  1. "Hometown team came in for him" Bullshit. Jack wouldn't sell him to United, fullstop.
  2. there's only one fake, and it's . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Manure..........
  3. No mention of Pickering or McEvoy?
  4. If mickeyd is having a shot at Glenn when he actually goes to some games, what's he going to think of me Anyway, the Rovers to keep another clean sheet 2-0
  5. Has anyone noticed that Amelie Mauresmo looks like our Toogs. Actually, there's the answer, Toogs has been playing tennis and Amelie has been playing football.....
  6. Anyone seen any comments coming out of Newcastle?
  7. was in Brisbane earlier this (sorry, last) year. Caught up with Trooper for an ale or three, despite the best efforts of Virgin Blue to keep me in Sydney.
  8. Where the dickens is the Charles Dickens? Is it close to the city? does it have good ale? Does it have good food? I was thinking of staying at the Casino, is it close to there?
  9. Good points there, Paul. Maybe now's the time to re introduce the "Home" Internationals
  10. SR has booked his flight, I'll do mine a little closer to the day, though there are some great deals with Qantas at the moment.
  11. I would rather he stay with us, and prove what a good player he purports to be and then moves on, rather than go back to a ...........
  12. I've found Qantas at $110 return!!!!!, Mind you it doesn't give much time for drinking
  13. Neekoy, just a couple of tips. Make sure that your travel agent has the tickets for the games you want. Make sure you have an iron clad price. Two of my mates were booked for Korea/Japan, only to find the price going up week by week. There were many instances of travel agents not having tickets for games. Fortunately, they didn't lose any money, but beware the sharks.
  14. This will be my only comment on this. American, you'll have to travel to see the meaning in what many are saying. "China's "Backyard""? "$500 million slush fund"? "Australia's Backyard"? (earlier post) I don't think you realise the general feeling towards the US worldwide. It is NOT good, and I'm not a big critic of the US.
  15. We will have to watch out for Cahill. He is a "will o' the wisp", not much to him but he gets into position seemingly without the opposition noticing. Despite his lack of height, he can get up to put in some great headers. The feeling in my waters is that this match will be tighter than some think. We may even snatch a win.
  16. just a tad too strong there, theno. I went to the return game at WHL following that famous 7-2 result at Ewood. The Rovers lost 4-1 (if my memory serves me corect) Our goal by Harrison, straight through the "onion bag". Yeah, it broke the net. As for him not being fit to laces Duff's boots, way way out of order. In many ways, he was more of a "Rovers" player than Duff ever was. The way he fitted into the team was, perhaps, more significant for the team at that time, than was Duffs, during his term at Ewood.
  17. not got them for the fifth day, have you;-)
  18. can't someone dig up the last thread on this subject, it might save a bit of space.......
  19. but, over the last few games, we are not losing. A conundrum one might say.
  20. USA, a normal thinking person would realise that there weren't hordes of uncouth northern youth calling Yorke. Or am I being too optimistic about the "normal thinking person" here? It's been proven that there were just two (possibly one). Time to get on with the rest of the life that is available to us guys.
  21. So, If I'm getting this right....... Cole gets a big ovation from the whole crowd when he enters the pitch......... and.... the Blackburn supporters round on the press that are there. I can hear it now "two fingered winkers clap clap clap, two fingered winkers........"
  22. Hughesy, good luck, just tell the truth as you saw and heard it. As for the two young lads, let them say their piece, it might be a different story to DY's, (if they can remember ) I wonder if any of the well paid lawyers will ask them if they were Rovers supporters!
  23. thank you Den. Until someone is found guilty, everyone involved is innocent. If no one is found to have abused Yorke in the way he described, then, well.... If someone is found to have abused Yorke, then cart him into court asap and chuck the book at him, make him an example..... but, until then.......
