6 years though.
  22. He’s dropped cos Mowbray doesn’t pick him for some personal reason, either between the two or more likely due to contract negotiations. This has regularly been to the detriment of the team. However posters on here claim it is because he isn’t enough going forward and because he is out of contract. Yet he was replaced yesterday by someone who wasn’t good enough going forward, is out of contract and doesn’t play full back.
