  1. surely if he turned down any other offer that was given to him he could "do a bogarde" and sit the rest of contract out at bolton? And if he is 'sold gainst his wishes' he certainly wouldn't lose out financially unless his agent has been very silly in his previous contract negotiations.
  2. Grow up. Did it occur to you that some people may have made a donation in another place? Or multiple donations? I don't know what France is like, but the weekend of the Charlton match, counting just one bucket per place I came came across at least 6 different places I was asked for another donation.
  3. Yesterday I was paying £19, today I'm paying £21. Nice one Rovers.
  4. Don't mean to be pedantic but I think Davidson went to leicester But Johnson went to Brum. Whats a David or a John between friends?
  5. The lowest possible price would have been £6 under FA rules: As can be seen, no provision for young adult tickets are allowed or even a guaranteed discount for season ticket holders. As Rovers are fully aware of the likely (non-)attendance figures, I really don't believe for a second that John Williams came up with this pricing structure as his opening gambit.
  6. Don't the away club have to agree to the pricing of tickets? Perhaps Cardiff think they are in for a bumper pay day...
  7. a week on tuesday A week Wednesday according to the official site.
  8. Thanks for mentioning that. I was telling some friends about this 'goal' a few weeks ago and they looked at me as if I was mad. I even started to think I'd dreamt the entire the incident.
  9. Hmmm. Top of the class. I'm just slightly miffed that for the last 4 matches I've had a bet on Emerton to score 1st and today I didn't. However, 7 points from the Christmas periiod is good, especially with two more clean sheets.
  10. As a supplier to major multiples I could give chapter and verse on what constitutes a fair price compared to what the market dictates.... Sufficient to say there is a wide gap between a fair price allowing profitability and re-investment for and by the supplier compared to the price major multiples are prepared to pay for many products. Spot on. The idea that Supply & Demand actually holds true for a market equilibrium state when talking about a global economic power is utter tosh. You don't need a degree in economics to see that (although I'm sure there is at least one economist on here...)
  11. How's the following line up grab you... Filan Curtis Berg Todd Taylor Gillespie Dunn Flitty Hignett Yorke Cole Subs: Carsley, Bent, Johnson, Sukur
  12. At least we are not guaranteed to be relegated - there's no way we can be bottom of the table on Christmas Day. OK, I'm clutching at straws now...
  13. Don't %$*!*&% dare! At Norwich away, it was the first time I had the 'pleasure' of being in close proximity to the drummer. My head finally stopped pounding by the time I was back in Huddersfield. The respect I feel for those who sit in the BBE went up astronomically after that day. It was either respect or sincere sympathy.
  14. Another game, another staggeringly good performance for Dickov. Has the club ever spent £150,000 as wisely on an outfield player?
  15. My only complaint is that Emerton didn't score a third goal... I'd have won £150 instead of the £85 profit I did show. The fitness levels of the players was incredible, and watching the match with a Liverpool fan, he was astonished at the way we didn't give Fulham half a second on the ball. Dickov - superb Gally - he's staking a real claim Nissa - only 3 "what you doing"s in the match"and how often was he in a genuinely advance position Fulham were the worst team I've seen this season, and I felt sorry for Andy Cole (then again, I often felt sorry for him at Rovers as well).
  16. I would think it is unlikely to lead to any serious action against the club. Two idiots is not the same as 30,000 Spaniards constantly doing it for 90 mins. Add to the fact that one of those who was alledgedly involved was ejected, shows the club tried to tackle the issue as it happened. Steve Bruce by trying to draw parallels to the mid week international is either trying to divert attention away from their performance, or is slightly mad.
  17. Another nail in the coffin for our once decent club. The handling of his departure couldn't have been much more badly done. After the fiasco of the sale of the club shop and the apparent double standards of stewarding, the last thing Rovers needed was another way to wind up fans. Even those who think it's a good move to retire Tony will be dismayed at the monumental cock-up in the way events have transpired. Cheers Tony, all the best for the future and don't let the buzzards get you down.
  18. I still wear a blackarm band in memory of the day C&A pulled out.
  19. What's so difficult for those who want to look at songs (if that's the correct word for the inane drivel posted by many in that forum) to do three clicks of a mouse?
  20. Thing is, it's not just teens. The offending group also included someone who was in his mid/late 20s and someone who was probably in his 40s...
  21. Odd how Bellamy11 missed and you saw the penalty incident, considering he was sat directly in front of you! Regarding the match, I thought Reid had by far his best match for Rovers. Still not convinced he's Premiership class, but I'll give him his dues for that performance. Thought we were Ok at the back, although there were more "Nissa what're you doing?" moments in the first 15 minutes than the entire Liverpool match.
  22. It was the sheer daftness of the individuals concerned that was most staggering. After being asked repeatedly to sit down - very politely by a chief steward - and refusing, when asked again, with a police man nearby, did they think "looks like we're onto a loser here lads"? No, course not, all they did was try and encourage other people around them to stand up as well. Now some fans did so, obviously using the logic if 10 people stand up, the stewards and the police will get so confused they won't know which of the group were the ones they'd been speaking to for about 15 minutes. Further evidence at the cunning plans of the group in question was that towards the end, they swapped seats (by up to three away!), again in a strategic masterplan to outfox the officials. Admittedly, this was rather undermined by two in particular turning round to face the police and acting as if they were giving the bobbies enough time to paint potraits, let alone take pictures.
  23. Me and a mate are travelling down on Friday and staying just the one night. Anyone know if there are any good fireworks displays on?
  24. No he didn't. Tugay went through the back of the player with both feet. As he was already on a yellow he should have showed a bit more common sense, especially as he was challenging for a nothing ball in the middle of the pitch. The second yellow was fully justified (whatever your opinion of the first) and Tugay knew it. The players on the pitch lost us the match today, not the ref, the fans, lady sodding luck or anyone else, and to say otherwise is scapegoating plain and simple. Franny Jeffers has just deliberately handled the ball, much like Tugay did last week. Hand up in the air and took the ball with him. He followed that up within a couple of minutes, by a reckless challenge on a Liverpool defender. His punishment? a yellow card for the foul. But when Toogs got the yellow card, the ref pointed to four other areas of the pitch suggesting it was his 4th minor offence. Then again, he could have been pointing to other blue-and-white halves saying you play for that team.
  25. Watched the match on Norwegian tv... Heh hum. I really think we need to look towards the future already and start playing the youngsters and those likely still to be with the club in Championship.
