I thought it would be a good idea to have a topic based on football around the planet. I expect there are a lot of people who regularly watch football in other countries so this could be a good thread to post the latest news from around the world. Just to start it off. Derbyshire scored the only goal to give Olympiakos a 1-0 victory away to Panionios. He's bagged his 1st goal since joining the club on a permanent deal. Ex-Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger has quit Stuttgart and signed for Italian side Lazio. I've been trying to find out how much for but no luck at the moment. Anyone else know? Wouldn't have minded him back in the Premier League wearing our blue and white halves.

No I haven't seen that. I read mixed reviews on it so haven't really thought about watching it. I'll ask my friend if he has it as he's a big film buff especially Asian films. If he's got it, i'll let you know what I think of it.

A friend just sent me a link to Susan Boyle's version of 'Wild Horses'. At first I thought it was quite a bizarre song choice for her to sing but I actually prefer her version to the Rolling Stones.

I felt that the entire show was basically about whether Ron is a racist or not and not really about the show itself. Of course they had to bring up what happened but I didn't feel that they needed to spend the majority of the show talking about the one off incident when everyone knows that he isn't some kind of white supremacist. What he did was wrong, he accepts and understands that he was wrong to say it and I hope he gets back into the game because he's a great character and what he's done in football is up there with the best of them.

Is it just me thinking this or is Taylor is getting fatter after years of slimming down?

Phil Taylor crushed Barney 7 sets to 1. He broke the world record as well on his average throw.

So many mistakes being made at crucial times. Taylor has just punished Barney but only after Barney SHOULD have punished Taylor for making mistakes.

Taylor just missed a great chance to go 3 sets up but blew it. 2-1 to Taylor. Started to get good now!

I hope a repeat of their 2007 final which was an absolute corker...but obviously with a Taylor win this time!

Barney won in sudden death. Excellent match! Baxter was more than a match for him and should have won but Barney held his composure and finished him off superbly.

Excellent darts match at the moment between Barney and Baxter. Currently 3 sets all, Baxter 3 legs to 2 up. Very exciting stuff! Edit: Now 3 legs each. Must win by 2 clear legs.

Anyone else think Kevin Painter looks like a fat version of Vinnie Jones?

A lot of people might have seen this at the cinema but I've finished reading Danny Wallace's 'Yes Man!'. What a funny yet adventurous read it was. I'm not sure whether the movie is different from the book or not but hopefully a lot of people will now read the book after seeing the film. A few people have mentioned that it's similar to a book called 'The Dice man' or something so hopefully might purchase that book soon. Anyone else read them?

I watched Will Smith's new film '7 Pounds' last night. Pretty good film. Not one of his bests but a clever film with a good ending.
