First off we all know it's a squad game these days. More injuries in football than ever before, higher intensity. Our squad has shamelessly been culled to the point there is zero depth - literally no options- for the guaranteed issues of injuries, loss of form and plan B. It's appalling that no one outside the first 11 is even of championship level football. One thing that illustrates this is super Sami is the replacement for Armstrong, Bereton, Rothwell and Dack... Even the first, or likely first 11 has some whopping issues you wouldn't be happy with. Gally is an OK championship striker in my book but no one would really be happy with him being the quality of your star striker/main man. No one would be happy with Pears as number 1 keeper at championship level. Too many errors by far and only wanted because the replacement is much worse. Brittain is poor, not good enough offensively to play further forward or be a semi consistent threat and weak defensively. And outside of the first 11 my word it's grim. A loanee who couldn't cut it in a lower French division, the invisible man, a crocked midfielder, and strikers who don't look like scoring if they played on an empty pitch. It's a grim situation. Mind you I do feel Stome are rotten, Sheff Weds for all their good form are still just below us, Brum have a very weird situation that won't help them and Rotherham have kindly made sure that's one relegation place sown up. So it's not over yet, although that's bugger all to do with our merit and entirely the dross of the division.

Given what I expected when I saw who was in goal and Millwall's form, I'm pleasantly surprised with a point. Is it enough? It's a point further from the relegation zone. Stoke lost again, as did our next opponents Plymouth. Bit surprised and worried Sheff Wed are climbing out of the mire but still tonight wasn't a disaster result wise. The bigger issue for me is by all accounts our play, attitude and everything else is hurtling downwards and will inevitably catch up with us next year if we aren't crap enough to go down this time round.

Now I don't think Pears is a championship level keeper. Far too many poor games and needless errors. BUT he is Buffon compared to the alternative. The defense is going to earn its coin tonight!

Thats not hindsight, that's common sense and the likely outcome. Must be great to never be wrong.

I make it 10 points. Think a couple of wins may be swapped round, Coventry deffo a loss as they seek playoffs. Whilst we are bad it's worth remembering that there's a lot of dross in the Championship. Which may see a couple more results swing our way. Any team with ambition though should be expecting more wins. A semi competent championship outfit would be disappointed not to get a point vs Boro, win from one of our upcoming 2 games and a win at a poor Bristol team. That would easily be enough to see us safe.

Amusing as it is to read a toddler shouting "why won't anyone accept what I say?" the question - topic not toddler- is a sobering one. IF we get relegated after the cushion we've had with the amount of games to go I wouldn't want him. It'd be poor management even if he was dealt a crap hand. He'd have had to have got a terrible points return and manage to be one of the very few managers ever to not have any honeymoon period/New manager bounce. He will stay on though as our club is a shambles.

Gutted. Very proud of the Team. Scant consolation but the barcodes aren't going to win owt this season.

Think we've been unlucky that Gally came off for Sig, and the ref is from Newcastle. That said I wonder if nicking it would have been better for the team than a 20 minute rest for a few players.

Gutting to see those subs. Was beginning to think we were going to sneak it. Mind you today has given me some optimism Eustace isn't a total dud. Impressed with the set up and today's performance. McFadz has been immense, very surprised he's not been the bad signing I thought he would be. In fact he's been immense. The subs show how ant manager is fighting with his hands tied behind his back. Totally underresourced. Criminally so

Gally has many, many limitations but we are far weaker without him on. Not sure Sig will have the same presence or work rate as Gally or be as useful defensively. Not saying Gally hasn't been frustrating but I'd prefer that to non existent.

I often think he flatters to deceive. He looks OK going forwards from rb, but doesn't really have the quality or consistency to play in midfield. And he doesn't have the defensive capability to be a good right back either.

He hasn't a clue. He states there was no managerial stability- which is bull. We gave Bowyer and TM both for too long. The issue is clearly Venkys incompetence.

We are a mucky mouse club. Zero professionalism, pride or standards from those in charge. How do they sleep at night? On the team I don't think there's too many issues having Buckley, its not having a proper tackler with him. At least Buckley can pass it. Moran has yet to do anything in his time here.

I did wonder if there was a link. Decent defensive mid if I recall although not at the level we needed. The big issue I have with this is I remember his dad as a youth player. Inference is i'm a fair bit older than I like to think I am!
